TIME OUT #73 - Inspired By Words

We have the last challenge of 2016 at Time Out now - the year has just flown by! This week we are inspired by the following words:

'With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning'

This is the perfect quote as we are coming up to a new year and new beginnings...

Our wonderful Guest Designer this week is Marina from My Perfect Life  so make you check out how she was inspired by these words...

We are very lucky to have Stamplorations sponsoring us for this challenge - they have generously agreed to give a gift voucher to the winner and to the honourable mentions!

Here is my card:

For my card, I decided to embrace one of my crafty New Year's resolutions (it seemed fitting for the quote!) which is to use my stash. The tree picture was a vellum journal card that I have had in my stash forever... I thought that it would look pretty with a sunrise behind it. I used some alcohol inks on glossy card stock to create the vibrant sunrise - and then layered the vellum on top.

How will you be inspired? Take some Time Out to join us....

TIME OUT #72 - CASEing Kim

I can't believe this is the second last TIME OUT CASE challenge of the year - 2016 has just flown by! This week, we are CASE-ing Kim from Cupcakes, Cards, and Kim - I am sure that you are already familiar with her gorgeous cards but if not, make sure you stop by her blog for some wonderful inspiration.

Here is the card she gave us to CASE - so pretty!!!

We also have a great Guest Designer - Deepti from Handmade by Deepti - she is a regular TIME OUT player who always has great cards so we are thrilled to have her join us this week!

Here is my take on the challenge:

I loved the tangle of flowers on Kim's card - it brought to mid a tangle of Christmas lights so that is what I wanted to do. Unfortunately, I did not have a tangle of lights stamp though so I used a string of lights stamp from Your Next Stamp, and stamped them repeatedly across the card front - shifting them on each row to make it appear as though they were different strings. I coloured the lights with Copics - using the same colours that Kim chose for her card - and I coated each bulb with a generous layer of clear Spectrum Noir shimmer. I added a white embossed Mama Elephant greeting on a black circle - I thought the scripty style of the greeting mirrored the CASE card too.

I can't wait to see how Kim's card inspires you - so take some TIME OUT and join us!

Congrats!

I had a little bit of time for crafting today and it was really nice to make a non-holiday card for a change! This stamp set from Lil Inkers has been asking to be inked up for quite a while and I finally go around to it :) I stamped the circles in SSS Intense Black Ink and coloured with my W&N ProMarkers. I did cover the finished colouring with Spectrum Noir shimmer but it doesn't really show up in the picture. The greeting is from Altenew - one of my favourite greeting sets - Label Love.

I will link up to a couple of challenges:
