They say that Excitment is being anxious to do the next thing, or hardley being able to wait for something to happen. Well I'm excited for the now, because life is good and I'm happy. and tomorrow, I will be excited for the now as well. Living in the moment, and living it to the fullest is what life is all about. We should take every opportunity to tell those around us how they make us feel, and how much we really do love them. Living in the moment and cherishing it as if it was your big moment on stage is what being human is all about.
Now that I've told you about Excitement, I'll tell you what I'm excited for. I'm excited for my family, and the love we share. I'm excited about my friends and how they're always there for me. I'm excited about Jesus Christ and how he died for us so that we can repent and come unto him, forgiven of all our sins. He made the impossible possible and I'm excited about that. I want to share this simple gospel message with the world, and since that's not possible, I'm excited to go on my mission so I can spread that message to a nation that at this time is waiting for me. I'm EXCITED!

California!!!
I love being with family and Siblings! ...and the 80 degree weather isn't bad either. When I can go outside at 530 in the morning with a thin beach jacket and shorts and not die... that's the life. Don't get me wrong though, I'm super excited about living in the snow... but it's nice to be warm for a little bit. And in December, when it gets a little too cold for me, I'll come home to my warm paradise. A little of what I've done this week, I played volleyball, basketball, ping pong and I ran a 10K. Oh, and I've eaten more than I have in months. Delicious! I went to Disneyland too with Athena and Kimly who I haven't seen in a long time and Lynne and Dave. It was a little crowded but we still had a great time. I'm still a little sore from running... like I can't move! so yeah, it's been a great week. But I'm ready for a break from my break! haha

Bros at BYU
So there's Palmer of course! he's going to be my new roommate. He's awesome cool and VERY energetic at times, just my type. haha But we have a lot in common. I like all of his music, and he likes most of mine I think. (that's very important in a roommate I've come to find out)
Will, this dudes sweet! he's unlike any other and he's not afraid to show you. Lives life to the fullest and just a great guy. Hopefully we can go hit the slopes a lot together next semester with no classes on Tuesday or Thursday!!!
Conor!!! We do Calc Homework and I'm pretty sure neither of us would have survived the past few weeks in that class without each other. He loves We Shot the Moon (one of my new favorite bands possibly) and he's going to the Baltic's on his mission. Just an all around cool guy. He used to go to sleep by about 10, but we're slowly breaking him from the habit. muahaha.
*These are definitely the three that I hang out with the most. They're awesome and we never fail to have fun.
In'N'Out strikes OREM!!!
I just went to In'N'Out and it was GREAT!!! and yes, I'm still in Provo!!! this could mean only one thing... the In'N'Out in Orem Utah (5 minutes from BYU campus) just opened TODAY!!! It as packed, but we still got our food in less than 20 minutes total. it was impressive. Oh and people actually camped out in front last night waiting for it to open this morning! It made me proud that so many people were as excited about it opening up as I was.

Last night I had my forth dream this semester, fifth ever, about getting my mission call. I guess I'm pretty anxious!

Idaho Fun
This last weekend, Becca was going to BYU-Idaho to visit Lauren and Karina and to go to a dance on Friday night. She had no one to drive up there with so I abliged... haha I'm not going to lie, I wanted to go. So after class on Friday, 2ish, we drive off to Idaho and get there about 630ish. I stayed with Ryan's friend Spencer in the dorms, about two dorrs down from Ryan, and met all Ryan's friends. They're really cool guys and I kinda felt like I was going to be there for a while. Saturday we went to the caves and played Hide and go seek with glow in the dark juices. haha It was awesome, and we did some off roading too. Later in the night we went to the sand dunes and jumped off/rolled down them. I had a great time and Ryan fed me well. It was good to see him again.
p.s. I told Ryan he needs to ask a specific girl out, so hopefully he gets on that... :D

"My Dad's the Greatest Dad!"
I want to dedicate this post to my dad. My dad is amazing and I love him very much. He has been a great role model in my life and he has taught me important lessons on how to be a great Husband, Father, and Priesthood holder without even knowing he was doing it. But I have always been watching you dad, and you never cease to amaze me. You do so much for our family because you love us and you want the best for us. You've given me everything I've ever needed and then some and you ask for nothing in return. And the greatest thing you've given me is your time. You have always been there for me when I needed you. The thing I'm going to remember the most about you when I'm grown up is the time we spent together in the backyard... washing cars, planting flowers, doing jobs for mom/grandparents. The time I spent with you one on one while I was an only child is the time I'm going to remember the most. I love you dad. You're the BEST!

Vivid Dream
Have you ever had one of those dreams where you wake up and you SWEAR it really happened? Well I had one of those last night. I dreamt that I had gotten my mission call a while back, but I put it away and forgot about it. But then I remembered that I had it in my drawer, so I got it out and held it up to the light and read that I had been called to Idaho on a military mission and after a few months of that I would be transferred by jet pack to a regular mission. This isn't the first time I've dreamt about getting my mission call either. I've dreamt that Ryan Brassfield and myself were called to Antartica. 0_0 haha crazy dreams.

That's Hot!
So I was walking back to my dorm after my Calc Lab and saw this guy pull up in the parking lot on a motorcycle. Then a girl, I'm going to guess is his wife, gets on and the guy gets off. The girl tells him to call if he wants a ride home after class then leaves on the motorcycle, and she knew how to ride.... So I'm watching her ride out of the parking lot and down the street and this guy walking next to me says, "That's Hot!" hahaha... :D ...yeah

Sometimes, don't you just feel like an idiot?
So it's been three months that I've been going to BYU and I have my dad's old laptop to use. But for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to fix the volume. One day it would be quiet, but hearable, and the next you couldn't hear it at all. Well, today I figured out what the french toast was going on. Turns out, the knob on the front of the computer isn't there for nothing. It's the VOLUME knob!!! Man, part of me is so upset it took me this long to find it, and the other part is SOOOO glad I FINALLY found it. Sometimes, don't you just feel like an idiot?
Yesterday I bought my lunch out of the vending machine and was going to cook it in the microwave because I was short on time. So I put the pizza rolls in and turned it on for 80 seconds like the package says. I press start and I wait. I was amazed at how quiet the microwave was and I thought it was weird how this one didn't have a light turn on inside while your food was cooking. But I didn't think of it anymore than that. There were other people waiting to put their food in too so I was trying to hurry. So when the timer went off I open up the microwave and feel the pizza rolls... THEY'RE STILL FROZEN! I was a little mad and thought this was the weakest microwave in the world and put them back in for yet, ANOTHER 80 seconds. I'm standing there and then when the timer got down to about 35 seconds left, I finally realized that I was using the TIMER not the COOKING TIMER!!! hahahahaha. man I felt dumb. I stood there for a minute and a half while my food just sat there in the microwave not cooking at all. I actually said to the guy waiting patiently behind me, "I'm so stupid" but he didn't hear me. Actually I don't think he even noticed at all because he never corrected me. Sometimes, don't you just feel like an idiot?

9/11
Today is the 8th aniversery of 9/11 and it's amazing to me that it was that long ago. I remember exactly what I was doing. I was riding to my best friend Ryan's house to walk to school with him. Then, in 5th grade and 10 years old, I listened to the radio broadcast and heard them talking about some building that had been hit by an airplane. I asked my mom why they were reading a story on the radio, and my sister told me it's not a story, it's real. I didn't really believe her until I saw it for myself at Ryan's house on TV. Ryan and I looked at each other and said, "We're going to be talking about this at school today." That morning was the only part of the day that day that I remember.
Today I walked past the flag post in front of the ASB and saw that the flag was at half mast. There was a military man and woman standing in front of the flag, protecting it. I'm sure glad to live in a country where our military are fighting for our freedom.

MOA
Today I went to the Museum of Art (MOA) and looked around at all the art inside it. I've got a confession to make... I'm NOT very interested in art, and paintings. I love pictures of the Savior's life and of Nature (aka Yosemite). But that's about it. I understand it's an expression of people's hearts and soul, and that's great. But I just don't find it interesting. That's all I'm trying to say.
This guys blessed...
So there's this guy and he's loving life. He really couldn't have a much better life actually. He's got a family that love him, friends to hang out with most of the time, and a fantastic college to learn just about anything he would like to learn. This is the present, but the future is an entirely different story. He doesn't know what is there waiting for him. He can't predict what will happen, and often has no way of controling what will happen to him. It's scares him, but he knows he'll be alright because ...he's got a family that love him, friends to hang out with most of the time, and a fantastic college to learn just about anything he would like to learn...and a Savior that will always be there for him. So yeah, this guys pretty blessed and ready to take on all those frightening thoughts of the future.

Link Pictures

Missing You
Every time I think of you
I always catch my breath
And I’m still standing here and you’re miles away
And I wonder why you left
And there’s a storm that’s raging
Through my frozen heart tonight
I hear your name in certain circles
And it always makes me smile
I spend my time just thinking about you
And it’s almost driving me wild
But it’s my heart that’s breaking
Down this long distance line tonight
And I ain’t missing you at all
Since you’ve been gone, away
I ain’t missing you
No matter what I might say
There’s a message in the wires
And I’m sending you a signal tonight
You don’t know how desperate I’ve become
And it looks like I’m losing this fight
But it’s my heart that’s breaking
Down this long dusty road of mine
And I ain’t missing you at all
Since you’ve been gone, away
I ain’t missing you
No matter what my friends say
And there’s a message
That I’m sending out
Like a telegraph to your soul
If I can’t bridge this distance
Stop this heartache all alone
I ain’t missing you at all
Since you’ve been gone away
I ain’t missing you
No matter what my friends say
I ain’t missing you
Since you’ve been gone away
I ain’t missing you
No matter what your friends say
Hey, yea, yea, yea, yea
I ain’t missing you at all

Summer Events... Past, Present, and Future
Past...
Yesterday Andrea and her Softball team won the intermural softball championship and they got a champion shirt. It was pretty awesome and very intense. Andrea caught a great hit by the other teams best hitter and then they won after the next guy hit. They got him out and won by one run. It was an awesome game! Andrea's so good at softball and her team was pretty good too I guess. haha
Present...
Brian graduated from Notre Dame today with his masters degree in Accounting! WOW. That is tough I've heard. He was in an accelerated program so he got his degree in just two summers. crazy. ...and I thought American Heritage was hard.
It's my BIRTHDAY!!! I feel weird posting about this, just cause it feels like I want all the attention, but I'm ok without it. I'm going golfing today with Devon, which is weird because he never wants to go golfing. Maybe he's being nice to me cause it's my birthday. :D ...and because I can get him a way good deal. I'M 18!!! CRAZY!!!
Future...
Finals for my summer term are next week on Wednesday and Thursday, and then I'm done with American HERITAGE!!! HURRAY!!! I'm so glad I got that class out of the way first thing. And I'm really excited to go home!
Andrea is graduating in a week from BYU!!! She's graduating from the nursing program and yes, she is a genius. I'm a little sad because Ryan and her are moving farther away. But they'll still only be about twenty minutes away so I guess it's not too bad.
I get to see CADENCE!!! When I go home Brian, Kelli and Cadence are going to be home waiting for me!!! :D :D :D
Lynne is getting married in TWO WEEKS to Dave Kimball! I'm so excited for her and it's going to be awesome to see all the family.
The second week that I'm home I'm going to YOSEMITE!!!! Mom, dad, and I are going with the Brassfield's, it will be the first time in years that we went with them. It's going to be so fun.

Summer term is winding down
Summer term is winding down and I only have about a week left. I'm soo glad I started summer term and I'm SOOOO glad American Heritage is almost over... :D I have two finals left to take and then I am officially done. I'm excited for Fall to start and FOOTBALL GAMES!!! I just bought my All-Sports Pass with lots of friends so it's going to be AWESOME!!! Plus I'm taking a scuba class in the Fall and I'm going to get certified. It's going to be so fun. I'm just filled with excitment. And Lynne's wedding is in TWO WEEKS AND THREE DAYS!!! I'm so excited for her and to see all my family and stuff. Nothing like a marriage to bring the family together. A funeral can do the same thing, but you can't be quite as happy at a funeral. hahaha I love our family... :D

California!
This weekend my friends and I are driving to California from BYU Provo. OH I'm sooo excited. It's going to be sooo much fun. I haven't been home since June 18th. It's been over a MONTH. I've never been away from home this long. NEVER! I miss my mom and dad... :D ....what? just because I'm in college doesn't meen I can't miss my mom. Right?!? ...right. So, we're staying at my aunt and uncles house in Vegas on Thursday night and then driving the rest of the way on Friday morning. We're all staying at my Grandma and Grandpa Workman's house. It's going to be AWESOME! I'm so excited to go to the beach. I haven't gone to the beach at all this summer yet. oooooww and a Bonfire! YUMMMM.... I love the beach. Why is there no BYU in California??? I'm pretty sure that's one of the biggest oversites ever. haha No... I love it here. It's a little hot but that's Utah. At least my Air Conditioning is fixed now. It's been fixed for a week but I'm still appreciating it because we lived THREE weeks without it. WOW it was hot, esspecially at night. I HATE sleeping while it's hot. I can't handle it. ...watch I'm going to go somewhere on my mission REALLY hot. wow, that's something, I only have a year and two weeks till I go on my mission. That's an interesting thought.... haha I say that because I'm excited but at the same time it's very nerve wracking. I meen I JUST got done telling you how much I miss home and it's only been five weeks... and we're talking TWO YEARS here. That's crazy. haha so this turned into a completely different post than it was set out to be. haha Oh well. That's what you get when I have a blog where I can write anything I want to. and you ALL MUST READ!!! MUHAHAHA haha ok. now I'm just weird. see ya in California on the 24th!!!!

Water Balloons & Guns
For a while now, there's been this group of guys that are up on the third floor that have nothing better to do than throw water balloons at people. So yesterday I was throwing my water bottle away in the dumpster outside, and I thought I saw a water balloon fall out of the dumpster, so I look to see if there's any more. And then I get hit in the back of the leg with one. I thought it was funny, and I saw the open window where it came from. So I went inside and then I came out like 5 minutes later to go to Del Toco, and I turn around real quick and yelled, HEY! and pointed right at the kid that had his head sticking out the window. He didn't know what hit him. He ran away from the window all quick. So then today, I was walking back from dinner and I remembered that they threw water balloons all the time. So I looked up just in time to see water flying RIGHT towards me. I GOT DRENCHED!!!! It was so funny, but then other people wanted to get them back so we filled up some water balloons and threw them at their window. And THAT is how the war began.... MUHAHAHHAHA

Fourth of July Fun
Some Family came to me for Fourth of July, and I had so much fun. In the morning, mom and dad picked Devon and me up and took us to Sundance. In the winter it's covered in snow and there's a ski lift... but in the summer it's a MOUNTAIN BIKING LIFT!!! We went mountain biking on the 4th of July. And we had a BBQ. A lot of my family was there. My Grandma and Grandpa, Parents, Andrea and Ryan, Lynne and Dave, Workmans, and some of my Grandpa's siblings. It was awesome.
Devon and I went on this one bike trail way out on the other side of the mountain. It was a little freaky because on the left side the mountain went straight up, and on the right side, the mountain went straight down. But it was sooo worth it, the views were AMAZING!!! I felt like we were on top of the world. There were 5 Hawks flying all around us while we were biking and it felt like they were waiting for us to die, so they could eat us. haha, good thing we didn't die. ...except Devon almost did.... 0_0 I was safe, except the time I flipped forward over my bike. haha that was fun. Pulled the brakes a little too hard that time. :D It didn't hurt, so it wasn't too bad. Anyway it was a BLAST... not just the flipping over the handle bars part. haha

WORD OF THE YEAR!!!!
Ineffable -adjective
incapable of being expressed or described in words; inexpressible
My friend Mercedes found this word in our American Heritage text book, so we looked it up. I am TOTALLY going to use it from now on. You know, to describe those things that are ineffably amazing! Or... "Those mountains are INEFFABLE!!!"

BYU!!!
Today I went to my first BYU class and I thought it was pretty good. It was in a big classroom/auditorium with a bunch of students. You know, the college experience. Typical stuff.
My first class by the way was American Heritage... I know everyone says it's soo hard. But I feel confident that I will be ok. I just have to keep up on my reading. The teacher seems pretty tight. He's cool and there's a ten minute break during the two hour class, which is nice. And he showed a lot of clips of things on the power point.
I know you all think I'm briliant... haha jk... but I could always use some advice. So if any of you out there have taken the class, or just want to give me advice, post a comment. I miss you guys.

Satisfying the beast that is Andrea
Andrea has been all over my case because I haven't been keeping her "visually informed"... at least that's what she called it. I really don't have time now to write a post, but wanted to give the girl what she wants. Mom's already getting mad at me for sitting at the computer putting these pictures on and not packing. I need to pack. I'll update more later.

Nashville Tennessee
This last weekend I was able to go to Nashville Tennessee with my mom to visit my dad. I'm so glad I went because I had a lot of fun... despite the horrible plane rides. Don't ask. It was the last trip I would take with my parents before I go up to BYU on Thursday. We flew in late Thursday night/ Friday Morning... don't ask... and slept till 10, which felt great. Friday we walked around downtown Nashville and had a great time. They have the whole city set up with booths and concert stages and everything. They had free ice cream and Free SNOW CONES!!! HAHAHA Brian Regan, look it up... and the highlight of the day was the mechanical bull. Oh yes, I RODE A MECHANICAL BULL!!!!!!! Never in my life did I think I would be able to do this, but there it was, and for only five bucks, I rode that bull like I real cowboy. I have video and everything.
That night we went to the Bluebird Cafe and it was fantastic. It's this little cafe, obviously, where you sit at a table and can order some food while you listen to song writers sing their songs right there in the middle of the cafe. The group that preformed Friday night was a group of ladies who wrote and sang songs together. The whole time they went back a forth joking with each other and harmonizing together. It was really enjoyable and I had a great time.
Saturday we drove around to different places near Nashville and even went on a short little hike. While we were driving I read Harry Potter 4 and just finished it today. It is WAY better than the movie and it explains so much more than the movie. It explains things that I didn't even know I didn't understand in the movie. haha. anyway, definitely better than the movie. Can't wait to start on the fifth one. Oh... and I beat Andrea... hehe... she was way ahead of me before the Nashville trip, it was a lot of driving, and flying.

Banquet
You all know how often I've posted about volleyball these last few years, but I promise, this sadly might be the last one. We had our volleyball banquet on Wednesday night and that means our season is officially over. I could not have asked for a greater last senior season. We went to the QUARTER FINALS in CIF! ...still not over that... were undefeated in league with a 10-0 season, and had a 17 match winning streak. Plus our team was awesome. Everyone worked really well together and we had a lot of fun.
Our banquet was really nice. I got the Scholar Athlete award with a plaque and everything and the coach talk about everyone on the team. I'm sad our season is over but it was a loooong season. We started training in early December so it's been a good five months. Maybe I'll get to come back for a alumni game. Wow, that's weird to think about. I"M GRADUATING!!!! YES!

Aren't You DYING to Know??
I thought it would be good to let everyone know what's going on in my life, BECAUSE IT"S SOOO EXCITING!!!!
1. Volleyball season is over; we ended the season 17-2 overall and 10-0 in League. We were Undefeated league champions, and made it to Quarterfinals of CIF!!! It was a VERY long exciting season.
2. In TWO WEEKS I will be packing up shop and moving to Provo, Utah. I got into BYU and I'm starting in the Summer. I'm rooming with Devon and I'm excited to live on my own and start college. I'm the type of person that LOVES changes. I hate boring everyday life, so a big change in my life is really exciting to me. Ryan and Andrea, my sister and her husband, live in Provo and I think I'll be eating at their house for Sunday dinner often. It will be fun to live near my sister again.
3. Lynne Marie Whitaker is now ENGAGED!!!! I know, who knew? I DID!!!!! I'm soo excited for her and the reason I'm putting it in MY blog is because she's going to live up in Utah just an hour away. So I'll have TWO sisters living near me. I love my family, so this is a GREAT thing.
4. HIGH SCHOOL IS OVERRRRRRRRR!!!!! (almost). haha. I'm sooo excited and can't wait to get off that campus. We got our yearbooks today, and all my classes are almost over. I'm sending out my graduation announcements today. YEAH!!!! I'm the last kid in the family to graduate from high school. Sorry mom... I still love you!!!
5. I just went to Prom and it was really fun. The place where it was held was awesome, it was called the Shark Club. Becca Mattson was my date and we went with Devon and his date Ariel. (I don't think that's how her name is spelled, but that's how you pronounce it) Lynne let me take her Mini Cooper Convertible! AWESOME!!! I love that car. We had dinner at my grandparents house and took pictures there. Dave, Lynne's fiance, served us. haha. Thanks Dave!
6. I have one more Sunday left at the Buena Park Ward before I leave for BYU. It's a bitter sweet thing. I mean I'm excited to go to BYU, but I've been in the Buena Park Ward since I was born. 17 years and 10 months of my life was spent in that Ward, and now for the first time ever I'll have my records tranfered to a new ward. Goodbye Buena Park Ward, and Hello BYU 131st Ward! haha, I made that up, I really don't know what ward I'm in yet.
So my life is about to change... and I'm really excited. :D that's all there is to it in a nut shell. And that's... Life.
