For some reason, robins love the Williams' home. As many of you know, we had a robin nest on our porch last year. She laid and hatched four babies. At first I thought it was great, but reality quickly set in.
That mama bird would dive bomb anyone who came near. For four weeks we were afraid to use the front door. Then there's the issue of the poop.....oh the poop! Poop galore on the front porch and my decorations. I did not enjoy mother natures miracle. In fact, I pretty much swooshed the last baby out of the nest. The rest were gone, so I figured it would be fine on its own. Then, I cleaned up the porch and threw the nest away.
Well, after that experience, you better believe that I have been very vigilant on watching for any signs of nesting around the front porch. No way am I going through that again!
So, Jason was out checking the central air units today and was attacked by a robin. Upon further investigation, we found this little nest of birdies up in a pine tree. It was too tall for me to see in it, so with Jason covering me, I went in for the pic! Look what we have.
I can appreciate the beauty so much more when the poop stays in the bushes and the killer, dive-bombing parents stay on the side of the house where no one really ever walks. Love it!
