Notice where heparked his car when he had to go in. He even said night-night to mommy's car, then daddy's car, then Josh's car.

He still loves to play with the red ball.

Curt also had to show Josh how to look under the car. Is this father/son bonding at its best or what?

We eventually persuaded Josh to wear a hat (the sunglasses were his idea) if he was going to be out in the sun so long. He rode that jeep for hours and had an absolute fit when it was nap time. We had to tell him the jeep was tired and had to rest. It didn't work but we were desperate.

Josh figured as long as he looked so cool, he might as well have a ride on daddy's tractor too.

Josh also got a new electric car this week. We found it on Craigslist at a very reasonable price. Of course we won't talk about having to also browse ebay for the missing charger. Josh actually figured out how to make the car where he wants it to go. It has a gas pedal with forward and reverse (changed by a button), and a hood that opens. Within about an hour he was doing really well going up and down our very curvy sidewalk and driveway.

Then his dad showed him how to look like a real man by looking under the engine. I've never figured out what guys are looking at when they do that. Curt can't explain it to me either. That makes it even more hilarious that the behavior has to be modeled to a 2-yr old.

Josh decided he could help his daddy......or......even better.....he could put his new red ball in the cart!

He was a really good helper. He must have picked up, oh say 2 or even 3 sticks - all with two fingers. Then he'd turn to me and say "messy, mommy." I tried to explain that being messy was okay, but I think it was beyond his comprehension at the moment.

We went to Lowe's this weekend to buy a yard trailer for Curt's mower. Josh had to sit on EVERY tractor in the store. Twice.

Then he helped daddy put the cart together. It was adorable.

Spring Break

Josh had the pleasure of spending this entire week with his Auntie and Granny. Auntie was home for her Spring Break and Granny agreed to join us for an entire week of toddler fun. The photos are somewhat out of order, but mostly include outings to our favorite Children's Museum, and a very fun toy store in town that features a kid's interactive play area with lots and lots of activities. Josh adores his family.

Danger Boy

I wish I got a picture of this entire maze. It's enormous. Several stories high. With a little help (pay no attention to the woman nonchalantly perched partway up the stairs). He particularly liked the airplane bubble in the photos below. Once they reached the top there were three slides they could choose to come down. There were several times I wondered if I'd have to follow Josh to help him, but he did just fine. Of course Curt wasn't thrilled when Josh came down the 2-story slide backwards and head first. I didn't know that part until we were done. Probably better that way.

We hear a lot of "Ready? Ready? Go!" these days.
We had an impromptu puppet show. Josh thought the puppets were fun but lost interest pretty quickly.

Josh also got a t-ball set this week. We were amazed that he actually has the hand/eye coordination to do really well. He hits the ball just about every time, but hasn't decided yet whether to hit from the left or the right. He seems to like chasing the balls down too.

Hey, where's Auntie?
Sometimes when you go really, really fast down the slide (upside down and head first no less!), you need a kiss on the head to make it better.

Playing golf with Granny. He needs some practice at this but didn't do too bad for his first time. Of course, we probably need to start with teaching him to stand up to take his shot.

He got to play in a toddler sized house and do laundry.
Then we went outside where he had a chance to use fishing poles to fish. The poles and fish were magnetic and the fish actually bobbed up and down in the water. It was pretty cold outside, but this would be great fun in the summer.

They also had lots of climbing equipment outside.

Finally we were ready to go home. Notice the big red ball? He didn't let go of that the entire trip. Granny was a lifesaver for retreiving it each time it got away from him.

Auntie helped him build a very tall tower. He needed no help at all to knock it down!
Josh liked all the large-size building blocks. So did his Auntie. Josh's favorite way to play with them was to find the most messy area in the room and make himself a path through the blocks by tossing them out of his way.

Then he found another Lego table. Auntie and Granny helped him find the pieces and build things.

The toy store had a pretend grocery store where Josh could shop the aisles and pretend to be the cashier.
