The Jobs of Missy's Past

It's official. I'm an...

This is the envelope that was waiting for me on my desk on Friday when I arrived at work.

I love being an Office Lady! Last year I was notified that because of budget cuts I would be changing jobs. I was really bumbed... but who knew that I would love this job the most out of ALL the jobs I've had! I now am a front office Secretary at a middle school working 4 hours a day. It's the funniest, craziest job ever! In the short 4 months that I've been here I have encountered many sick children. Some of whom have felt comfortable enough to throw up in my presence. I've encountered the wounded children from food fights. The occcasional wetting of the pants. The way too peppy cheerleaders. Everyday brings a new adventure and a new laugh. It's a good place to be.

Thinking about it now, I have had some interesting jobs!

Jobs of the past... the good the bad and the ugly:

1st job: Babysitting

2nd job: Housecleaning

3rd job: Safeway Bagger

4th job: Dr. Office Secretary (Filer and Scanner)

5th job: Graphic Designer

6th job: Graphic Design Manager

7th job: Financial Company Administrative Assistant (Fancy way of saying Scanner)

8th job: Car counter (Seriously, I sat at street corners and pushed a button every time a car passed)

9th job: Hewlett Packard Printer Tester (Someone's got to do it)

10th job: Curriculum Department Secretary

11th job: Middle School Front Office Secretary

Horsey Barns and Horsey Castles

Most children color with crayons, mine...

Most children build towers and knock them down, mine...

Most children go to bed at a decent hour, mine makes horsey barns out of beannie babies... (Yes, I still have all the beannies I collected. And NO, I'm not embarrased... I knew they would be put to good use one day!)

P.S. Happy late birthday MOOSE!

Addicted to Chicky

Max is addicted to his "Chicky". Ever since Max was a baby he has loved rubbing his face on soft things. Once he came across Chicky last January they have been inseperable.

Poor Chicky has been dragged around and slept with for many months now so I decided that it was time for a bath.

Sunday Mornings

Not my favorite.

Sunday mornings, Jer is off at meetings and I have the enjoyable task of getting a 1yr old and a 3yr old ready for church and out the door by 8:45. If we arrive at church by 9:00 alive, it's a success. (Never mind the boys' hair that stick straight up no matter what I do!)

A couple weeks ago (the morning I had to give a talk in Sacrament Meeting) I let Tanner watch Horseland (his favorite show) while I went to get Max and change his diaper. A two minute task. Well, I returned and found this...

Super Nanner found my lipstick. Needless to say, by the time I arrive at church I'm always ready for a nap!

Memorial Weekend

My brother Jon came home to Seattle for the week. We had fun at the park, at the Mariners game and hanging out in the backyard.

The boys loved wrestling with uncle Jon. After one morning with the boys, Jon expressed to us that Tanner and Max were wearing him out. Jer and I looked at each other and laughed.

Uncle Jon taught Max to say "car". Now he says it everytime he sees a car, picture of a car, or a toy car.

"Me help you baby... Me help you"

We celebrated Jer's birthday a little early. Chocolate Texas once again. Happy Birthday!!

Old MacTanner Had A Farm...

As Tanner approaches his 3rd Birthday, we are learning that he LOVES horses. This obsession started back in January when we went on our Cruise. My parents took the boys to a toy store and let them pick out a couple things. Tanner picked out 2 horses. He now bathes them, feeds them and sleeps with them. The only cartoons that get watches and books that he reads MUST have a horse in them. All my pants are getting very warn in the knees because of all the horsey rides he insists on me giving him every day. We hear more horse noises out of him then we do words. I think you get my point, this boy LOVES horses.

So we recently visited my friend's farm. Tanner was in heaven! He rode the pony for a long time and got to sit on 3 horses after that. Max loved all the other animals on the farm: the cows, the dog, the cat, and the chicken.

It was such a beautiful day to visit the farm. We all had a ton of fun and we all learned a lot!
