Thursday, February 11, 2010 ORD LO! Forget everything that happened in the past!!! New man, New life! I doubt i will be updating much anymore.. lazy ah.. now blogs not popular le.. :( Thursday, December 17, 2009 Sigh.. this whole week was pretty boring as im clearing my leaves.. that's the reason why im always at facebook. to actually start understamd whats the hype about the facebook and is it really worth the time.. and sad to say, it receives a positive verdict from me.. its a great networking site to look for friends and link up with old friends from the past. and certainly a good site to organise events and stuff like that.. but it had been a very saddening moment in my life as i gone through all my hard discs, online photo servers and whatever storage drives i have to upload all my photos that i have taken in the past all the way from secondary school to tpjc til now ns. it had been very refreshing to see all the photos of my friends and how i have neglected them when moving on to new phases of life, especially the army. it had been very saddening for the most part because i really miss the people i was with last time.. my squadmate whom we had gone through thick and thin together for 4 years.. not even army could beat that. and trust me, there are lots of times when the treatment during the 4 years npcc was much worse than army.. i really miss the times spent during that 4 years together during np trainings and outings... jc times.. yea.. lots of things happened.. i got attached.. and detached recently.. but i really miss her.. she's a really great girl and its very heartbreaking on my part to agree to break up and be just friends.. i really really miss her.. it had been a very lonely road for me nowadays.. no one really cares.. no one to really confide in.. but myself.. it really is stressful in army at times and i really really believe the level of stress here can be as much as university life.. and no one, i repeat, no one will really understand ns except for the guys who have gone through the shit themselves.. besides that, i also really miss times in interact club in tpjc.. a lot times were spent organising charity camps, camps and all these.. i really miss planning, working and having fun with the people in interact, especially the exco members.. they are a very great bunch of people to be with, always looking out for one another and encouraging one another.. sigh...... once in the army, its like every man for himself.. every single bald headed human being in the army is just wishing for the inevitable but long ord date. and such, many dont give shit about the army. i do give shit about the army. i understand the need for ns and the need to protect this great city we came to know as singapore. its really tiring and difficult to deal with people who just have the heck-care attitude, especially when im the one supposed to be changing their perspective of army and to serve the nation well, not only for the 2 years, but also for the 10 reservist years until we are put into mindef reserve.. friends come and go in the army.. there are really no fixed friends in the army, unless u are at a unit life where u see the 6 other guys for quite some time. even if so, its still only a year plus and honestly, most of them are more active in their civilian life to actually go out much with the own army mates.. having said that, that doesnt means each and every single male in the army do not care. i have a few friends in my unit right now that actually im thankful for, for always being there by my side to support and encourage me.. people i train with to improve my physique and people i talk to when im feeling down.. these people are rare to find in the army and im appreciate them a lot... thank you guys.. facebook is a good application but its took risky to post certain stuff. this is certainly one of them and should only be suited in a blog. in MY blog, where hardly anyone view.. but its a very good form of penning down my thoughts and feelings along my way of life. zzz.. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 Now that's a very ungrateful princess! Sunday, December 13, 2009 Tiong Bahru Challenge! This event was held at the HDB area near Tiong Bahru CC. Pretty small scale event as there are only around 300 participants. However, still, its quite busy for the organisers as there's not many volunteers around. quite impressive to see senior citizens doing marshall.. must be tiring for them to stand in the sun holding a red flag. ![]() anyway this is a 5km run followed by a 30 storeys climb up block 4A. FREAKING BUILDING HAS 30 FLOORS! lol.. and during the race itself, we are required to climb the overhead bridge so yea.. i climbed 32 in total! not 30! lol.. When reached the 8th floor.. i remember i was like dizzy and all.. blur liao.. lol.. nv do this before.. so super crazy shag.. so damn tired.. the run is very home-made.. as in like its not those professional races like standard chart all these.. the finisher numbers all written using marker... the bag deposit area is simply behind the mailboxes with elder volunteers using normal tape to write our bib number and paste on our bag... even the lucky draw prizes are very homely.. the top prize is a 2-in-1 coffee maker cum toaster!! woohoo!! if i win i duno how to carry back.. pretty interesting run.. im sure i will go train up and join again next year!! timimng was 37 min -.- so slow. top runner was 19. D: ![]() ![]() Sunday, December 06, 2009 Alright i am a huge fan of Left 4 dead so it wont be a surprise that i was waiting for L4D 2 to be released! and now it's out, i've gotten it and i have to say it totally rocks! Left 4 Dead 2 is designed as a much more continuous story than the original game, with more tie-ins between campaigns. The team has expressed a desire to improve the storytelling without adding bulky narrative devices like a deluge of cutscenes. To do this, the Survivors will be round characters—over the course of the campaigns, their personalities and relationships will change. There will be more back-and-forth interactions and running jokes. Some lines or conversations will happen very rarely. Also, each campaign will have a brief introduction cinematic that helps to bridge the gaps. The campaigns are set in the American Southeast, around a week after the events of the original game (and three weeks after first infection). In some places, the infection is not as pervasive as in the Northeast, and at the very beginning, Savannah, GA (the location of the first campaign) has not been completely affected yet. The Survivors do not know each other at the beginning. They meet in Savannah and make their way west to New Orleans, LA, where they attempt to reach a military outpost. The military takes a much greater role in the new storyline. The infection has progressed past the point of CEDA’s control, so the military has decided to take more aggressive measures. There will be evidence of “humans turning on humans”—violent tension between the military and survivors who wish to enter the safe zones. In some places, Survivors may see downed helicopters or uninfected human bodies. This comes in stark contrast to the current L4D, which has a decidedly bleaker outlook with no show of a cohesive defense. Despite this conflict, Chet has specifically said that Survivors will not be firing at other humans. Here's the trailer: L4d2 pretty much has everyting that l4d one has plus a lot more.. There are 4 new characters!! Aww.. i will miss zoey, bill, louise and the biker guy whose name i forgot lol. ![]() Rochelle ![]() Nick ![]() Ellis ![]() Coach Weapon wise, they included a lot more variety such as ak, grenade launcher etc.. and also the introduction of melee weapons! its quite fun to be smashing the infected with guitars, frying pans and the kantana, just to name a few.. ![]() The electric guitar ![]() The axe Gameplay wise.. hmmm.. very difficult. when u are playing with 3 bots that is. its not as straight forward as l4d, where u proceed throughout the 5 maps in the campaign and the last part defeat 2 tanks and escape. now there are a lot more requirement.. for example, start at map 1, the aim is to collect the gas tank to power up the escape boat beside u and the tank is located near the 4th map. so once collecting it, have to backtrack all the way back to the first map where the finale event triggers. this was simple already! another map i played required me to collect 16 gas tanks to power up the escape vehicle (wtf?) for the finale. they are scattered all over and its difficult to find, pick up and bring to the boat 1 at a time with so many infected attacking you!! Special infected wise, there are more of them. the spitter, the charger, the jockey. i think these are the 3 new ones, together with the boomer, smoker, hunter and tank are out there to kill u! ![]() The jockey ![]() The spitter ![]() The charger Overall, i would say this game is great and refreshing. and a lot a lot more realistic than l4d1. as most of the buildings can be entered and are not just there as a background. very very realistic indeed =] The pictures i get from here. So can also look up more info there!! Friday, November 27, 2009 Yesterday was my birthday! ok apart from the well wishes from my beloved friends, i nv celebrate anyway.. lol.. so this blog's not gonna be how i celebrate my birthday and blablabla stuff.. Yesterday was my army school's anniversary at which we nad a cohesion event located at Fort canning park called Impulse. Basically its just an amazing race within city area.. sounds easy but it certainly shagged us out because of all the runnings between checkpoints.. ![]() ![]() The amazing race started at around 8am.. our first checkpoint was the YMCA building.. we ran there and the station was to answer a few "simple" questions.. An example would be "What are the names of the 2 British warships that were destroyed during the WWII?". Simple indeed... Anyway we got a few wrong and end up doing none other than the YMCA dance.. kinda embarrasing to dance that in public, with so many school girls walking around and we are like all guys LOL.. ![]() There's a lot other weird and some stupid missions like some make-shift twister game involving all parts of our body at the open field in front of the padang! And the clues given for the location of each checkpoint weren't the most brillant thing too.. some were easy.. such as a photo of a lady with musical instrument which i immediately guessed correctly - Victoria Concert Hall.. others were freaking hard like a photo of 8 girls wearing CHIJ uniform. We nearly went to CHIJ Katong!!! but we knew that this game was not supposed to be the whole island.. and in the end wat was it? Its the Chijmes restaurant!!! like wtf. pwned. ![]() Some random baby we took in our of our mission there's was this station where we had to play chariots.. think was in front of the.. nvm forgot. anyway they had to act out PAP. my csm was like showing a lightning sign with a circle around it. everyone else was like wtf? then smart me blurted out the first thing that came to my mind which was PAP. also duno why i realise that lol.. but yea.. this amazing race is actually fun.. but very tiring.. ![]() Dragon group photo we took before we left the fort canning centre ![]() ORD lo! ![]() PL 3! ![]() after that we went to watch Case 39. Kanna cheated sia.. all along the few of us who were not involved in the ticket buying thought that we were going to watch Ninja Assassin.. then we went into the theatre and when the show started, we were like "did we entered the wrong hall?" lol.. and Case 39 was kinda sick.. not even scary. its just sick.. and to think guys like ridzwan and eugene had their eyes and ears covered!!! so embarrassing lol.. Here's a trailer.. My sis's friend got a staff voucher to this Nike Factory shop at West Coast Plaza.. so i followed them thereto see what great purchases i can get for myself! and i got like a pair of running shoes, a bag and a windbreaker!! lol.. im broke.. haha.. my sis' friends bought a lot stuff.. in the end total cost around $1400+ but i was shocked to see that after the shop discount + voucher discount, $890 was minused off!!! wow.. thats like half of what we bought were free!! woohoo!! The shoes Discounted price: $89.90 --> $53.94! ![]() ![]() The bag Discounted price: $51.70 --> $31.02 ![]() ![]() The windbreaker Discounted price: $47.60 --> $28.44 Sunday, November 22, 2009 Aviation Run 2009 Daniel, Chun Hwee and i joined the 10km run.. its free anyway lol >.< We arrived there super early.. to put bag and the usuals.. the fricking flag off was at 0830 hours.. so super late la... the sun already up liao.. before the racestart already shag le.. D: and the "warm up" was tiring too.. the reason why i put the " " is because its more like the Great Singapore Work Out to us lol.. we joined in at the start but halfway through went to do our SAF-style warm up xD Finally.. time for the flag off.. at around 0825 hours we gathered at the start point. Not too front, not too back either.. BEEP. some weird sound went off and same thing as usual... ppl starts overtaking us.. then we start overtaking some... lol.. then maintain a steady pace.. Everytime before i join i always not scared of 10km runs.. but during the run always feel like crap.. legs aching.. but i still like it LOL.. Halfway through, dan ps us (as usual).. like re-actment of the army half marathon.. lol.. so in the end its ch and me again.. we jogged slowly.. stopping at every water point to replenish our water in the body.. then walk a bit talk cock then continue.. Finally! the 5km turning point.. shiok! but that also indicates that its only half way SIAN! anyway we turned and continued.. we saw someone fainted on the other side.. what bothered me most was that on the way here.. i hardly see any medics around.. seeing that there's nothing we can do.. we continued.. and i think it was a good 10 min before hearing the sirens of the ambulance.. let's hope he's ok.. (or she) Last 3km! time was around 0915 hours.. the sun was super hot and seriously.. feel like in the oven! and this part is the part where there's no trees, nothing! just a very large highway from the main road to the changi exhibition centre.. what we see in front and behind is same one.. just road and more road.. a lot a lot of the 5km runners (or walkers) already gave up and are just slowly walking.. some are even carrying umbrellas!!! CH and me perservered.. zig zaging past everyone and continue.. but the sun was seriously killing us... When we eventually reached the end point, it was quite disappointing to see the timing past the 1:00:00 mark.. but nvm la.. we tried our best.. =/ Lucky draw! the top prize is a 2 ways trip to London! and we din won anything. lol.. alright.. done with the run.. now what? actually nothing. nowadays i always stay at home.. more freedom now that im single.. stay at home playing with my cards.. practising my magics and xcms.. but i know stay at home useless one.. i need to go out and actually perform to get experience and get better.. but hard la nowadays.. seeing that cant even bring cards to camp.. heck la.. next time.. oh btw, 85 more days to ord! woo hoo!! later going to the airport to pick up my sister, coming back from thailand.. think like 3 days only.. so short lol.. but then again, whats there to do at thailand anyway.. alright i think thats all for this update.. im tired anyway.. cant think of anything.. Sunday, October 25, 2009 Yay back from the extreme obese's field camp!! 5 day outfield is so damn boring.. especially when u are the one teaching and not the one learning.. some more need to camo on everyday.. zzz.. meep.! whatever. its over. last field camp for me. ord. =] oh yea when going back to coyline, i was just casually checking myself in case i accidentally take any ammos back.. then suddenly, this black thing jumped out and my goodness! its a scorpion! omg.. if i din check, it could had stayed there and bit me!and like centipede, its dangerous and could be fatal!! oh well.. im lucky!! and did i mentioned im lucky?? 5 days din rain and today rained like shit!! lol.. oh well.. its so so boring.. at home.. zz.. update: whew! done flashing my psp firmware to 5.50 gen-d2!! lucky no problem!! Saturday, October 17, 2009 Watch this sad sad korean video.. its so sad.... sigh.. Sunday, September 27, 2009 Here's a very bad prank suggested from WMF. Just for fun, a cute little prank for all you mentalists out there. You need a victim. How about Bob. You go for a walk with Bob. During that you perform a few mental experiments. Phone number, name of Bob's cat, number of sexual intercourse per year. The usual. Then, suddenly, you drop on your knees and mention with a weak voice, that something terrible will happen. Bob will ask what. The answer: "Your mother will die today." Bob will probably be a bit angry for this very, very inappropriate joke. But a few minutes later, Bob gets a call on his cell phone. His brother is calling to tell him, that their mother has been rushed to hospital. Directly after the call you drop on your knees again with a tight chest, puling: "Bob, your mother is dead now." Dramatically convenient Bob's cell phone rings in this moment of awkward silence. His mother is calling: "Greetings... from the Grave!" At that point in time you should resolve the prank, by running away as fast as possible, thanking Bob's brother and mother for participating. Dont try it though! |
