Skype Rocks

Josh loves taking pictures. Here he is taking pictures of his Auntie while we were talking to her via Skype. It's really nice for him to see her and be able to chat with her. Today he sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and The Wheels on the Bus for her. Well.....the words were all there. Just not in any kind of order. Pretty cute stuff with a big, loud finish.

Play Doh

This was the weekend of Play Doh. We got a very minimal kit to see if he liked it and it was a great hit. He particularly liked using the scissors to cut it. Wait till he figures out that you can mix the colors! I'm not showing him that.

Boscar

Josh was the lucky Panda of the week this week. He was given Boscar (his class mascot)to take care of over the weekend. Bascar got to help put the groceries away and even got to take a drive with Josh in his jeep.

Thomas II

More photos of our Day Out with Thomas. Here's Josh trying to get some air in that very stuffy train car.

Day Out with Thomas

This weekend we had a Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine. The event also featured a petting zoo (he's still not at all into that!), and a toddler size hay bale maze that was really fun. The parents stood around the edges and coached the little ones to the end of the maze. Most of the kids made it through without a parent intervention. Very clever. Josh also got a temporary tatoo on his arm of Thomas. That took some real doing to get off until Curt thought about using rubbing alcohol. That did the trick quite nicely. After perusing the grounds we got to ride on the train. Thomas pushed us out of the station for about 15 minutes, then pulled us back in. Yep, 30 minutes on a train with no air conditioning and small windows that only opened from the top. I melted. Josh loved it.

Labor Day

We went to a Labor Day party this weekend where people were playing cornhole. For those of you (like us) who had never heard of this phenomenon, you take the beanbags and throw them into the hole. Josh thought it was great fun. He also liked the washers game. In the second two photos below, there's a wooden box with a can inside it. You take large washers and throw them. You get a point for getting it in the box, and five points for landing in the can. Josh discovered it was much easier to score if you sit IN the box.

Cheese

Josh found my camera and asked me to take a picture of him. He even smiled and said "cheese" with no prompting.

Piggy Bank

This week Josh found a piggy bank he just had to have. Then he remembered our change jar. He started filling it, then quickly realized there was a bottom "door" and that he could fill it much more quickly if he had a bigger hole to put the money in. Yes - we've glued it shut now. :)

The little guy is also still playing a lot with his Mickey Mouse ears. He tells me all the time how he rode an airplane and got to meet Mickey.

Auntie to New Zealand

Rashida left us last week for a semester in New Zealand. I don't remember college being like that.
