..August 2009..

It's been a while since we last updated, but things have been a bit crazy around our home! Jimmy has been working a lot and playing with Eve in the evenings. He also wakes up for diaper changes in the middle of the night!
I celebrated my 26th birthday on July 22nd. Since Eve was still a little too young to take out to a restaurant, we ordered out from The Cheesecake Factory and watched movies at home. It was a great birthday!
On August 2nd Jimmy got a chance to spend time with Mariella since she was up here to visit. They had a great time and she is really starting to enjoy his company. Eve and I did not go with Jimmy since his mother was sick and we did not want to take a chance with Eve still being so young. Here are a few pictures from the time they spent together

We took Eve down to San Diego on the weekend of August 6th. We saw our friends and met their new addition that was born 3 months earlier than Eve. We had a great time and got a chance to go down to La Jolla and see some sea lions. Even though Eve slept the entire time, i'm sure she would have enjoyed it!
Today was Eve's 2 month check up with her pediatrician and she also got her shots. She now weighs 13 lbs. 11.4 oz and she is 24 1/2 in. long or 2 ft. 0.5 in. She is in the 96 percentile for her weight and in the 97 percentile for her height! Her doctor said that she is a very healthy, happy and strong little baby!
Eve has also been enjoying her "tummy time" and she has started exploring. She "discovered" her feet last week and has now become fascinated with them.
I have enjoyed being able to have the privilege of staying home with Eve. After being home with her these past 2 months I don't think I could stand being away from her to go to work! Eve and I enjoy our outings during the week to Babies R Us or to the mall to walk around-since it is still a bit hot outside to take Eve to the parks. I'm hoping to start taking her next month when its a bit cooler and she's a bit more awake during the day!
Next month we are going to the California State Fair in Sacramento and then later in the month we are going to take Eve to get her ears pierced. We'll be sure to post pictures!

..Introducing : Eve Ysabelle Araceli Nevarez..

Our little Princess finally arrived, not on her own, but through induction! She was born on June 16, 2009 at 3:31pm weighing 7lbs. 9oz. and 21in.
We arrived at the hospital at 7pm on June 15th and they started the induction around 10:30pm. I was later started on pitocin. At 1:30pm on June 16th I started pushing and after an exhausting 3 hours she finally arrived.
Our lives have changed so much, but it's all for the better. Eve has been such an amazing joy to have in our lives and we are looking forward to all her "firsts".
All three of us have a lot to learn, but we're taking it one day and nap at a time! It's amazing how much she's already grown after a month.

..Waiting..

I was due last saturday, June 6 and it's now Wednesday afternoon and there is still no baby action. I had an appointment yesterday and everything was great - except for my blood pressure, which was a little high. I had to get some lab work done, but luckily everything turned out great. Unless i have her before the 15th, i will be induced on the 15th at 7pm.
Jimmy has been working hard trying to get everything in order before he takes next week off for the arrival of our bundle of joy and i am finishing up last minute things around the house.
I'm just praying for a good labor and delivery along with a speedy recovery since we are moving into our new apartment July 1st. It doesn't give us much time, but i am glad to be moving into a 2 bedroom apartment in a better area of San Jose.
In addition to the new baby, Jimmy recently found out he is the father of a little girl from a previous relationship. Her name is Mariella and she was born on March 5, 2008. She is adorable and we hope to get to know her better, but it is hard since her mother is in the U.S. Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton in southern California. We recently met Mariella the sunday before Memorial day. It was very hard for Jimmy because since she is so young, she doesn't know who he is and naturally she favors her mother. We're hoping things change so she can start having a relationship with him as well as our little one.
That is pretty much all that is going on with us right now. But as soon as the baby comes i'm sure we will have a lot more going on!
