Being a Mother is not easy.

I was reading through a friends blog and found this. It brought tears to my eyes because it was just one of those weeks when it seemed I could not make anyone happy no matter what I did. My older kid's mad at me for making them clean their room (which took them hours upon hours until they realized I was not about to give in) Kamryn throwing fits at the pool, store and front yard and it seemed to be in front of a million people who were obviously NOT impressed. This was a great recharge for me, this is so that I can read it and remind myself we are all in the same boat. Some days good others not but at the end of the day if everyone is safe and sound I am one very happy and blessed Mom.

This is in honor of all of the mothers in the world, what they do and mean to us, and the courage it takes to be a mother. May every day be your Mother's Day...

All Of The Mothers

-- Anonymous

This is for all the mothers who probably won't win Mother of the Year. All the runners-up and all the wannabes. The mothers too tired to enter or too busy to care. This is for all the mothers who froze their buns off on metal bleachers at soccer games Friday night instead of watching from cars, so that when their kids asked, "Did you see my goal?" they could say, "Of course, wouldn't have missed it for the world," and mean it.This is for all the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up barf laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying, "It's OK, honey, Mommy's here." This is for all the mothers of Kosovo who fled in the night and can't find their children. This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and made them homes. For all the mothers of the victims of the Colorado shooting, and the mothers of the murderers. For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school, safely. For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers who DON'T.What makes a good Mother anyway? Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips? The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time? Or is it heart? Is it the ache you feel when you watch your son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time? The jolt that takes you from sleep to dread, from bed to crib at 2 A.M. to put your hand on the back of a sleeping baby? The need to flee from wherever you are and hug your child when you hear news of a school shooting, a fire, a car accident, a baby dying? So this is for all the mothers who sat down with their children and explained all about making babies. And for all the mothers who wanted to, but just couldn't. This is for reading "Goodnight, Moon" twice a night for a year...And then reading it again, "Just one more time."This is for all the mothers who mess up. Who yell at their kids in the grocery store and swat them in despair and stomp their feet like a tired 2-year-old who wants ice cream before dinner. This is for all the mothers who taught their daughters to tie their shoelaces before they started school. And for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead. For all the mothers who bite their lips - sometimes until they bleed - when their 14 year olds dye their hair green. Who lock themselves in the bathroom when babies keep crying and won't stop. This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse. This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot. This is for all mothers whose heads turn automatically when a little voice calls mom?" in a crowd, even though they know their own offspring are at home. This is for mothers who put pinwheels and teddy bears on their children's graves. This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them. This is for all the mothers who sent their sons to school with stomach aches, assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse and hour later asking them to please pick them up. Right away. This is for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation. And mature mothers learning to let go. For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers. Single mothers and married mothers. Mothers with money, mothers without. This is for all of you. Hang in there, and know that you are loved and needed.

What have we all been up to....

In May and June we had two big weddings in our family that we were all apart of. We are so happy to have these two additions to our family I don't think we could have hand picked better people. Jett's baby brother David got married to cute Brynn, such a gorgeous wedding and so much fun. My cousin Kailey was married to Chase beautiful as well and we had such a fun time meeting his family. The Romano's went to our annual Cherry Hill camping in Mom and Dad's trailer of course we had a blast!

Jett was the coach of Riley's baseball team so as you can imagine that alone kept him super busy besides work and everything else he does. We love you and thank you for being such hard worker!

As for me I am so glad school is out for a few weeks for Summer and we have so many fun things planned. Life is crazy but at the end of the day I am so happy we are busy, happy and everyone is healthy! Here are a few pictures to show it all off...

What's been going on with Kamryn...

Kamryn has been swimming, camping, to baseball games, dance recitals and rehearsals, had many baby sitters and then back again! We have learned many things about Kam since she has been walking as long as she has her own space to do her own thing she is good to go, treats are a must, she does NOT like to be splashed with water, does not like fireworks and people dressed up in animal suits are great from afar. Seriously she is such a trooper and we can't wait to see what she will be into when her time comes but we are all guessing it will be DANCE! Kamryn loves music and will dance for anyone at the drop of a hat, we went to Riverton Days and she danced her guts out the whole time with her Dad. They drew in a crowd, it was so much fun!

Kam had her chance to ride a horse at Riverton Days but like the mascots...it was good from afar but she wanted no part of riding it. So she settled on watching Kalli and waving and saying "Hi horsey" over and over again. She is such a spit fire and keeps us on our toes, we would not change a thing about her. Thanks for always making us laugh and keeping us entertained, we love you!!

What's been going on with Kalli...

Kalli has finished Kindergarten and had such a fun year! She was in a class with a few of her good friends and made plenty more before the year ended. She loved Mrs. Titus and we are so greateful she is so patient considering our Kalli LOVES to talk. Hey we will take it talking we can handle :) I had the opportunity to go on her year end field trip with her class to This is the Place Heritage Park. We have never been there and I have to say it was very neat! They got to play in little playhouses, pet baby animals, get their face shaved and do chores as the pioneers had to do them. I had such a fun time spending that time with her and getting to know her classmates.

Kalli has quite the love for dancing and this year took from Tiffany Dance Co. She has loved every minute of it and we absolutely loved her year end show. Her class did two dances HOT, HOT, HOT and STRONGEST SUIT such cute dances. Kalli has come along ways since 3 years old and crying on the stage now she can't get enough. She just made the Mini-Stars team at her new dance company so we will have many more posts about dance. We are so proud of you Kalli girl!

We all know Kalli has a huge heart especially for animals so when she was given the opportunity to ride a horse named DOUGHBOY she jumped for joy. She had a huge smile on her face the whole time and took such great care of Bostynn while they went for a ride. Thanks for sharing Taggart's!

What's been going on with Riley.....

So it has been awhile since I have posted. These past few months have been so incredibly busy and have just flown by so I just thought I would take a minute to talk about what we have been doing...I will give each one their own post starting from our oldest!

Riley -

If you know Riley you know he LOVES sports this past year he was given the opportunity to play Super League baseball with the Utah Havoc. He had the time of his life he met a whole bunch of new friends and this team was instantly bonded they were such a cute group of boy's who loved an supported eachother through the good and bad times. The Havoc played in many tournaments from St. George to Park City and back, such fun memories and we met such great people. The boy's had a chance to do the Field of Dreams with the Bee's (that was so neat it needs it's own post). Such a fun season!
Riley also wrapped up 3rd grade, he had one of the greatest teachers I have ever met Mrs. Lewis. One of the highlights of this year was when they had to do a biography report he chose to do it on Jackie Robinson. He has just been so interested in why many years ago ( I guess is should say it unfortuntely still continues today) people did not except people of all races, we have watched Remember the Titans, Glory Road, etc. Before the school year was over they had to do a wax museum on their famous person it was so incredible those kid's knew their stuff, totally impressed. Thank you Mrs. Lewis for believing in Riley and pushing him, you are such a wonderful teacher who goes above and beyond!
Riley met his pal Jonah on the baseball team. We have so enjoyed getting to know the Taggart family they have horses and invited the kid's to come and take a ride. So know my kid's want a horse...I told them to ask Grandpa and Grandma...ha ha!!

Well our house is just filled with birthday, in fact, there are 3 in less than a month. Kalli Michelle turned 6 and as I am telling her she needs to STOP getting so old she says "Well I will be 7 now in less than a year", OK thanks can't a Mom just have a minute to get used to you being a year older? She was so excited to have a PARTY and decided she wanted a HAWAIIAN LUAU. They played musical chairs, the limbo, pin the coconut on the tree and had a fabulous flip flop pinata. Kalli,

Since the day you came into our lives you have brought us so much joy. You have quite the personality and keep us laughing all the time. You have such a BIG heart and keep everyone in order at all times. I could not be any more proud of you, it is so much fun to watch you grow and become a little lady. You are as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside and that is the biggest joy we have, always stay that way. This year you have started kindergarten, which you just have excelled in now if you could only stop talking and get your work done. You are so proud to go to school with your brother, I love that you always hug him when you see him (even if he gets embarrassed) he loves it to. I hope you three will always remain close. Happy 6Th Birthday to our princess, I love you so much!!

Love,

Mom

Kamryn is 1 !!

On October 7th our baby girl turned ONE. We have had such a fun first year with our Kam, she has brought so much love and joy into our lives. We just had one huge family birthday bash and she loved everything from opening presents, to her very own cupcake and especially all the attention. I can't leave out that she did shed some tears, of course, what it a birthday without them. Thank you to everyone for making her birthday so, so special!!

Our Kamryn has a very fiery personality and yes, she keeps us on our toes all day long but we would not change a thing about her. She has always been determined to do things on her own so it has been such a joy to watch her figure it out and while she has alot of melt downs until she can get it figured out she always get's it in the end. Kamryn was walking well before she turned one and I truly think there is nothing better than watching her waddle her way through life now. Kamryn LOVES our dog Maggie in fact, Maggie was one of her very first words. She is our little jibber jabber everything is Dad, Riley, Maggie, Paddie (trying to say Pattie cake) and even Mom and Kalli made her list recently YAY!!

Kamryn,

We all just adore everything about you and are so very blessed to have you in our family. You have blessed our lives in so many more ways than you even know. Your brother and sister think you are the greatest and just love when you will let them hold and talk to you. It is so fun to watch the three of you get to know eachother and watch that bond form. You love your Daddy so much and have him wrapped around your little finger. You and Kalli just have a way of melting his heart. I am so grateful to be your Mom, it is so fun to have a little one on one time with you while everyone else is at school. I feel so lucky to have had that with each of you. Our lives would not be the same without you and our family would most definetly not be complete. You make us all laugh and smile each every day. We love you and can't wait to watch you grow!!

Love, Mom
