In the Mean Time......

Our trip to California became a great way for our family to celebrate some exciting news.  Jeremy was offered a position with the MountainWest Anesthesia group at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden Utah.  As soon as we got home we had to start planning our move.  Here's a few random pictures between California and the next step.

More exciting news!  Lindsay got her mission call to the California, Bakersfield Mission, leaving in the middle of March.  We were pretty excited for her!!!!

I can't even remember why, but Kathryn needed stitches for something.  I think her glasses got smashed into her face.  Can I tell you how excited we are to move closer to a pediatric ophthalmologist and not have to drive 3 hours?

Southern California

In mid January I was looking at an open week of vacation the first week of February and I knew if I didn't get us out of Great Falls Jeremy would find work to pick up.  So two weeks before the vacation I made some arrangements and we were off to Southern California to - we thought - enjoy warmer weather.  Turns out it was some of the coldest and windiest weather they had ever seen, even some blown over palm trees in San Diego, but that worked in our favor since there were fewer crowds at the parks.

Our first stop was Sea World.

Berek handled the crowds pretty well.  My friend Amy Lou was able to meet up with us as well.  Our place we were staying was a small condo on the beach.  It was a little interesting being in such a tight space and no crib for Berek to sleep in, but a few pillows on the floor and everything worked out.

We tried to check out the temple the next day, but it was pouring rain on us while we were there.  We drove south to check out the tide pools, and though the rain had stopped, it was so windy you couldn't get any where near them or see anything.  But the girls had a nice windy walk on the sandy cliffs.

I had great hopes of at least being able to stick our feet in the water, but it didn't quite work out.  The wind and the cold made it a little crazy, and as the girls were running away from the waves Cora tripped in the sand and got covered by one.  Fortunately, we hadn't left the condo, so we went in and got her cleaned and warmed up.  Not the most ideal beach experience.

A few hours later we made it to Legoland.  Everything there was built out of legos and the girls had a fun time seeing so many different ones there.

Several people had told us about the Princess breakfast for the girls.  They had a great time meeting all of the princesses and even ate their breakfast.

This was probably the best age to take a baby.  He was pretty mellow most of the time (except for the time I forgot to bring formula to the park and we bought some there that he hated and wouldn't eat so he and I walked the 1.5 miles home to get some formula with him screaming the whole way because he was so hungry - that was awesome) and just went along for the ride without realizing he was too little for the rides.  Expect he did get to go with us on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  He liked it except for when he got splashed in the face.

These girls and I had a dance party with the Disney crew there.  It's a little different being there with kids and remembering what it was like to work for the mouse.  We had fun with it, though.

All in all a great vacation.  And the thing that made it exciting to come home is Jeremy got a phone call while we were eating dinner in Anaheim.  Mountain West Anesthesia offered Jeremy a position at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.  So now we were going home and getting ready to plan how to sell our house, find a new one in Ogden, and move there by the end of May.  Exciting times!
