Fireworks

So I am unofficially giving myself the title of the WORST BLOGGER. EVER. I know, I know I could easily make up some excuse about being busy or never having time, but the fact of the matter is that I just forget. I love looking at everyone's blogs so I just need to do my part. I guess.

Today I just want to share something I have learned while working at 30,000+ ft.:

Fireworks aren't just set off on 4th of July and New Year's. It seems that on any given evening, and in any part of the country I can look out the aircraft window and see fireworks. I used to think it must be some holiday that I wasn't aware of, but now I just ponder what the celebration could be about- here are a few of my ideas:

- One of the really rich super sweet 16 girls had daddy buy a fireworks show for her birthday party
- A fireworks factory actually went up in flames (it could happen)
- Sporting events where the sport isn't exciting enough they have to promise fireworks at the end...
- Ski resorts- don't they randomly set of fireworks? I vaguely remember seeing fireworks at Steamboat- or was that up in Idaho? Anyway this never seemed like a good idea to me with all the avalanche danger and such, but whatever...
- They could be practicing for a real fireworks show on a real holiday

I have been to some amazing fireworks shows, and for whatever reason I just love them! One particular 4th of July when I was in High School we watched the show from our boat out on a lake- maybe it was the reflection of the colors in the water, but it just seemed amazing! I also happened to be in Gunnisson, CO for many July 4ths, and they have a big show in the university's stadium. It is definately a different experience to watch from above the fireworks, but also cool!

Copenhagen and Ireland

So these past two months have breezed by! I think some days vaporized off the calander before I even woke up! Josh and I have been having some pretty amazing adventures:

I spent 10 days in Copenhagen, Denmark with my Dad....

On the ferry to Sweden...

The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson

Another one by H.C.

We went to the Blue Lagoon on a stop in Iceland

Josh and I also took a quick trip to Ireland to celebrate the end of another semester and the start of summer!

Of course Josh played a lil golf..... when in Ireland!

We rented a very little car and had fun remembering to stay on the wrong side of the road!

S0 yeah- I've put in a lot of miles over the past 2 months! Josh and I have been having a great time and we have several more trips planned!

We are staying in our current apartment and Josh Cheney and Johnny are moving in to the upstairs apartment. Speaking of Johnny he should be home from Iraq next week. We are so excited we can hardly wait to have him safe and home for longer than 2 weeks!

TRAVELS

So- I am ready to get serious about this whole blog thing... at least I'm gonna try.

This has been a crazy semester, but we have definately been finding time to have some fun! Josh and I spent a week at my sister's just outside of Seattle. She basically lives on a golf course so Josh was out there everyday! We also took my niece to a climbing gym in Olympia.

I also spent a weekend with my sisters in Little Rock for my sister's bridal shower. It was fun to hang out and be with the girls!
Now we are packing up our apartment- we MIGHT be moving out...... The landlord MIGHT be selling the house so we are just getting ready. At the very least it will have been a very thorough spring cleaning even if we don't end up moving.

Next week I am going to ditch Josh and his finals to make a trip to Copenhagen to visit my dad. Then Josh and I are are going to Ireland in May- as a little celebration for his MCAT being done! I'm sure we are going to take a few more trips this summer to visit possible medical schools, and we are also spending a week on a houseboat in Arkansas to celebrate my sister's wedding in July.

Fun times!

Hunt Update

Ok- so I had to get in on this whole blog thing, but I don't really know what to say!

So- I will settle for an update....

I am still working for JetBlue as a flight attendant. It has been about 2 1/2 years and I am hoping to be there for another 2 1/2. It is really hard to leave Ellie and Josh, but the job is easy and I have been so grateful to support my wonderful husband through this crazy busy time in his life.

So to Josh- right now he is going to the University of Utah , and he has only one more semester! He will graduate with a degree in Spanish in the fall. His main job is being a research intern for an IHC doctor. He is also managing the rock wall at Dick's Sporting Goods and during the winter he ski's 1-2 times a week for a firm that takes surveys for Ski Utah the magazine. Josh is also the survivorship chairperson for the Salt Lake Relay for Life and the stake assistant scout master! Until this semester he had been volunteering at the U of U hospital interpreting Spanish for the doctors. So now you know what I mean when I say that Josh is crazy busy! For those who don't know- Josh did have a bout with testicular cancer about a year and a half ago. He proved that he was strong and resilliant- keeping up a full school schedule and continuing to work and volunteer! Now he is cancer free and healthy as ever!

Ellie is our puppy. We got her just after Josh finished radiation a year ago, so she isn't really a puppy anymore, but she's still our little girl. We got her from an animal rescue so we don't really know, but we think she is mostly a pitbull. She is a great dog- she has made us believers that pitbulls make great pets!

Thanks for reading! Hopefully I will have more exciting posts in the future!
