hello! happy vesak day first of all. haha. even though those of you all reading may not be a buddhist, it is still a festival worth celebrating ain't it? singapore is still a multi ethnic society! haha. feels so good right, other ppl's religon or race can get to rest! a public holiday! haha. yeah yeah. How did you guys spend your vesak day? haha. hope everyone had a fun and enjoyable day! haha. well, for me, My day was filled with lots of excitement and joy. haha. yeah. GOT PICTURES. haha. I rao ler ni men der eyes( i spare your eyes), haha, everytime read my posts until wanna die like that. yeah maa. story book blog mah.. duh~~ haha. yeahyeah. so anyway, here's how my day went...

It was about 8am in the morning. Quite early. Dad was snoring like a pig. haha, since he got back quite late yesterday, and should be quite busy today, my mum brought me, and my 2 sisters out. (Sharol was going to go to macritchie reservoir area for canoeing practice, she left earlier already), hence she decided to bring us out to macritchie as well! haha. i was like super super enthu! cos i've long heard of the ming bu xu chuan der HSBC canopy walk! haha. yeah. i can't wait to walk on that shaky suspension bridge. haha. yeah. So mum, me and 2 sisters showered and sneaked out of the house. Took bus 22 to the "maha bodhi stop" and then change our bus to 93. We reached macritchie at about 10.30am. We wanted to go find sharol first, so we headed up to the reservoir part of the whole macritchie first, cos thats the only place which contains the water body. haha. so sharol found us instead of finding us cos she got up to drink water. haha. yeah. so after saying hi, we decided to go and walk the canopy, only to find out that it is 5-10 kilometres away from where we are. so we decided to trail up all the way, and little did we know that the road is gonna be rocky or as they say, wont be a bed of roses.

ok, anyway, haha, that was dion and mama when we were on our way up, they posed for me first, then ate crackers which we brought up. haha

haha, then before we left the water body part, I took a photo of sharol. haha, She is the 1 on the blue canoe! haha. (Kairu, i never bluff you horr. haha.)

Ok, so we walked a small part around the water body, then entered a dense forest. yeah. I was walking quite fast, cos walking fast is nice, so when i am quite far in front of them, took a picture of them..

haha, you can see the light and the entrance right? the side of them are all flora and fauna. Ok, when i looked in front, the sign said HSBC CANOPY TREE WALK 5.8KM. i was like, READY, LETS GO!

haha, so when i looked in front, i saw this.



Yeah. i WONT be a luo suo king here, but i walked 3km seeing only this. COOL RIGHT. haha. 2 sisters were complaining and whining. haha. of course, sometimes I walk too far till they cant see me, and they decided to shout for me, and of course, i shouted at them and wait. until FINALLY. AFTER 3.5 KM, there was a rest stop. JUST WALK AND WALK OK? TIRING. haha. but anyway, AT LEAST, i didnt whine or nag or complain. haha. just walked and walked. Then on the way, i keep seeing the sign "HSBC TREE WALK CANOPY THIS WAY ->". so toopid. keep on put there then keep making me thinking that it is so near. haha.Anyway, we were relieved and glad. though my legs were aching a little, wasnt really that tired yet. Both sisters were complaning. OH YA! haha, and youngest sister was AFRAID OF MOMKEYS! hahaha! SO FUNNY LOR. me and 3rd sis was playing with her, while walking we were making monkey sounds, and she was like, STOP IT LAA. haaha. like wanna cry arleady. AWWW. ORHH HORR. BIG BULLY. aha.no laa. play play only. haha. yeah. Before walking in, as earlier shown, she was busy entertaining herself with potato chips, And she was SUPER SUPER SCARED of monkeys that she kept it. Of course, so far as i have described, there is NO MONKEYS. haha. yeah yeah. back to where i stopped. haha, yeah, so at the rest stop, mum, dion and natasha was thrilled that there was a rest stop. so they finally stopped whining and smiled. haha.show you arhh..




Hehhehh, haha, I also very restless laa. so i also go do TWIST on them lor. haha.



LAME- =.=. ok anyway, we continued our journey. haha. so we continue our journey. yeah. did some poses anyway after the rest stop..



There, told you, I keep seeing this sign along the road. SO TOOT. UGHH. haha. till i got sick of seeing it. haha

I finally realised that, WE FINALLY REACH LERS! HAHA. WOOHOO. CHEERS SHOUT SCREAMS. haha. yeah. When we finally saw this sign, after walking up up up upupupupup! WAA. leg so tired. haha.



then, we continued heading up, of course, sudden burst of energy, so happy that we reached already. haha, and i got even more HIGH when i saw this sign,


It reads: "HSBC tree canopy walk 0.1KM away" I WAS HURRAHING AWAY. haha. so fun! wee~

Then there it was, the stair case that lead to the canopy walkway. haha. I was so siao, that i walked even faster down mum and 2 sisters were behind, and again, i took a picture. of course, I ZOOMED in the camera first laa. haha.

this far!.. haha. so yeah, now we went down and down the stair case that will be leading to the canopy. haha. we reached the enterance of the walk. and decided to take a photo on the facts and figures there. haha. ZOOM ON THIS 1.



haha, so we started on the high high up. WE WERE SO HIGH UP. haha. yeah. on the walk, finally. all that i wanna be today. haha. OF COURSE. THIS WAS THE HIGHEST POINT. haha. so AGAIN, we walked on the board walk. starting still ok, cos the path was made of wood.





haha. yeah! there we all are. haha. 3rd sis( Natasha) haha, was trying to act sian. haha. like a piggy like that. (i didnt wanna say pig, cos very nan ting, haha. and since she wants to be nicknamed pinky piggy, so call her piggy, eeyer, if she ever finds out, I die, she will kick and beat me 1lor. haha)

As we continued the board walk, we looked around, we were freagin high up above the ground, and the walk was so far away from the reservoir. haha. I took a photo on the scenery above, yeah. then saw the reservoir from there, SO HIGH ABOVE. just look at the pictures below will ya? haha



the bridge path changed from wood to metal, and we can see below. haha. mum had height phobia, so she was feeling giddy. but was ok, haha. i love heights, and the little adrenaline tinges that i get whenever i look down, imagining what will happen if i ever BOM down. haha. yeah. I decided to take a picture from above, and this was all i managed to take about the bridge and below. haha




oh, and when we jump right, the bridge will shake a bit der lehh. haha. YAR LOR. haha. scary. haha. but it was fun anyway, haha. the scenery was nice. and me and youngest sis(dion) did something real crazy on the bridge, when there were many many ppl behind us, we were shouting: "
I AM THE KING OF THE WORLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!"

"I AM THE QUEEN OF THE WORLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!"

haha.yeah. sot~ real sot. we were shouting shouting shouting, screaming our hearts out.haha. enjoying the breathtaking views and breathing in the oxygen up there. haha.


woa, nice. real nice. haha. very very high up. haha. ppl with HEIGHT PHOBIA shouldnt go. haha the sign was return. looks like mama was real cool to go against the rules. haha. anyway, rules are meant to be brokeN! haha. yeah. woa. wonder if ppl who scared go up will chicken out, then the legs will shake. haha. we continued taking pictures anyway, haha.






Till finally, we reached back to the rest stop. haha. yeah. there we changed into fresh-er clothes and refilled our water bottles. haha. and i decided to show you something.(dont worry, behind my clothing, i am wearing something)

haha. yeah. that was sweat! wasnt rain kay! haha. yeah. was kindda drained and everything already. haha. Yeah. so we rested at the rest stop for a while (30 mins) haha. and headed home. but then, the sky decided to give us water...



and we became luo tang ji. haha, we phoned dad to pick us up. yeah. and dad picked us up. we headed home, ate lunch. I went out to go scooting and bycling. haha. yeah. and decided something. the bike at home is so lao po kai, my legs will keep on hitting the handles. So you know what? haha. I wanna have a new bike! haha. so fun! yeah. i wanna ride and ride. haha. today was nice, fun, entertaning. haha. i walked and cycled and even managed to do math! haha. yeah yeah yeah. nice 1. GG. haha. SO if i ever get a new bike( I think i will save and buy), then i will cycle all aruond singapore! haha. Yeah yeah! FUN. maybe till pasir ris first, then till simei. haha. okok. yeah. so thats my day for today. tomorrow is gonna be packed with LESSONS.=.=.m then jess laus bday party later. haha. yeah yeah. LIFE IS SO GREAT NOW. haha. yeah! time for family, and i even have time to study and play! XD. haha. ALWAYS LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE. AND MY LIFE ROCKS. haha. FINALLY. haha.=)

OK. STOP! before you continue on, read the earlier post first, the one with WORDS and WORDS. haha. cos this is the continuation. managed to get the pictures ler. haha. ok. so navy open house. It was pretty neat. haha. we walked a long long distance to reach. yeah. first queued up to go see the biggest of all war ships first. yeah! haha. we waited for a bout 20 mins? say? haha. yeah. that day, dad, mum, me, and 3 sisters together with sky koko go and see. haha. sky koko. yeah. hes my dads china worker i would say, but thinked he and dad got pretty close recentlY. yeah. so went along all together... so while waiting, me and mama took a picture! haha.




















Yeah. too bad i didnt take how long the queue is! LONG i tell you! have to stand der lor! haha. anyway, when is our turn, we went up the gigantic war machine and walked up the staircase to 10 levels high. about there. yeah. haha. then walked till we climbed 1 more staircase to the captain's deck! yeah. we decided to pose for a picture there!



















there we are !haha. then we went inside the captain's cockpit! haha. yeah. then saw lots and lots of controls! haha. fun fun fun! WEEHOO~ haha. then we took a picture. i did remember in physics that mr yap said that they use CRO technology on the ship to detect enemies or stuff like that, so yeah. took a picture first then tried to look for the thingy. only ending up confused with what the heck are all those! haha





































We continued our exploration on the big big ship. we went down a super steep stairs and saw where the NS men sleep if they ever stay here. lots of awards on the walls. and when i peeped inside the rooms, the room has 4 bunks, together with 2 tables. i think. yeah. then was so crammed and stuff for the ns men! EVEN if it has aircon! WONDER what will the earth be like without windows and scenery! haha. then continued walking. yeah. then on the way down again, we saw water coolers! Just nice, sis was thirstY, so she decided to have a drink! only to find out that, they decided to switch off ALL the water coolers on the ship that day!=.=

















Theres sharol! haha. yeah. then we went down again, and then wore life jackets. cos, we are gonna participate in an evacuation excercise! Haha. you know when NS men had to escape from the mother ship just in case anything happens? yeah! SO COOL CAN. haha. so on that boat, took more pics!

weather: BRIGHT AND SUNNY

hi. am back here to blog. its a bright and sunny day.(lame, real lame). actually today wann go band to see section. Kaiping owes me flute hmk. wasnt really feeling well, so decided to head with the guys to white sands for lunch, then head straight home thereafter. yeah. (feel so paiseh walking pass them can?) ok, nevermind, anyways, lets get back to stuff i wanna blog.

1) CHINESE O LEVELS. SO GG CAN! UGHHH. ok laa. should be happy first. cos over liao mahh. Ready? YEAHHHHHHHH. ok. done. for paper 1, i think i screwed up real bad for gong han can?! i only wrote 2 pages, which normally is about 3 to 4 one. DUMB. ++ I dont think content enough. DIE. but bao zhang bao dao for me was hurrah! you know whY? cos.. no 1) MANAGED NOT TO WRITE SO LONG! 2) USE LOTS OF IDIOMS 3) REDUCE USAGE OF QUOTATIONS! hahaha. yeah. paper 2 was QUITE OK. managed to do a lot. and so far check my answers most of them correct. well. HOPE CAN GET A! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! A A A A A A A AA A AAAAA. lalalal! going siao liao. haha. A!! please please please. let it be an A. PRAY. anyway, chinese Os still got oral and listening compre! and i'd better do well! cos your grades can go up by 1 or 2 grades 1 kay! yeah yeah yeah! so better do well! speaking of which, mr lua today was going through oral for chinese. haha. Then he asked us to say "we are singapore citizens" in chinese, which will read as "wo men shi xing jia po gong ming." hahah. when i read it, he was ssaying GOOD, YES YES. haha. and the class was going, WOA...... WOAA... then of course pai seh laa.Donovan also power! hahaha. the class was also going woa woa woa. haha. and wei neng! as yock kiat says: "WEI NENG SHOOO CUTE" yeah, he is cute der lor! hahaha. mr lua ask him to smile! cos got jiu wor! hahaha. so cool! haha LOL! yeah. so thats for chinese! GO 4E1! GO 2E4(05)!! GET A FOR CHINESE! GOGOGOGOO! hahaha. sorry so many names to type, lazy to type all. heh.. haha

2) ENGLISH ORAL FOR PRELIMS! OVER! HURRAY HURRAY. HIP HIP HURRAY! LALALALLA. haha. i think mrs low was quite happy. cos she was smiling, I made her laugh, and she said good for convo, picture and reading! yeah! hahahha. hope can score well! my first 3 months depends on it(partly) haha. dunno lehh. there was 1 word in there which was "suitably", then i not really sure how to read. at first i wanted to read "soo-ta-ber-lee" but in the end, i read it as "sui--ta-bleee" haha. i not really sure which 1 is right. another 1 is "mundane". yeah. I read as, "mune-dane" but then people say is "mon-dane" i not really sure laa. haha. mrs lowe didnt correct me. so i not really sure though. haha. hope for this best! MJC/TJC! haha. hopefully this 2! I CAN GO IN! haha. wei neng, donovan, si han, 1 by 1 all my good friends all going there! haha. ++++ both bands all rock! GOGOOG. haha. jia you jia you! haha.

3) KAIRU'S WONDERFUL BDAY CELEBRATION. Tell you guys, ytd, was one of the best outings with friends i ever had. haha. was 456782174093175097609754268742509760927619-36019437 times fun ok! hahah. really really fun! haha. And i promised myself that i would work hard after this outing! haha. yeah. and i've been a good boy lately! woohoo! haha. I wont really touch much of the computer now. anyway, mum doesnt allow me to play games anymore cos of my horrible mid year results. SO DISGRACEFUL! haha. so i just finished my online assignments, might as well blog, watch 1 episode of bleach, then go off and chiong my math and bio. yeah. ahha. anyway, back to the outing!

yesterday, after the boring biology afternoon programme and smo, me, donovan, huihui, peishi, mei yee, shui man, kairu and yenny went out for an outing to help to celebrate kairu's bday(28/5/07) yeah. but she gotta go back to celebrate on the 28th. so we help her to celebrate on the 29th! haha. yeah. wei neng actualy wann come der, then think mama dont let. =(. haha. but anyway, we actually wanted to go catch a movie. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN! haha. yeah. then we walked to white sands, playing along the way. haha. yeah. then reach there, pei shi and shui man actually wanna go home, think they dun wann watch( correct me if im wrong ok? bleahh, no offence if you feel any!) so we decided to watch NEXT instead, anyway, its a nice movie as well! haha. so we took the mrt with ahh neng to bedok, where he alighted, and we continued all the way till city hall. on the train, we were again talking crapp. ahha. and i was comparing 2nd sis with kairu. and they look alike! haha. yeah. nevermind got chance, i bring them together then you compare! haha. then we chiong all the way to marina square. only to find out that the movie for NEXT was cancelled/fully booked. at 4.30 laa. UGHH. XIAN DIAO. hha. so horr, i go say "PLAN B!" kairu was wondering what was plan B. of course, i behind her knowledge go tell yenny, mei yee, etc etc. spread until everyone know. haha. donovan also. so plan B was:

Yenny will bring kairu walk walk walk walkwalklwkalkwlaklwkalkwlaklwk walk arouund the mall. While me, peishi, donovan, huihui, mei yee, shui man walkto go find a cake stall to buy her a cake and sing her happy birthday! but when we found out the cake prices, we were horrified! SO EXPENSIVE! 1 round piece of cake for 45 dollars? 1 slice of cake for 5.95 dollars? oh my tiann. so in the end, the sign PIZZA HUT was nearby. and ideas struck us lightning, we decided to go order a big big pizza where that will be her "cake". anyway, kairu is very very flexible der hor. haha. so we ordered 1 meal which has 2 pizzas, 4 drinks 4 soup. then later mei yee say not enough, so decided to go buy 1 more set of that. But we of course order different pizza. haha. then we call kairu and yenny to come up. haha. and it was fun! when she came, 1 pizza came. we all say, wait for 2. haha. so the soups and coke came first. yeah. so when the 2nd pizza came. plan C came out! haha. gave bday girl a suprise i think. haha. we went...

HAHAHAHAH. its like, all the romantic couples there, dating dating. then also 2 girls on almost every table. donovan told me cannot be, unless they are less! hahah. LOL. anyway, was like SPOILING THE WHOLE ATMOSPHERE! HAHAHAHAHAHA. then even got pizza hut ppl come out and see see, thought what happened! hahaha. yeah. then we asked bday girl to make a wish. hahah. then she say:

hahahha. then I suggested. what about getting married with *ahems* and then have children and live happily ever after! haha. then hor, she say dont wann laa. haha duh~~who would. hhaha. anyway, then we enjoyed the pizzas! haha. then also lots of interesting things happened. Eg, yenny wanted to cold water.haha, then decided to try the experiment that the i am gifted so are you, what mr gary taught. haha. we ordered warm water first! then order ice! HAHAH! ITS THE SAME. then hor then hor, mei yee performed cecarian on the pizzza!! haha. then shui man say, how come born baby so fast? i thought need hours? you 5 minutes then the baby from pizza come out already! hahaha. yeah! mei yee be doctor. hahahaha. so fun! waa. tell you, down there laugh laugh laugh. SO FUN! hahahha. then we left the restaurant. hahah. we were wondering whether newspaper report will come out:

"HAISING STUDENTS RACK PIZZA HUT AT MARINA SQUARE!"

hahaha. LOL. then went action city to go and find present for jess lau! haha. then we were playing with a snack pack that can shake when you clap/touch it. haha. we were amused with that. haha. then we were playing with it! haha. then got the dunno what shake shake then got light come out 1. haha. in physics. haha practical electricity! haha. SO FUN! lol. so lame laa. like little kids like that! haha. then we also tried lots of things from that shop! haha. then on the way go mrt go and find present, cos cannot find. haha. it was quite late, then pei shi and kairu got curfew. donovan also! got me so worried, haha. cos when mamas scold/worry arhh, waa. then like very bad. then took mrt back, then again talk laa. hha. fun. real fun. then reached home. did some math and biology and head to sleep. haha. that was ytd.

You all should go there sia! iT WAS SO FUN! hahah. seeing how sailors live. ok laa, wouldnt call them sailors. would call them navy man! haha. for this 1, i wont type and talk anymore. haiyo. so luo suo. Ok. sorry if i havent touch this place for 1 month ++. i know a lot of you find it weird. well, ever since 1st april lots and lots of things happened. yeah. and some made me thrilled and excited, while some made me depressed and sad. lately, i am worn out, burnt out and tired. Yeah. Ok baa. where should i start. okok. i start with this first.

GONNA GET A NIECE TOMORROW! WOOHOO~~ CARNT WAIT! haha. Jovan is gonna have a sister! gonna be another person's uncle! WOOHOO~~ yayyayayayayayyayayayayya! *SHOUT SCREAM CHEERS* OLLLAYYY. hahaha. carnt wait carnt wait. haha. jojo gonna have a sister lers. yeah. haha.xue mei jie jie asked me and sisters to think of her name. haha. dunno lehh. we were thinking Emily, Edwyna, all the name start with E 1. hha but then she said she wanted "chloe". haha. then i noticed something by myself. Grandparents birthday recently also, haha. yeah. of course got photo all this laa. But then later parts then post laa. ok? haha. Dion also recently changed, as in to more monstrous. and we only found out the reason ytd that she was bullied by boys in school. haha. yeah. saying that they call her cucumber or dinosaur or something like that. yeah. haha. only to find out that dion got a lot of boys who are liking her in school! haha. DUH~ pretty, smart, cute, talented, who dont like. haha. yeah. so thats a relief, today she stopped her monstering! haha. and the best part is that, she finally dared to take up her flute and try hymn to the infinite sky! WEEEEEE~ haha. yeah. its a difficult piece. haha.

BAND
"Hai sing catholic school.... silver." The emcee anounced. All of us band mates sat there dazed, astouned, shocked. The only thing that we did, was clap. The other bands were already on cloud nine; screaming, shouting, cheering. We walked out of the conference hall in our sea blue uniform to the open space to take back our instruments. My eyes were red, but I didn't cry. Just upset. I didnt cry, is because, I already did my best. I took my piccolo and flute, and lugged my feet all the way to the bus, all together with the other band members. Some of them were teary-eyed. Some, with tears streaming down their face. Everyone walked dreadfully to the bus. But all I can say is that, everyone was quiet.. I sat in the bus, stoned-face, and thought about what happened earlier that day...

That morning, the sec 4s get to go to school late. I woke up early , with sunlight streaming in from the window. Hope and anticipation can be read off my face. "GOLD! GOLD! GOLD!" i told myself. After having a fufiling breakfast, i changed to my band uniform and headed to school. Entered the school gate and headed for the band room...When i entered the band room, I can see all sorts of emotions on everyone's face there. Some had the word "worried" on their face, whist some had an enthusiastic look. But there is one thing that everyone had in mind; that is "lets do our best on stage! what medal also nevermind.". Thoughts ran like the wind inside my head, whirlpools swirled heavily. my head pounded. I thought about the high-est As and B flats that i have to reach for zodiac and the meledious flute solo that i have to play in sunrise. " What if i can't reach the notes? or i panic at the solos?. but anyway, with a worrying heart and butterflies in my tummy, i changed into my sea blue and pure white uniform, set up my flute and piccolo, and sat in my place. did some warm ups on my own.

"gooooodd mornningngngn. mrrss chuaaa..."(echoy effect)

yeah. mrs chua was wearing black that day, like a normal band practice. Did some warm ups, and played through zodiac and sunrise once through. I thought that we sounded pretty good in the band room. superb i would say.haha, and during that time, my high notes from the piccolo can seem to naturally come out! and my flute playing seemed to be not bad that day. Many seniors always say: " try to reach your peak in playing during syf day!". Yeah. by that time, we went up for lunch and then settled down. Headed down to the band room, changed into our band uniforms, boarded the bus and then headed to the conference hall.

In the bus ride, we were all going: "PEANUT BUTTER!" different sections coming in at different times. eg, clarinets just went PEANUT BUT.. when they said BUT, flutes started going at their own tempos PEA.., then oboes started PEANUT BUTTER. hahaha. if people who arent from haising would go into that bus, they would most probably go: "this band very hungry izzit? haiyoo. peanut butter peanut butter. eat so much later get fat arhh. Hmm, maybe should get jelly to go along with it,, then you get peanut butter and jelly!" ok. i am crapping. haha. so i stop. but anyway, just for info...

"peanut butter contains peanut. peanut(in bio lab discovered), when burnt, can sustain the flame there for a very long time. As we all know, fats in the body are burnt. Fats contains about 38g of fats per kilojoule. Hence, there is alot of fats to be burnt, that means, a lot of energy can be used as activation energy(For chemistry) to give an endothermic reaction to continue burning. you should also try to put the flame at the different colour(darker blue colour) of the non-luminous flame(physics) for the maximum burning, conduction can then occur. and then.."

hey. hang on a second, why am i suddenly talking about physics biology and chemistry? sot sia. die ler. study till sot lers. haha. okok. anyway, back to the topic. Flutes were sitting at the back of the bus, and usually being the SUPER GUAI KIA section in the bus. i think we left the rest of the woodwinds astounded on the fact that flutes can be crazy as well. we were going after peanut butter, we were going... CONCENTRATION CONCENTRATION THIS IS A GAME OF CONCENTRATION 1,2..2,3..3,4..4,3...3,1...1,3... bla bla bla. as you can see, 3 is appearing the most, because, i happen to be number 3! (those who play concentration will understand) then section was SABO-ING me laa! BLEAHH. so unfair. haha. cos SL mahh, nice to bully mahh. HORR?? hahha. yeah laa. duhh~~ fun mahh bully SL. hahaha. yeah! dont you just agree that bullying SLs are fun? DUH! haha.but then horr, bullying juniors more fun laa. OOPS. haha. yeahh. jkjk.=). but anyway, thereafter, we went HAI DAI AA HAI DAI, HAI DAI AA HAI DAI. (tsunami) haha, yeah. so the chitter chattering. haha. Then when we finally decided to soften down, we realised something. Flutes were making the most noise. OOPS. hahhaa. Hence here, i have 1 conclusion to make. "HSC FLUTES arent that guai all the time kay! we all got our crazy and wild side der horr!". haha.

Then, we got into the conference hall and settled down. we were all starting to get a bit nervous. Cool breezes of air from the gigantic air conditioners in the hall were blowing across our faces when we emerged from the front door of the conference hall. My hands felt kindda cold. We sat down in the hall waiting for our turn to enter the tuning room(that place is used for practising and doing some final checkings etc). Our toshikasas(seniors) came! manning toshikasa was there. she was going, good luck good luck! Of course, our faces were going a little white. I felt tinges of adrenaline pumping into my body. Kai yi was also spotted. haha, though he was our flute tutor when i was only a mere sec 1, i said HI!, though I dont think he could remember me. haha. Think he didnt hear. so got into the tuning room.

In the tuning room, some conference hall person said:" you have 15 minutes. starting from now." Mrs chua got to work right away, like a busy bumble bee. we tried starting of sunrise, and zodiac. tried to tune a bit here and there, here and there. and before we knew it, 15 minutes was up. We had to get out of the room, and wait for our turn to enter the main hall. The place we all dread. the place we know that either we are gonna glow with glory or sulk with depression. The band then walked up to outside of the main hall. waiting for our turn. The moment of truth. We heard a band, i dont know which 1, who played merry widow. They sounded good I tell you. good. I heard piccolo parts there. NICE mann i tell you. haha. real nice. Then of course nervousness and tension got into me that i had no choice but to run to the toilet and go wee wee. after peeing, i washed my hands, looked into the mirror, and i went, lets go jerm! JIA YOU JIA YOU JIA YOU! and ran back to the waiting area of where my band is. The band who is about to perform...

Mrs chua said 1 last line:" DO IT FOR ANGLICAN, DO IT FOR NGEE ANN!" and we strode into the main hall...

"Band number 94, haising catholic school band, they will be playing set piece sunrise, and zodiac by hardy mertens, lets give haising catholic school a hugh round of applause."

-woo-li--wooo-hoo. screams, shouts. claps, applause-(you get the idea)

When i strode in, I was trying to keep cool. But of couse, butterflies were fluttering in my stomach, and my heartbeat was going faster than usual. with my flute, piccolo and recorder, I walked in with the rest of the band confidently. We were all afraid. Who aint? But we must potray ourselves as a very confident band. I looked at the audience. The audience looked at the band. I was zooming my eyes like a scanner to look for our seniors. And i was flabbergasted, astounded and going WOW. At the right side of the hall(from my side laa), the whole row occupied haising seniors. All our seniors, from xinhui toshikasa's batch all the way down to manning's batch. Huizhen, manning, lynette, xinhui, etc etc. I spotted. "to do my seniors proud.." I told myself. I sat down on my chair. The hall went silent. The air was still. In my cosy grey seat, i looked up. The 7 judges were gazing at us. Rumours were heard that they are going to be pretty strict this year. But i brushed that aside, and looked back at them. My eyes went taut. not my eyes, my suspensory ligaments.( BIO, CHAPTER ON EYE), I stared at them. Not looked. Mrs chua walked into the hall. The hall erupted with applause and all the WOO-LI--WOO-HOOS. She walked in majestically(MRS CHUA IS COOL KAY!) in her black outfit- a polka doted blouse and her granite black top. We stood up as 1, and sat down when mrs chua gave the cue. This was it. This really was it. "F-TUNING NOTE!" she mouthed. Raised her baton, and we gave that note, DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. stopped. She gave a slight nod. I tightened my diphragm, closed my eyes, and started feeling the ambience.

The timpani went derm, derm, derm, derm dom derm... bass trombone: Buaa buaa buaa buaa(going up!)!!. I can sense the uneasiness and nervousness in hakeem, my good friend and bass trombonist. haha. But it was well done on those four notes kay! And the melody from the horns and running notes came in soothingly. I felt the mood and atmophere. The beautiful melody with the running notes went along with each other till it reached the senza part...(the free expression part, erm, in this case was doing bird sounds). Flute 2s came in with their dadi dadii... dadi dadi.. ta. ta... ta.. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... the clarinets. Oboes acting as the woodpeckers. Flute 1 as the soaring birds and piccolo(ME!), with the hoppping of the birds. Unlike other schools, I felt that haising's senza was the most innovative and creative! Other schools just kept on reapeating the rhythm and notes that the composer gave, haising went anyhow crazy bird like 1 ok! haha. i started out my senza like the bird who just woke up. with the notes D, C, F, G, D, A. slowly slowly introducing the notes. i didnt went like whatever the composer told me. Saxophones came in with the melody, Like a professional saxophone player, who sat in the park, enjoying the bird sounds, playing a song to go with it. Like trying a person to get an inspiration you know. yeah. and of course, this continued until the flutes and high clarinets took over the melody. yeah. However, during the bird parts, during the second time, i used recorder, and i was trying to flutter the high A on the song. like a bird chirping. yeah. and used piccolo again. The senza felt like the birds were getting more and more alive, vibrant, bursting with energy, all ready for the new day!

The song went on with the flutes and high clars taking over the melody. like the sun rising slowly. Then we played. As the song crescendoed and grew louder, the butterflies were calling on the moths and insects to come to my tummy. I was getting more and more nervous as my solo in the song was approaching. like doomsday you know? haha. then, the moment that i have been practicing for, the moment that i have worked hard for.. the melody softened for the flute solo to come in. At first, i was pretty unconfident about it. then slowly, I played with more expression and vibratoed. And ended it with wei jun coming in with his flute 2 solo, like 2 ppl below on earth commenting on the beautiful majestic sunrise which has just rosen. When it finished, i heaved a huge sigh of relief. i think i made it too obvious, cos i saw huizhen and xinhui toshikasas giggling. haha. yeah. should be laa. and then, the band continued playing till its maximum(the ending) where the sun has rosen, looking up at the great big mighty sun with respect and admiration...

The piece ended, and we allowed the last note to ring thoroughout the hall. I was already delighted inside, that i managed to finish 1 task already. All that i worked for. haha. yeah. then zodiac. the piece that i more fear than anything. my hands went cold. my toes were wriggling. I stared up, and stretched my neck. I gazed at the light just above mrs chua that were giving us warmth and light, making us the centre of attraction. i took a huge breath..

Mrs chua walked onto the podium again, and mouthed to us: "peanut butter... peanut butter." I was already mouthing the words. 1, 2, 3 go. DA DAD ADA! I TOLD YOU! IT WAS SOLID OK! SO SO SOLID! wE SHOCKED THE AUDIENCE! WOOHOO~~ some of them were covering their ears. I thinked some of their hairs stood too. I am pretty worried about those 2 notes. but i remembered what my mum smsed me ealier that day in chinese: " Dont think so much about the prize, think about the song more! dont care about the gold. just do your best. I love you" . and i did remember asking my gods to bless me on stage. The melody went on. like a lion trying to vent out its frustration. then my piccolo part was approaching. it could mean me crying after the piece or going with joy after the piece. DA DA DA DA! PI!!!!!!!!" OH MY TIANN! I DID IT! I DID IT! WOOHOO~~ mrs chua told me that i would remember that note for the rest of my life. and itell you, i will. and of course, the second 1 went PI! as well! WOOHOO. and there was another part of the song which is a 3rd octave A flat, and i managed to hold it out with confidence and stability. Our zodiac was solid. You really can sense the frustration of the composer, the lions roar, the anger, the rage. There was 1 part of the song (part C) where the euphos and trombones were having the melody. I tell you, for the first time, I felt tensed at that part. which is what we are supposed to feel. and A was really like a dance, like what it was supposed to like. PICCOLO WAS DISTINCT ON THAT SONG. I CAN SUMPA! WHICH WAS WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE! haha. mr and mrs chua was asking me to come out come out. and all this while, i though iw as supposed to blend. I MUST COME OUT! haha. yeah. and i did. however, i thinked i rushed at part F where the trombones and trumpets passed the rhythm to picc. haha. yeah. But that was the best zodiac that i ever enjoyed. hha

mr chua once told us that zodiac was composed by hardy mertens. he was probably taking his masters degree for composing and couldnt stand the stress, so wrote this piece. docot hardy mertens was the lion in that piece, going the DAD ADAD Ato vent out his frustration. our zodiac was solid, and we really really rocked the hall..

the piece ended on a high note.. We took our files, and walked out of the hall. and when we reached out of the hall, our stone-faced, serious turned into smiles, joys, glees, and everything. Inside me, i was practically screaming like a crazy booboo already. I was smiling and delight with joy. WEE! I DID IT I DID IT! I REACHED MY PEAK! WOOHOO. OLAY OLAY. I WAS GLEEING WITH A GREAT BROAD BIG SMILE. hilary was over there: "congrats on the high b flat! IT ROCKS! and your solo rocks kayy!". haha, and i was congratulating pratically my section, etc etc. I was happy, delighted with joy, etc. then, i saw wei jun. He was looking glum, stoned-faced. and i approached him. yeah. then some talking, he felt all right again. haha. yeah. everyone was happy. everyone was delighted. we went in thereafter to hear 3 bands. then the results.

Of course, the tension and atmosphere everything was there. but since this post is so long already, i wont be a mean booboo and purposely make you tenseD. i just go straight to the point. "band number 94.." I was sitting with SU wei at the timE. i gripped her hands tigher. "haising catholic school.." inside me screaming, "WOULD YOU HURRY UP!??!?!"

THE RESULTS CONTINUED GOING ON. EVery single band in there was seen with smiles, shouts cries. i saw people crying with tears of joy. etc etc. Haising was the only band sitting there stone-faced. glum, etC. we went out to collect our instruments and went out of the conference hall. many people in our band were seen in tears. not joy. but sadness. My eyes were red. i admit. but i wasnt really that sad till i could cry. just upset. But i told myself, I did my best. and i will accept the results. yeah. on the way back to school, manning toshikasa, xue ying toshikasa and chelsea toshikasa was beside me and qiyun, we were talking on syf stuff. hha. yeah. and it kindda made me happy. haha.

Back in school, many ppl still were crying and everything, sad, solemn. yeah. haha. went to dinner then went home and rested already, ready to reflect on that day's activity...

I would like to thank my section for always there giving me support, mr and mrs chua, for always being so patient and caring for me. haha. (I EVERYTIME NEVER EAT BE4 COMING TO BAND. haha. then everytime mrs chua very nice tell me that i must eat. haha. =p) then, ngee ann for their pic! haha. yeah.
