Just some updates

I realize that I am a little far behind on updating this blog.  I am going to try to sum up our lives for the past month in this one post.

First of all, if you haven't already heard, we are expecting an addition to the family!  I am currently 7 weeks along which puts my due date on October 24th.  We are so excited.  Lillie is going to be such a good big sister.  I can tell already.  She absolutely loves babies.

Speaking of Lillie, she is 19 months old now.  John and I can't believe how quickly she is growing up into a little lady.  We love her personality.  She is constantly making us laugh.  She is a little tease.  Some of her tricks include knowing her body parts.  She is really good at saying and showing you where your eyes, nose, ears, hair, elbow "belbow", mouth and bum are.  We are trying to teach her to be polite.  She has been saying please "pease" for a long time now, but just barely mastered thank you last night.  It was pretty cute.  She loves to draw and she also loves to play the piano.  She has a great attention for details.  If you give her a note book and pencil, she will sit and color for 20-30 min.  The same goes for the piano.  That is the most likely place you will find her in our house.  She will sit and play forever if we let her.  It is really sweet to hear her playing and singing her own little songs.  I really love it.

Speaking of music, we have Lillie signed up for a music class called Music Garten.  The first class, she really loved it!  The second time, not so much.  I think some of it has to do with her teething at the time, but she was a pill.  She threw herself on the floor screaming.  It was great.  Here is a picture from the first class though. We will see how tomorrow's class goes.  If she is good, we might keep going. :)

This last week was filled with a lot of family time.  My Great Grandmother passed away and her funeral was on Friday.  It was a bittersweet time for me.  I really love seeing my family, but it seems that the only way to get together anymore is for weddings and funerals.  I should try to change that.....

One thing that I loved, though, was that my Uncle Mike came into town from Washington for the funeral. I couldn't believe how much Lillie loves him.  She couldn't get enough of him.  You could find them snuggling watching Shrek pretty much the whole time he was here.  I bet you it's his favorite movie now (after watching it approx. 24 times per movie, shrek 1, 2, 3 & 4).  No, seriously.  I'm not exaggerating.  She loves Shrek.

Another reason Mike came into town was to surprise my grandma on her birthday.  Boy was she ever surprised.  It was so sweet to see her face light up.  She couldn't stop hugging him.  We went down to her house along with my mom, Aunt Mary and Aunt Sandra and brought grandma lunch.  It was really yummy chinese food and my Aunt Mary also brought that yummy cake.  It was just overall a tasty afternoon.  Lillie ate her weight in noodles (her favorite food in the world).

I still need to update about the trip to the aquarium, but I think I am done updating for today.  Tune in later this week for more.  :)
