Ice Cream

After the airplane ride, ice cream seemed appropriate. How long is it before more ice cream goes in them than on them? I had probably 10 napkins and we went through every one. We actually had to change his shirt before we left. If there had been a hose available.....

Airplane Ride

We went to an open house event at a local airport this weekend where Josh got his very first airplane ride. I was so proud of him. It was very turbulent and the plane was bouncing around a lot. As a pilot I can promise you that's not an exaggeration. He sat in his seat and loved the ride. Once safely airborne we let him come back to us and sit in Curt's lap to see out the window. The only problem at all was that once we landed he wanted to go for a ride in a helicopter. We felt that we'd spent quite enough money for one day so we had to pass, but I think he would have been fine. He was really a trooper.

Tumblebees

Josh goes to a gymnastics class every weekend called Tumblebees. It's very fun and they have the kids do some pretty challenging things. Check out the gym.

Frogs and Toads

The Discovery Garden had a great program on frogs and toads. The educator absolutely enthralled the kids by putting live frogs on the table and letting the kids see them up close. Then he placed bugs and small worms around the table and the frog had quite a tasty treat for his trouble. The kids were positively gleeful everytime the frog slurped up his bug. After learning about the lifecycle of frogs, and the differences between frogs and toads, he took the kids outside to the frog garden and taught them how to find frogs. Josh was very attentive.

Discovery Gardens

This weekend we went to a local children's discovery garden. They had a fabulous train garden with multiiple trains running, a frog garden complete with mascots, a very fun bridge to run across, and not shown are their butterfly garden, scent garden, and vegetable gardens that are planted at toddler height for touching. They also have a great treehouse for climbing.

Mall

Curt wasn't quite finished so we rode the train in the mall, and got to play in the kiddie play zone too. Josh is finally big enough to get over the tent in the playground. This was cause for extensive rejoicing and quite a few trips over the tent.

Rides

Last weekend we went to the mall. While Curt was shopping I took Josh to the kiddie rides, gave him $2 in quarters and watched the fun. He would ask how many coins each ride was and carefully count them out.

Swingset Fun

He really loves his swingset. We love that it's sturdy enough for us to play too.

Spring

We've had a really run of nice weather. A few weeks ago we brought out the bounce house to let Josh jump off some energy. I just wish he'd stay in it longer.

What he did stay in a long time was his pirate swing. Curt pushed him in it for a long time. He put his head down, laid down and just enjoyed the ride.
