Friends

So I've been home for over a month now and I think I've only seen/hung out with three or four friends since. It might be a little bit my fault, but it's hard saying that first hello after being out of their lives for an entire year. I have two months left till I leave on my mission to Brazil, and though I'll be a little bit busy I hope I'll be able to see my friends before I leave.

Jeps!

That's right folks, my name's Jeps! At least according to Cadence it is. I've been home for about a week now and have got to see my cute little neice everday so far. She's really getting to know her unlce Jeps. :) I love her! She's so ADORABLE!

Living in Utah

I don't know about this. In a week or so it will be a year since I moved to Utah and I've always said that I would live in Utah permanently. Lately though all I want to do is live in California again. It's just so great! I've started to appreciate the beach more and more since I've been out here. Every time I go home the only thing I want to do is go to the beach as much as I can. Lynne... Andrea... I don't know how you do it. :D

Change of Feelings

First off, let me start by saying that I wasn't the happiest trooper at the beginning of Spring term. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to be here, wasn't sure I liked the fact I had to make new friends again, and was a little upset that it was still snowing/raining in May. Now that Spring is half over (4 more weeks) I am happy I'm here, even though I wish I could be here while still being at home. Since that's impossible I will visit home. :D I think I might have started liking it here after I found out I got a 98% on an Exam that I thought for sure I wasn't getting higher than a B- on. How that happened I do't know, but I'll take it.

Laughable

Today I realized my professor sounds like and sorta resembles Newman from Seinfeld. This of course makes me laugh out loud during class, while I think to myself how great he would be at a Newman impression.

I came home from my class and found my roommate pulling dinner out of the oven. Since it looks like apple crisp in a muffin pan and since I LOVE apple crisp I ask excitedly if it is in fact apple crisp. He responds, "no... it's meatloaf muffins..." I say oh... and I walk out of the kitchen just before I burst out in laughter. :D

These are the simple things in my life that brighten my day. :D

Mission Call!

Thursday night was the night. They say it was all about me, but I think it was all about them. Those who were here, those who were listening, and those who were intently waiting to call or for me to call them to hear "THE BIG! neeewws." They made what happened last night possible. Without them I couldn't have made it this far. I love everyone of them.

On Thursday night I opened my mission call! I'm going to the Brazil Maceio Mission!!! I report September 22nd the the Brazil MTC! I'm going to be preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Brazil in the Portuguese language. I'm so EXCITED!!! Here's some pictures of Maceio.

When was the last time you've shaved?

This term I signed up for intermural soccer on my wards team. Fun right? Our first game was tonight and I got there and tried to check in but the guy wouldn't let me because he said that I needed to shave... Part of me is thinking, WOWOWOWOW!!! That's SO STUPID! But another part of me is thinking yeah, that's right, I have enough of a beard to get kicked off a BYU intermural team. Rock on. haha

By the way the last time I've shaved is on Sunday morning.

Update!

There is a lot going on in my life right now. So I'll tell you all about it and I have a funny story about fries... :D

Mission Call

Winter semester ended over a week ago and I went home on Wednesday the 21st and turn my mission papers in on Thursday the 22nd! It's crazy that it's already here! I'm so excited though... I just found out last night that I'll be getting my call next week on Wednesday most likely, and if not then on Thursday. I'm going back to California to open it, sorry An... sorry Lynne. :D I still love you and you will be on the phone when I open it. I'm excited to find out where and when I'm going, because I just had a dream last night that I got called to the Uruguay Mission, yeah that's Ryan's mission, and for April 7th. hmmm.... In my dream that was really soon but I thought about it this morning and it very well could have been for next year. but that would be crazy! We don't want that.

Liberty Square

I just moved from Heleman Halls to Liberty Square for Spring Term and I'm very glad I did. I love living in an apartment so much better than living in a room... a small room. haha my room here is bigger and then I have a bathroom, living room, kitchen, and even a small hallway. haha Yeah it's great. made myself some eggs this morning for breakfast. My roommates are pretty cool guys. We seem to get along great.

Family

Can I tell you how much I LOVE that my parents come up so often. They might as well live here. haha Except I really love California. A lot! I've spent a lot of time with my sisters and my brother-in-laws and my mom this past week. It's great. I LOVE OUR FAMILY!

Fry Story

We went to Smash Burger for lunch yesterday and when we walked in an older couple was leaving. They left a little bit of fries in their fry basket on the table so I dared Andrea to eat one. She didn't even respond but instead dared me to... so I did. hahaha The end. :D

Baby Sitting Cadence

Here she is, walking all over the house. Makes it a little harder to babysit when she starts running away from you. ...but it makes it more fun. :D She's so cute!

All Grown Up

It's sometimes weird to think that I'm in college. I often felt growing up that all my siblings would grow up and I would always stay young. I guess it's still true... they're just ancient now, and I'm a little older, but still young compared to them. Recently though I've felt like I'm in college because I'm doing projects and learning things you would never learn in high school. I just finished two projects that I never would have thought about doing in high school. One we made a solar power water heater, and the other I designed a Las Vegas Hotel using a 3D modeling computer program called AutoCAD. These projects are legit! So yeah, when you start doing things you would never do in high school, that's when you realize you're in COLLEGE!!!

Slightly Embarrassing... Ridiculously Funny!

My parents came up to Utah for conference this past weekend and we went to dinner of course! So we're walking into Cheesecake Factory to get cheesecake, naturally, and we're crossing the road right in front of the restaurant. Before we start crossing we see this car coming and we can tell by how fast it was going that it wanted to get passed before we crossed. So we let it pass by but only enough so that we can go right behind it... you know like we all do... that way we don't have to stop and wait till it passes. So I time it just right so I don't have to slow down too much when all of the sudden this car SLAMS on its brakes, comes to a dead stop and I slam right into the side of the car! ...yeah, I hit a car. WITH MY BODY!!! and of course Andrea saw it, my mom saw it, Lynne saw it and Ryan saw it. Andrea was laughing so hard that she might as well have been rolling on the ground laughing, and so of course that made me laugh. needless to say, we ALL got a good laugh.

And I have no idea whether the car did this on purpose to make me run into it or not, but if it did, they are my new favorite people.

This is only slightly ridiculous. Can you imagine. and they're supposed to start taking people up next year or something. Wanna go to space? It will cost you $200,000.

45 degrees in Provo equals Jeffrey Duff in shorts and sandals BABY! I'm going hiking today because it's such a BEAUTIFUL day! And then in a week I'll be in California weather!! ...cause I'll be in CALIFORNIA!

Old Joy Found

WAFFLE CRISP!!! When I was young I used to eat Waffle Crisp all the time. But then out of nowhere I stopped eating it. I think it was because my mother stopped buying it cause it was no longer on sale like all the other cereals. She never buys stuff unless it's on sale or it's at Costco. BUT GUESS WHAT!!! They sell Waffle Crisp at the CREAMERY!!!!! I'm eating them right now. mmmmmmm... Childhood is calling... Enjoy some of my favorite Waffle Crisp commercials.

Mason

My little cousin Mason is the coolest kid I know. I haven't seen him a REALLY long time and I miss him terribly. I've been thinking about him today. Love you Dahl's!

Take a rest!

It's a weird thing procrastination. I flat out kicked it's butt last week, but I still find myself behind. Well, only on one thing. BUT STILL! Can't Procrastination just take a rest already so I can take a rest?

Chuggin' Along

So this semester feels like studying and homework NON STOP! I don't know if you have realized this or not, but I have... I've been in school since September of 2008 NON STOP! It's a little crazy but at the same time I wouldn't have it any other way. I love learning and I love it here at BYU. But right now I'm ready for a small break. I've been chuggin' along for a long time now constantly worrying about tests or homework, hoping for a time when I wont have anything to do. But that time will never come so I just keep chuggin' along. It's a hard life sure... but one special person in my life has always told me that I can DO hard things. So I just keep chuggin' along. I don't sleep much cause I'm studying a lot, and I haven't had a good nap in a long time. But I just keep chuggin' along.

It's hard to put a finger on what it is that's keeping me going. Generally, I'm just happy.

Elevators

Today I found the Clyde Building elevators! I knew they existed I just had never seen them before. So I get in the elevator to go to the 4th floor to my secrete password lab. But as I push the button I realized that there was a 5th floor button. I didn't know there was a fifth floor. So I press it cause I was curious what was up there. Well someone got in the elevator with me from the fourth floor to go to the 2nd floor. So we get to the 5th floor and I step off and turn to the right and there's a locked door 5 feet in front of me, and that's it. There's NOTHING UP THERE! Of course i couldn't just get back on because I didn't want to look like an "idiot gettin' back on" so I get against the wall and wait for the elevator to close so he wouldn't see me just standing there with no where to go.

"When you look at it quick that 5 looks like a 4 and I was lookin' at it quick, too quick probably... probably..." haha

The other week I get on an elevator with this girl and she gave me the thing that people do with their eyebrows. It's like, hey... welcome to the area. :D

Don't pee on my face!

This past couple of weeks was kind of weird. Two times I was accused of doing something I did not do because of the car I drive. Once by the police and once by a kid that unfortunately got his face peed on. You think that's weird, it gets weirder.

So last week on Friday, my mom calls me to tell me that the police called. They said that a 2001 Toyota Tacoma registered to Debbie Whitaker and Brian Whitaker was involved in a hit and run in Santa Margarita, CA earlier that day. In case you didn't know, I drive a 2001 Toyota Tacoma that is registered to Debbie Whitaker, my mom, and Brian Whitaker, my brother. So my first thought was that my car had been stolen, but then I was like, it's in California?! Why didn't they take me with them? haha just kidding. So my mom told me to go out to the parking lot to see if my car is still there and that it's ok with all of it's licence plates on it. I go out there and it's fine, not a scratch there. And both licence plates are still there. So I talk to my mom more and she tells me that they were accusing her and my brother of withholding information on an important investigation. I'm like, what the heck! So long story short, we called back, got ignored a little bit, we left a message and to my knowledge they never called back or anything.

So about the pee guy. Tonight I was driving Tenery and Rylee to their dorm so Tenery could get something to give to Corbin back at our dorm. So we get to their dorm and Tenery goes inside to get the lemon juice (that's what she was getting) and I get out to scrape the ice off of my windshield. While this was happening a car had pulled into the parking lot behind us and this guy gets out of the car full of his friends and starts walking up to me. As he walked towards me he said, "DUDE! Were you at that party? Did you pee on my face?!" 0_0 I was quite sure how to respond so I just said, "What are you TALKING about?" So he persists and tells me that he was at this party and this guy peed on his face and his friends told him that the guy that did it has a car that looks like mine. (...are you kidding me...?) So I was like, I was NOT at a party and I did NOT pee on your face! He still does not believe me so I open up the door and I was like Rylee, tell him what we were just doing. (we had been playing Phase Ten). So the guy starts yelling at Rylee, telling her that "Someone peed on my face!" Rylee responded, "I'm sorry...???" crazy guy: "NO! Someone PEED on my face!" Rylee: "I'm REALLY sorry...???" Then the guy finally gives up and says, "So you swear you didn't pee on my face?" Dude, NO! And he walks back to his car frustrated and they all drive away.

Moral of the story is, DON'T drive a green Toyota Tacoma unless you are looking for trouble. ...oh and please... don't pee on my face!

I Have the Password!

So there is this room on the 4th floor of the Clyde building that you cannot get into without a secret password. This room is filled with computers and CADEM access and AutoCAD capabilities and everything. OH MY! They have printers!!! I was just looking around the room and there they were. I didn't know there were printers in the Clyde building that would be accessible to anyone. Well, when I say anyone I mean only people with the password. ...guess what... I have the password! It's pretty great being a somebody with a password. :D

Behold the Awesome Respect

This morning, walking home at 750 AM from my 7 AM class (don't get me started) our nations national anthem began to play over a loud speaker somewhere in the distance. I assume it was for the flag raising ceremony, but I could not see the flag from where I was. The playing of our national anthem was enough to make everyone on campus stop walking and pay their respect to our great nation. Lets all remember why we pay such AWESOME Respect to the United States of America and why it is such a blessing to live in this great nation.
