Loaded bookshelves

I think they look so great, I've added photos of the new cabinets all loaded with books. Believe it or not, there are more books in the office.

Closet After

We just had a custom closet designed and installed. It's very difficult to get good pictures in a small space but I've done my best. We chose single medium-high hanging racks to keep our clothes above dog/cat height. Apparently if your human isn't in residence, the next best thing is nuzzling their clothes! We also had plenty of space so the single rack system was more than sufficient.

I don't plan on it, but I could give Imelda a run for her money with all my new shoe storage.

This space was designed for packing. The t-shaped counter perfectly accomodates our luggage with space on both sides to queue items to be packed. There's also a valet rod for hanging items.

Of course the more I look at the closet now, the more I want doors on at least some of the shelves. Don't tell Curt though. I was adamant that I didn't want them. I thought then (and still do) that it would make me crazy to have to open a door just to get a t-shirt. It would look nice though..... Posted by Picasa

Closet Before

So....we have the most amazing closet. It's 11'x19'. But it was tremendously under-designed.

More than half the closet was completely empty.

Before and After

We recently had some work done on our loft space on our second floor. The before picture is of the previous homeowner's furniture, but shows the room well. Given that none of us in this household ever met a book we could return to a library, we were in desperate need of book space. We had wall-to-wall bookshelves built in our loft to make it more of a library space.

Josh was an absolute gentleman when asked to sit in the birthday throne with our host to open the present Josh brought. Posted by Picasa
Eventually we had to put our shoes back on and go to the birthday party. Josh enjoyed the pizza and juice.

He even got to play basketball!

The facility has staff that interact with the kids. Marissa followed Josh everywhere and made sure he had a good time. He didn't take long to figure out how fun it was to run and jump in the bounces.

Pump It Up Party

Then we went to a birthday party for a friend in Josh's class at school. They arranged a party at Pump It Up, which has giant inflatables suitable for kids and adults. Given the age group of this party they also brought in other toys. Josh had great fun running around, playing on the sit-and-spin, and playing with the car. Also notice that he made a special friend. Her name is Marissa and she grabbed Josh within minutes of his entering the facility and played with him the whole time. She even went down the slide with him. Again and again and....

Waffles!

We had a great day. We started with waffles. I carefully cut up some waffle pieces and gave Josh some syrup to dip the pieces in. He ate a few that way then reached over to the plate, helped himself to a whole waffle and eagerly devoured it. Yum!

Toddler Computer Geek?

After searching and searching for his Auntie (who went back to school Thursday), Josh decided to placate himself by plugging into her computer. He climbed up into her chair, put on the headphones, and grabbed the mouse. I'm scared to death what we're likely to unintentionally teach this boy next.
