Badminton: Double's future looking great!

Unseeded Malaysia players Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong proved too good for Indonesia’s Alvent Yulianto Chandra and Luluk Hadiyanto in the men’s doubles badminton final. The Malaysian pair won comfortably 21-13, 21-14 and Tan said it was a win for his country. “I would like to dedictate the medal to the Malaysian people. I really appreciate seeing all the Malaysian fans who came out here to support us.”

Koo admitted he had been relieved to finally clinch victory, adding: “In the second set I was quite tense because I was thinking about winning so much. “I did not think I would get this far, but I did think about upsetting one of the top players as one of my targets. My coach did not expect us to go so far, but he always gave us encouragement. We just played the right tactics.”

[FULL STORY]

Well, I agreed with Shakunthala that the badminton players always let us down during major tournaments BUT even how many uncountable times they had disappoint me, I still support them because I love Malaysia badminton. This is because it's the only game that can help bring glory to Malaysia in international sports. We have the best team players to participate in this year Thomas Cup, but unfortunately injury happened to team captain Wong Choong Han had caused the team a fabulous chance of clinching the Thomas Cup yet again after 1992. But we do not have any other sports to compete with the world. Squash we only have one queen, bowling the malay queen already out of form for so many years, football? my own AMIGOS FC can even thrash them easily! Please stay on with the team Rexy, I sincerely wish Malaysia doubles can conquer the world and start bringing in glories for Malaysia.

Synopsis
A roaring river
A mighty force
A besieged walled city of the weak and the young
A lone warrior arrives in the darkness of night
To be their savior
To fight an impossible battle…

A lavishly-produced historical drama from China, A Battle of Wits tells the complex story of a lone warrior whose mission is to save a besieged walled city from the savage attack of a 25,000 strong army.

Late in the 3rd Century, when China comprised seven rival kingdoms, Ge Li – an unremarkable savior in rags – stands alone in an endangered city waiting to fulfill his destiny.

It is an impossible battle however you look at it. But here is a lone man willing to climb every mountain and cross every river just to get the city of Liang with only one aim: to deliver Liang from the overwhelming threat of the kingdom of Zhao in her battle against the kingdom of Yan.

Ge Li is the last Mohist in the Warring States Period of China. Facing him in the field are thousands of swift chariots and many thousands more mail-clad soldiers. His battle will be the loneliest battle in the history of war. No battle has ever been this unmatched in strength.

Would this one man alone be able to change the destiny of Liang? On the surface, this is a battle for which bloodshed would be inevitable. But in reality it is also a battle of wits. A struggle between power and desire; between a ruler and the ruled. A message of anti-war through war itself.

Andy's character is a loner, a made-up character to protect Liang City during the 7 kingdoms wars. Being brave and upright, female general Fan Bingbing fall in love with him. Both of them know each other better during war time, there's even a scene that Fan Bingbing willing to remove her clothes to declare her love to Andy, however it fails to moved Andy whom has a patriotic heart.

Keep it up IDOL!

P/S:For those who doesn't know Mandarin, SORRY! haahhaahhaaha.....but I hope at least after I post this up u can get more idea wat's goin on in the movie. Cheers!

Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea

Do you know what is the biggest difference between this top 2 from the match last night? It's not how Man Utd played so well in the first half with their wingers flying, it's not how Chelsea came back in the 2nd playing only with 3 defenders. It's when Chelsea substitute players, it's Arjen Robben and Joe Cole while Man Utd? O Shea and Fletcher.

Beef up the bench Fergie!

Happy Birthday Dude!

Have a break....

A guy walks into a pharmacy and says to the pharmacist, "Listen, I have three girls coming over tonite. I've never had three girls at once and I need something to keep me horny, keep me potent."The pharmacist reaches under the counter, unlocks the bottom drawer and takes out a small cardboard box marked with a label "Viagra Extra Strength" and says, "Here, if you eat this, you'll go nuts for twelve hours."The guy says, "Gimme three boxes."The next day the guy walks into the same pharmacy and goes up to the pharmacist and pulls down his pants. The pharmacist looks in horror as he notices the man's penis is black and blue and the skin is hanging off in some places. The man says, "Gimme a bottle of Tiger Balm."The pharmacist replies, "You are not going to put Tiger Balm on that are you?"The man replies, "NO, it's for my arm, the girls didn't show up."

3-7

United FC's keeper was having discussion with another fella while the match was in progress during second half.

Match Information:
Stadium: Stadium Petronas
Attendance: 6(All females)
Match Time: 4.00 p.m. -6.00 p.m.
Referee: Yes

It was a harsh outcome for Amigos FC, who lost 3-7 to our fourth friendly team of the season. It was also our third defeat of the season. United FC pressed wide and immediately looked to make the breakthrough when the match got started. A goal was a certainty and it came straight after 10 minutes into the game when their striker dribbled passed 2 defenders and fired home the first goal. Amigos FC equalised just after 5 minutes with Totti smashing the ball into the net which was created by a smart pass from DaiTauHar. United FC continued to press forward and scored 2 nice goals before the first half ended.

United FC showed more determination after the re-start and kept up the pressure on Amigos FC. They continued to dominate with the Amigos showing no sign of recovery. 7-1 was the scoreline before Totti grabbed a late hat-trick to make it 7-3 for United FC.

Sorry for the short report as I was busying whole day and am really tired now. For Wednesday's futsal please be informed that it's ON! Yamcha session I will try to arrange it either on Friday or Saturday night. Player list and contact numbers will be listed out for your reference soon. Good night everybody!

4-3

Vets got their new jerseys so our manager talk also louder abit. Within our opponent's earshot, told us that next week we will play against a team which is stronger. My face also dunno want to hide where. Can not imagine what will happen if we lost this match. But anyway guys gathered around and took a some kind of a group mugshot of ourselves as shown above. Pretty daunting huh? Did someone mention that we are very patriotic? Somebody suggested that we still bring our old red czech jersey in case our opponents wear the same yellow, I told him that if we are playing the national team only we should bring, because nobody will wear a bright banana yellow jerseys except the national team and us.

1st Half

Vets started brightly and within minutes we were forcing saves and corners at the older guys. Older guy kept on absorbing the pressure from the vets and play only 1 big guy up front. And they scored from their first clearance from their half. A long ball cleared through the middle and the big older guy gave chase, cut through en peng and gave a thumping shot and went in hitting the cross bar. 1-0 to the older guys. Vets didn't care, they forced the defensive line up until the centre line and keep on the pressure on the older guys. And the vets finally got their break through a long shot from Ban Tung into their top corner. 1-1. Yong came in for the vets and created havoc down the right of the field. But the vets were constantly in the offside trap, until 1 break through when Yong was clear and slot it pass the keeper. 2-1 to the vets.

2nd Half

As usual, vets got abit shaky at the start of the 2nd. Our manager came in between the sticks, and the highlight of the half was when our manager made a stop on a long shot but the ball fell sideway, and the manager attempt to catch the ball while lying on the ground made him look like a seal having a run around the park. Ban Tung scored through a lovely move down left by KhaiFei, a pass to the middle found the on rushing Ban Tung who chested it front and cooly slot it into the top corner. 3-1 to the vets.
Match got a little rough at the end when Ban Tung, after suffering from a few shoulder barges and tackles, nearly slam the bigger guy on the ground from the back. Keat Nam missed a sitter at the end the half and it finished 3-1.

3rd Half

The half was tight at the start with both sides having a go at each other. Older guys scored first with another solo run and shot by the big older guy. 3-2. Vets didn't give up the lead, and scored another one only this time, Keat Nam turned provider. A move down the left brought Keat Nam through on goal but he slotted the ball to the middle with KhaiFei brought it down and cooly finish it off. 4-2 to the vets. Older guys kept on the pressure again and after a few corners, finished off from a long shoot thorugh a whole bunch of defenders. Match ended 4-3

Verdict

After the match ended with another win to the vets. Manager talk even louder. My face is now almost hiding down at the drain. Manager was at it again, claiming all the credits for his management of the team and his strategies that gave us a win. I couldn't be more agree with his statement. If without his strategies, we could have won by a bigger margin. Guys ended the day with a get together lunch nearby the mines. and continue our talk on our aim next year. Joining the league. This was set by our manager. Joining the league man!. Wish us luck.

And I still remember Hyong's offer of 50% discount down at his massage parlour after every sunday match. Hooray!

3-3 We need some linesman here!

Starting Lineup

Bench

1st half

It was all vets in the first half, kids were crowding their goal front, with 1 guy with the ronaldo name on his back up front, and I mean really upfront, way pass our defenders, stealing chicks. Kids' strategy were to defend like mad in front, and once they get the ball, give it to ronaldo. For 30 minutes, ronaldo were in front alone, touching up his hair all the while, no action at all as their midfield were unable to bring the ball pass midfield. Vets hit the post twice and the crossbar once, and a lot of corners. Half ended sadly without any goals.

2nd half

Kids got excited abit, kept running at the vets. Got their break through on a counter attack from the right. Slipped it to the middle, and back on the right, with the lone talented kid slipping the ball pass ping at the near post. 1-0 to the kids. The vets then got their breakthrough. A good move at the middle produced a lobbing pass on the left for the on-rushing keat nam to volley pass the keeper 1-1. Pressure was kept at the kids, from a great move from the right, Yong slipped a pass through the middle for the rushing khaifei, managed to stopped it and toed it pass the keeper. 2-1 to the vets. Kids came through the last minute to score from a throw in among some confusion at the side. Half ended 2-2

3rd half

Vets got brought some passes together and again took all the possession the half offered. Kids broke through twice on couter attacks but vets were up to it by changing their defensive strategy by leaving one guy in front of the keeper to cover for the chicken stealer. Vets kept the on slaught after that, keeper were under pressure and committed a foul by picking up a back pass from their defender. Wai Choong scored from the resultant free kick. Right at the last minute, the kids scored from a counter attack from the left. Match ended 3-3.

Verdict

Kids were so-so. Got some dog defence with 6 ppl crowding the area. But if the match were with ref, they would get caught offside big time. Kids have more ppl too with 4 subs at the bench. but that is not an excuse as we could have more subs too. Vet's midfield and defence are getting better and better. Stamina has improved too, with guys lasting the whole 1 an a half hour without any problems. Keeper's attendance has to be improved as both full time keepers were absent today. Defenders are stable and consistent, midfield though have changes all the time but still can play as a unit. Striker's finishing are sadly still awful but getting better.

Ps: not sure whether I got the goal sequential right.

1st half

Match started with the vets dominating, balls were kept in the opponent's half, passings were crisp, movement was great, Ban Tung and Wai Choong pulling plays at the middle of the park. Only awful finishing deprived the half from opening big, and the old guys can only resolved to punting long balls and hope to beat our offside trap. but the defense were flawless. Old guys either got intercepted or got caught offside. They got through twice but keeper was up to the task.

Play of the half:
Cross came from a great play down the right, Prawny got his big head onto the ball and some misplace header and a fumbling keeper made a mess out of it and got the ball into the net. 1-0 to the vets.

2nd half

Leon came on to replace Chor Teck between the post. Jin Han, Him and Goldhair came in to replace Wai Keong, Keat Nam and Timothy. And again, defense got tighter, older guys didn't even got a chance at goal. And again, Ban Tung and Wai Choong were too good at the middle. But Big Head Prawn kept getting into offside position, but everyone thought that the assistant ref were rubbish at flagging offsides. Prawny was simply too fast for his eyes.

Play of the half:
1. Ban Tung got tackled from behind few feet outside the penalty box. Got himself up and put the ball straight into the net from a free kick. 2-0
2. Older guy keeper was clearing a backpass and Big Head Prawn rushed to block the punt, ball hit his leg and fell into the empty net. 3-0, older guy keeper gave a sacarstic clap.
3. Chor Teck came in to replace Ping Sheong at left back and the older guys straight away put the ball down their right and scored. Leon got his hands on the ball but wasn't enough. 3-1.

3rd half
Forgot what the substitution was but Ban Tung left the field. and the vets had a shaky start to the 3rd half. Older guys played the ball down the left and slipped a pass to the centre and scored from there. Saw some fist pumping and roaring which looked like they were on the go. But the vets kept things quiet and eventually scored through a solo run by Wai Choong. Things got a little rough towards the end with the older guys pushing and tackling with frustration. Match ended 4-2 to the vets.

Verdict:
Vets got on with it. Defense were water tight (the 2 goals were down to individual mistake), offside trapping were good, long balls were cleared efficiently. Midfield was strong, passing was crisp and steady, got to play at our own tempo. Strikers a little bit off target but still made opponent chase like dogs. Keeper were steady. It was a good match for us.
