7 Random Facts About ME!!

I have never done this before but my cute friends April and Rindsey tagged me so here it is:

1. I'm out of control about having a trash bag in every single trash can in the house, I think it's so gross when trash can's don't have a liner just because of the random things that people put in there that can stick to the bottom and not come out. There must be trash bags!

2. So, I'm a firm believer that dish washers don't have additional hands to scrub off that food that you didn't want to take time to wash off. My husband makes fun of me because I literally wash the dish before I put it in the dish washer and he asks, "Why do you even bother Elle?" well because once again I am anal and they have to be organized and squeaky clean.

3. I'm sure most people who know me could have figured this one out, but I wish I would have gone to beauty school. I love love love doing hair and makeup! Thanks to all those friends who let me practice on them when I really didn't know what I was doing! :)

4. I secretly want to work at the Oprah magazing as a graphic designer, no joke. That's my dream job...I want to do layout design actually for any magazine, but the Oprah one would be my prefrence. You know how fanatics will write Oprah letters begging to do anything just to get on her show? Sometimes I am tempted to write her weekly telling her a sob story of how I work at dumb U of P and maybe she will feel pitty on me and hire me on as an intern or something? If this worked out then we would be rich and Jeffy wouldn't even have to finish school!
5. I HATE HATE driving...it could be from the fact that I have been in 3 major accidents. I totaled on of my cars and have been very blessed to walk away from each accident not hurt. I guess the positive thing from this is that I am a more cautious driver. It makes it worse that I live in Phx as well and am always stuck in rush hour traffic.

6. All throughout high school I had a crush on Richie from Happy Days, not even kidding you...I thought that he was so cute and dorky and would be the sweetest boyfriend! Trust me, I'm not attracted to him anymore cause he is super bald! It must have been the freckles and red hair! :) Jeff, you are my hottie now! ;)

7. I will NOT eat pickles, they smell so gross and I don't like the juice that comes out of them. If I order a hamburger and they accidently put pickles on it, I just can't take them off and eat the hamburger cause it still has the pickle juice. YUCKY!!! I don't even like being around when people open a jar of pickles cause I can smell them.

8. I'm really only supposed to do 7 but I couldn't leave this one off...There were 3 things that I always wanted in a boy. #1- I love it when boys have a good wink! Jeff always would wink at me in our old singles ward and didn't even know how much I LOVED it. Once when I was giving a talk he winked at me from the congregation! Soooooo cute! ;) ;) ;) #2- I wanted them to know how much I LOVE strawberry lemonade. #3- I LOVE it when guys wear suspenders, so adorable...Jeff you are lucky I didn't make you wear them on our wedding day, but there is still time for you to fulfill that dream for me! #4- I think it would be so fun just to run through sprinklers with a boy, Jeff we still have to do this one as well!

A Schaub-Ka-Bob Update

Lately I have been such a Crafty Mc Crafterson!  My good friend Abbey and I decided to go to As You Wish (it's this really cute place where you can paint pottery) last week and now we are both hooked, and decided that it is very relaxing just to sit there and paint while forgetting about all the stressful things in our lives.  I wish I had a pic of Abbey's platter and bowl that she made cause they were adorable...hopefully she will blog about them! :)  I decided to go with a typical frame which I didn't really like how it turned out because of the colors, but oh well. Then yesterday Abbey had this Super Saturday thing with her ward and I stopped by so that she could show me how to make this cool magnetic message board! Thanks Abs...I'm glad that being crafty has brought us back together!

Recently I had time to decorate our shelves in our living room and so here is a pic of that as well.  So, maybe it looks like Jeff and Ellie mania, but what else was I supposed to do with the millions of frames and pics from our wedding?  When you guys first were married did you have millions of wedding pics around as well?  Maybe, I will grow out of it but for now I am still in newlywed world!

Last weekend we had a wonderful opportunity to do a Walk for Autism at the Phoenix Zoo for our cute nephew Ethan!  We call ourselves "Ethan's Superheros" and hope to have our own t-shirt one day!  My amazing sister in law Megan organized most of it and also raised a lot of money for the Autism Research Center through her scrapbooking crop that she had, thanks Megan!  This was the first time that I got to walk with the Schaub family and it was so very fun, even if the Phoenix Zoo does not have the most exciting animals to look at.  Jeff said, "Since we didn't have to pay to get in they hid all the animals from us!" I thought that was pretty funny cause they were all hibernating or something!!  Have I mentioned before that all my nieces and nephews are so cute?  The Schaub family is awesome, and I'm so very blessed to have the best in-laws.

This is random, but I'm so so so excited this year to decorate for Christmas!  Last year we were lame and didn't even put up our christmas tree because we were so caught up in all the wedding bliss and had just got home from our honeymoon in Disneyworld that we didn't have time to do anything except sip hot chocolate from our cute christmas mugs that someone gave us!  We even got a permit to chop down our own tree this year, we have a really high ceiling and thought that it would be pretty funny to get a tree that was super super tall! A while back I found these cute tree decorations at Costco and we finally bought them!  It's great cause there are 84 of them and the best part is that they have glitter on them too!

Jeffy Updates: Yes, this is a pic of Jeff when he was little and I found it in my I-photo so I had to post it.  He is doing great and is such a smarty pants when it comes to school. Seriously, he has to be one of the most intelligent people I have ever met and I admire that about him.  I can ask him any question about an animal, car, a random history fact, or any math problem, and he always has an answer for me.  He has been doing really well at school too, and getting the highest grades in his Calc 3 class.  I told him that I want to put his tests on the fridge but he won't let me.  Thanks for working so hard in school Jeff, I really appreciate it! :) I don't understand half the things he studies. :(  Well, that's all for now...I promised Jeff that we would not be late for church again and have to hurry and get ready!

I threw a tantrum while reliving a Magical Moment...

My wonderful friend Jenny Stephan and I thought that it would be fun to relive the night we both got engaged last year on October 6, 2007 and planned a double date with our hubbies. It had been almost exactly one year since we got a sparklie ring on our fingers! Our husbands are good friends and planned on proposing to us the same night, which was awesome cause I just love Jenny and it was something fun that we got to share together and can now look back on.

Flash back to last year...Jeff picked me up and I knew that he had planned a fancy night so I was excited and knew he was hiding the ring from me and I couldn't wait for it to finally be mine! We first went to this classy steak restaurant called Flemming's in Scottsdale and it sure was yummy and very very expensive, which was ok by me cause you only get engaged once so you might as well live it up! I kinda could sense that Jeff was going to propose to me that night, cause he seemed kinda nervous and I was super scared as well...scared that he was just going to jump up on a seat and shout to the whole restaurant that he wanted me to marry him...so here goes the persistent Elisa searching everywhere for a possible ring. If you could only picture what I was doing and how I was nagging Jeff about if he was going to propose to me you would understand and laugh more at this post. Most girls would want this night to be a complete surprise, but I would have rather had Jeff write out exactly what he was going to do that night for me so I knew when it was coming...doesn't make sense I know...but that's me for ya. So, the first place I looked for this diamond ring was in the free dessert that our waiter gave us, why would I look in there?!? Well, because why would he give us a free dessert at this expensive restaurant unless Jeff told him about his plans that night? Ok, so it wasn't in the dessert and I was happy about that cause it would have ruined the sparkle in the ring right?

We left the restaurant and I continued to be dramatic Elisa and searched all of Jeff's pockets, shirt, socks, and shoes for the ring like I was cop arresting him or something...it wasn't there and by this time I could tell Jeff was getting a little bugged and knew that I should give up and enjoy the night. Another reason that I know Jeff is my soul mate is because he is literally the only guy that I have known who will put up with my irrational moments and just sit back and wait till I'm done...ha ha! Next stop was the Hyatt Resort where we had our first date, it was sweet to go back to this memory cause after my first date with Jeff I knew that I could marry someone like him. We walked around and reminisced about what we had talked about our first night out, it was fun. Don't worry...I kept checking his pockets every once in a while for the ring, no sign of it though.

Jeff excused himself to the bathroom and came back and then we went on a gondola ride, I thought what a perfect time for him to propose, but he didn't and I told myself just to enjoy the ride and the rest of the night and not to do more pat downs on the poor boy. I didn't think anything of him going to the bathroom and leaving me there for a few minutes by myself, but he had secretly met up with Mike Stephan to get my ring. Jeff knows me so well that he didn't carry the ring with him until right when he was going to propose cause he knew that I would act like crazy Elisa that night and freak out on him. After having a well needed relaxing moment on the boat we got out and walked to this little fire pit where Jeff and I had our first real long conversation on our first date last year February 2007, so many warm and heart felt memories flooded my thoughts, and just going back to that original spot confirmed to me that I did want to marry Jeff. He got down on his knee and my mind went blank and I awaited the words...he said some sweet things to me that I wish I could have recorded better in my memory, and then of course asked me to marry him. It was an incredible moment! :)

Afterwards we headed to this cute little dessert place called Sugar Bowl (they have the best banana splits) and met up with Jenny and Mike to celebrate our occasion. It was so fun to share our magical moment with them. What an adrenaline rush it was to share this great news with family and friends, that whole night I couldn't stop looking at that pretty shining thing on my finger, I'm glad that Jeff didn't give up on asking me after all the searching procedures I did on him. To this day my most favorite thing about my ring is that Jeff engraved on the inside: "Love Endures All" and now that we are married he will often quote that to me and I know that the LOVE you share with your significant other can get you through any trial, I really do believe that. I love Jeff more than I ever thought possible of loving someone, and through all the challenges we face I love him even more. Since I was younger I always wanted to have something engraved on my ring so I thought that phrase was perfect. I engraved "My Dream Come True" on Jeff's ring.

We didn't go to Flemming's again this year, because we are poor newlyweds, but we did go out to Sugar Bowl with Jenny and Mike and then to the Hyatt again. It never fails because I somehow managed to semi ruin this night as well. While we were at Sugar Bowl we decided to get some food because we hadn't eaten dinner so I ordered a hamburger and the waiter asked how I would like it cooked and I said, "Well done please" then Jeff looks over at me shakes his head and said to the waiter..."She actually would like that medium well" we went back and forth for a couple of minutes then I gave up. I don't know who the waiter listened to, but my hamburger tasted delicious. My tantrum started after Jeff told the waiter how to make my hamburger, I guess I was bugged because he was trying to change my order and I knew deep down that he was right but didn't want to admit it. So, with that being said I acted irritated with Jeff the rest of the night and was not able to get a lot of pics. After being married you would think that I would be more pleasant and not want to cause tantrums in restaurants, but I did and so hence the title of the post. What an insignificant thing to get mad about...sorry Jeff!! Despite all that we had an entertaining night, and I learned that it's necessary to relive some of those magical moments you had when everything was more simple in the dating world. I get so caught up in our busy day to day routines, that I forget to look back on all the reasons I fell in love with Jeff in the first place! :) Moral of the story is that I need to grow up and just be thankful that my hubby knows me and knows how I really do like my hamburger cooked! :) Here are a couple of pics that I did manage to take though!

Freshman 15 & the Married 15...same thing right?

Since I have been married I will be one to admit that I think I have put on a couple of pounds since the single days. I would like to blame it on the wonderful birth control, but I have the expensive kind where they claim you don't "gain weight" from. It's funny when you see people and they ask..."Are you pregnant?" Nope, I just put on a couple of pounds form being married, thanks for asking though! Ha ha!!

I thought that it would be funny to post about this, cause I wanted the opportunity to use my fun photo booth program on my Mac that can disorient your face in many ways. I can play on this thing for days. I first found out about Photo Booth with my good friend Rustin, we took pics on it for hours and I was so entertained. (Shout out to Rustin--thanks for doing that...I don't know if you enjoyed taking pics as much as I did but it's a great memory!!) My husband Jeff on the other hand tells me that he does not like seeing me look weird and will constantly delete all the pics I ever take on there! :( I just think they are hilarious, and I can't stop myself!

I have to take responsibility for gaining the weight though, because it's not like I make any effort to exercise. I like to think about it and tell myself how great it would be if I actually went running or made some attempt to get fit, but it hasn't really happened yet! Jeff and I laugh at each other because we will catch ourselves both saying..."Let's go running tonight!" and we still have yet to. Jeff is a champ and actually works out at 5:00 a.m. like 3x a week though, what a trooper! Another one of my fav things that makes me laugh is that we will watch that T.V. show Biggest Loser while eating ice cream or some other non-healthy food item.

The habits we develop in life are just silly. Don't ask me why, but for some reason since I have been married I have become more picky with my food as well, Jeff is so sweet and often times will make me a separate dinner plate just for me. I'm not pregnant or anything but I crave waffles with strawberries on top daily!!

Alright, well now that I feel like I've told the whole world about my bad eating habits I'm going to make an effort to do something more active so that my body will be more happy with me. Really, I'm not that bad, but I could be better about watching what I eat. I just had to post something with all my fav snacks and food that I just can't seem to give up!!

After taking these ridiculous pics I had to redeem myself and post some normal ones that are also from the dazzling Photo Booth as well. Please don't be afraid to tell me all the things you like to pig out on! In conclusion all I have to say is that the Schaubs can cook, so yup Jeff cooks delicious food all the time and I just have to eat it, I ate it when we were dating and continue to enjoy all the tasty treats that he makes...thanks honey!! :) Yes, the freshman 15 and married 15 are the same!! The end!
