Meet The Pirate Fairy, the latest Tinker Bell movie and chosen theme for ME's 5th birthday celebration. Now, as we were discussing birthday party options Tinker Bell came up pretty quickly. I love to search online for party images of cakes, decorations, food, favors, etc, and it's fun to let ME get in on the fun. She wanted to look at costumes, so I opened the Disney Store webpage, and there it was...the Zarina costume. Zarina is the fairy gone bad pirate in the movie, until she turns over a new leaf at the end of the movie...it is Disney of course. So, ME immediately wanted to be the bad girl pirate. I was like, "What about Tinker Bell? Don't you want to be Tinker Bell? What about Frozen? A Frozen party would be so much fun!" But no, she was turning 5, had her 5 year old opinions, and she wanted to be the PIRATE fairy. So, she basically had a boy party with a Tinker Bell cake and some fairies mixed in. ;) It was the most "interesting" party I've planned so far, but of course I had fun with it! Y'all know I love to throw a good party! And she did look stinkin' cute in that costume. Thanks, Mia!

I may have gone a little overboard with quadrupling the pirate past recipe. |

I cracked myself up with this food card. Actually, I couldn't come up with anything more clever. Brad asked me about it, and I said, "They're rrrrolls!" like any good pirate would say. He said I was a nerd. ;) I like to call it "detail-oriented." |
|
We ordered a big platter of Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets to go with the rolls. Everybody loves a good chicken mini! |
|
And here comes the pirate theme |
|
I found foam pirate swords and hats and eyepatches in the $1 bins at Target! And added some fairy wings for the girls for dress-up. |
|
Rhett's Jack and the Neverland pirates ship was a centerpiece on the patio table. |
|
Rick's outdid themselves once again! |

Cutest pirates ever |

Pirate for Halloween? |

Ranjo was the first one to get in the dress-up stuff. |

Rhett ran around like a wild man during the party. I was too busy to keep a good eye on him, and he got in all kinds of trouble. First, the foam sword was just too much. He couldn't handle not whacking everyone with it. Then, there was the candy that flowed from the pinata. I have no idea how much candy he actually consumed. Then, during presents he opened and ate one of those silica gel packets that came in ME's new purse. You know that stuff in the little white bags that they put in purses to keep them fresh, and it says "Don't eat." He ate it, all, the whole package. With his back turned to me, I thought he was going candy crazy and opening a package of gum. But by the time I realized what it was and did a mouth scoop with my finger, it was all gone. Why is he almost 3 and still eating stuff that isn't food? Is he iron deficient or something? He was totally un-phased by it. But I missed the remainder of ME's present opening, because I was on the phone with poison control. Turns out it was harmless. They just put "do no eat" on the package because it's not food. Hear that, Rhett? And it is a choking hazard. Anyway... |

Anna finished it off. |

Time for presents! |
|
She LOVES her Tinker Bell music box. I made a mistake and told both grandmother's that she wanted one, so of course she got two! ;) |

You told me so many times, "Thank you, Mommy, for making my birthday party so special!" I love that! And I love you! What a fun and memorable day celebrating you! You are so loved, more than you could ever imagine! Thanks to our wonderful family for partying with us!
