HI

image

My boss treated us to a stand up comedy show in Plenery Hall, KL Convention Centre. Douglas Lim, an unknown stand up comedy (at least to me) opened up the stage with a joke as this

“What is a Chinaman doing on Harith Iskandar’s stage?

Because I’m a pendatang”

Then Harith went on the stage and strut his stuff, it was damn hilarious! I will definitely watch his show again if he decide to have another. Completely cracked the whole night until my voice went bad.

But sadly though, you won’t understand the jokes if you weren’t malaysian. 3 caucasions were sitting at the back row and they were talking shit loudly before the show starts. And the 3 of them went stoned when both Douglas and Harith went on the stage, most of us around them cracked like hell but the 3 of them sat still. What a sight!

The show, albeit controversial, which kinda surprises me (they have balls of steel perhaps) is definitely worth it.

Tokyo Day 7

It’s day 7, a Sunday and it’s gloomy again!

That didn’t help us, we planned to go to Shibuya for some shopping and then to Meiji Shrine for some pictures and perhaps take a walk in Harajuku after that.

Reached Shibuya station and it’s more gloomy.

DSC_0690

The famous cross infront of Shibuya Station, the busiest crossing at the junction I’ve ever seen. When the light goes red, you can practically see a pasar malam going on right in the middle of the huge crossing.

DSC_0688

It’s autumn and the trees colour are nice.

DSC_0724

Went around for some shopping, I didn’t buy much as it’s expensive for this kind of standard, which is something you can get in Sungai Wang.

DSC_0738

So we decided to ditch one of my colleague which is into shopping, took the underground (which is much more expensive than trains) to Meiji Jingumae, which means Meiji Shrine’s front entrance. But when we arrived the underground, walked up the stairs and it’s not really the front entrance.

DSC_0767

Tokyo Metro.

DSC_0777

After some walking along Harajuku street. We arrived at the Meiji Shrine’s entrance, unfortunately it was closed after 4. And this picture was taken around 4:30pm, look how dark it is! And fortunately we came today as when we were here again for the pictures the day after next, the lanterns were taken off, the japenese told us there’s a ceremony where the 3, 5 and 7 years old kids dressed up with kimono goes to the Shrine for some prayers. Anyway, Harajuku train station (which is easier to access and cheaper) is right at the left handside of this picture, so much nearer to the entrance than Meiji Jingumae metro station. How ironic.

DSC_0797

Another disappointing day, went back to Shinjuku for Shabu Shabu, which was very delicious and very very expensive. Got cheated because we thought it’s a 3000 yen for the pot as shown on the windows but it’s actually 3000 yen per person! So it’s like a hundred ringgit per person. But it was really really nice, pickup a piece, deep into the hot soup and walla, half cooked beef, deep into the special sauce (which is fermented tofu like) and it tasted so fucking good. No regrets. (company paying for it mah)

DSC_0850

Disappointing day, but nevertheless, the dinner made up for it.

Tokyo Day 6

It’s a Saturday, means we have a freeday! So me and my colleague went to tokyo for a tour, first stop, the infamous Akihabara, the electric town. Woke up early in the morning, walked out of the hotel, and………

image A gloomy day! It was sunny the whole week and grey on a weekend. Fuck!

DSC_0465

Nevertheless, took train all the way across Tokyo, to Akihabara which is on the east side of Tokyo.

Outside the train station of Akihabara.

DSC_0469

Saw this dude, who rapped non-stop on the discounted items and prices of the shop. Didn’t stop even until I came back from walking around.

DSC_0487

Bought this camera in KL and saw it in Tokyo, endorsed by non other than Takuya Kimura. However, the price here is steeper than in KL. What a disappointment.

DSC_0491

And nearly bought this for Wai Keong, but in the end we backed off because of the warranty. Nevertheless, it’s endorsed by the chairman in Memoirs of Geisha, Ken Watanabe in Japan.

DSC_0512

Wanted to get some lenses and filters for myself but found out the price in KL is much more cheaper. Grabbed some toys for baby instead.

Sometimes I saw signs like this on the street. In general, you can’t smoke on even on the street! There’s a designated area where you can smoke and you’ll see the place blazing like a chimney and there are also signs showing instructions to hold the cigarettes above the level of a child’s height. and all of the people here obey to this rule, not like the Malaysians who couldn’t care less.

DSC_0496

A picture of me outside the station.

DSC_0507

Lots of key chains and cute adorable stuff for sale in Tokyo.

DSC_0518

Backstreet of Akihabara, selling some cheap computer parts, Lowyat like.DSC_0537

We had Yoshinoya’s Gyu Don (beef on rice) for lunch, and the local ones are nothing comparing to the ones in Tokyo, absolutely no fight. Didn’t take a picture of the real stuff though, couldn’t wait another second to wobble it down. Yummy!

DSC_0527

Saw this dude, asking a friend to take a funny picture of him with Mr Colonel, couldn’t help sneaking in for a shot.

DSC_0541

Saw this Ferrari F430 at the back of Akihabara, snapped lots of picture of it.

DSC_0551

And then saw this need for speed/tokyo drift like street car. Don’t know what car it is, look like a Nissan Sylvia to me.

DSC_0581

Wanted to go to the Imperial Palace for some picture but it rained on us when we arrived at Tokyo Central station, so we went back to Shinjuku for some shopping. Thought I can grab some stuff at least for myself. Took this picture outside Shinjuku station which is only 3pm. And the sky is already beginning to get dark!

DSC_0616

Walked around Shinjuku until night time, and it’s still very very busy at the station and also on the streets, which is still brightly lid with rows and rows of restaurants and shops.

DSC_0637

One of the back street shops, with a lot of adult shops as well.

DSC_0648

Saw this double decker on the street.

DSC_0653

Didn’t get anything in the end, and I think I haven’t walked this much in a day in Tokyo for like a whole year in KL. Went back to Fuchu and had the hot pot again. Slurp. A disappointing day, not helped by the gloomy sky.

Tokyo Day 5

After finishing test early on day 5, me and my colleague went for dinner ourselves. Our client and supplier (we are the middleman) decided to retire early, so we went to a place called Yamacho, right across our hotel, serving hot pot and teppanyaki.

Beer for a start

DSC_0376

We really didn’t know what to order since the menu is in Japanese. Tried our luck, we ordered 2 things.

The teppanyaki

DSC_0396

The hotpot, which is the same stuff but cooked in soup.

DSC_0403

We really didn’t know what was the meat when it came, we thought it’s squid.

But when we ate it only we found out that it’s pork fat!

DSC_0415

Barbecue chicken, very tasty!

DSC_0425

After dinner, we went for green tea ice cream, again, can’t read japanese, after some pointings on the menu, the green tea ice cream arrived.

DSC_0437

This sure is good shit.

Tokyo Day 4

Woke up early this morning for a taxi ride all the way across Tokyo city to Hamakawaski Operations in Kawasaki. It’s an almost 2 hours drive, and you can see how much the taxi fare is later on.

The weather was really nice, bright sunshine made it great for photoshooting, too bad I can only take them in the taxi.

Hopped up the taxi and saw this.

The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. Not a very clear picture because the camera lost focus as soon as it moved.

DSC_0234

Taxi with high tech sat nav, even shows how many lanes on the road and how the ramp and high way curves.

DSC_0239A very tension taxi dude, never driven so far from fuchu before I think. Kept pointing and talking to the satnav. Made me worried for a bit.DSC_0290Tokyo towerDSC_0253 Toshiba building? It’s just an advert.DSC_0256Wonder whether this is the rainbow bridge, lazy to find out, maybe someone can tell me.DSC_0265Tokyo bay area view from the bridgeDSC_0269Tokyo ferris wheelDSC_0283 My destination!DSC_0298  Finally arrivedDSC_0305And the taxi fare? more than 12000 yen! which is 12 x 35. You do the mathsDSC_0286Did the test, and on my way back to the hotel, saw this.

The godzilla!DSC_0316Saw this in one of the Nissan showroom also on my way back, wonder whether I can book a test drive. It would be orgasmic to drive one.

And took a shot at the sunset over the overhead line towers.

Hahaha, must show some prove of training.DSC_0350
