This must be somewhere around Kaitaia. The journey to Cape Reinga is full of sceneries like this which you would never grow tired of.

On the way back from Cape Reinga, I drove into Te Paki just for a look at the sand dune. I could not believe my eyes when I climbed up the mountain of sand, the dune stretches as far as your eyes can see.

I did not feel like walking further into the dune as I was alone and without any mobile phone signal, but this place was pretty amazing.
