The "BIG" 18!!
I can't believe my oldest daughter is "18"! She is still in many ways a kid but she is showing signs of adulthood. I think she will always be young at heart. She comes by it naturally. She is preparing for the next step in life. What that may be is still not concrete. She loves to cheer and would love to cheer at a University. We will wait and see which one she picks. You are on your way my sweet "Murfy". We hope all your dreams come true.

What a "Happy" Halloween!
The girls were twin cowgirls and Garen, as his usual fun loving self, was a dirt biker....I know, not a stretch for him!

Jordan's Homecoming 2009
Before the Dance
We opened the door to find this huge bale of hay on our door step. We thought it was a cute way that Jordan was asked to homecoming so we returned the favor and she answered "YES" by putting a bunch of BROWNIES in a bucket and and stuck the word "yes" in the brownies. She wrote a note on the outside of the bucket that said,...."Now that my horses have enjoyed your "HAY" look through the poop to see what I will say."

Had The Time Of My Life!
This weekend we flew to Dallas with some friends for the BYU vs. OU game. It was an amazing experience just being in the new Dallas Cowboy's Stadium. It was a beautiful stadium. With 88,000 seats, we were in a sea of red. Way out numbered by Sooner fans. We did not even expect to win, with the 22 point spread that was predicted, but we did it. Wow it was a nail biter but BYU really came through and gave us a show. It will go down in my memory as one of the greatest! Way to go BYU, now ranked 9th in the nation, for making it the time of my life!True Blue

Our Missionary's Birthday
Even though Tanner is about a million miles away serving a mission in India...we are home celebrating his birthday. We can't believe it was 20 years ago that this sweet boy entered our lives. He has been such a blessing to our home. He was such a wonderful child to raise. He has always been so dedicated to his studies, his talents, and to the Lord's work. We are just grateful for having him part of our family. He brings a light and laughter to our home that we miss every day but we know that right now we get to share him with the people of India and they are blessed for that. Hope this day is a great one Tanner. WE LOVE YOU!
First Day of 5th Grade
Mckenna is my early riser when it comes to school. So you can imagine her first day of it. The day before she had to plan her outfit, organize her book bag and have everything ready. She loves to go to school and loves to learn. I hope her enthusiasm continues for the rest of her academic career!

TOP GUN
Our son, Payton, just returned from his 4 weeks in Alabama for the Air Force Field Training. He said it was the best experience he never wants to have again. While asking him to tell us about his experience, he said,"I did get an award there." Then he whips out this medal..."I got TOP GUN" Only a couple of cadets are awarded this out of the entire 361 cadets at FT. The TG's are the cadets that ranked #1 at field training from their peers and commanding officers. It has been awhile since another Top Gun came from BYU. He also could receive an additional scholarship for being "Top Gun". This will go on his record and help him receive a pilot slot, which he is working so hard for. Congrats Cadet Jeppesen!

Proud is the Word!
I have been wanting to post for so long what my oldest son, Payton, has been accomplishing. I don't have a picture of him in his uniform yet, but this will have to do for now. He makes a mom proud, not prideful but proud. He decided last year to join the BYU Air Force ROTC with aspirations of becoming a commercial pilot. Payton has always had the ability to see something he wants to accomplish and go after it. When he does this, he doesn't want to be just okay at it...he wants to be the very best at it. So last year he saved his money and spent hours getting his private pilot's license. This year he decided to become involved in the ROTC AF Color Guard for all BYU events. This means he is the one who helps put the flag up and down everyday on campus. He also presents the flag at the sporting events. He and his fellow cadets went to Calif. in March for the Color Guard Competition. The results of that competition were that this was the first time that BYU placed in over 9 years. They placed third. Soon after that he was made Color Guard Commander for BYU. He was also awarded a full ride scholarship through the Air Force. You may think that all 16 Cadets waiting for a scholarship would get one but because the AF is a highly demanded military branch they only had one to give out at BYU this year. We were thrilled. He also received a merit scholarship for academics. I am so proud that he loves this LAND and it's freedoms and that he is willing to serve in our military so that our freedoms can be preserved. Way to go Payton...You are flying high above the rest...your dreams of being a pilot are just within reach!

"Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!"
I had a quick getaway to the lovely West Yellowstone with my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law. In my husbands family there are 9 children. 6 girls and 3 boys. So there were a lot of girls all together this weekend. We had a great time taking my mother-in-law to West Yellowstone for some shopping, dinner, and a play for her birthday. We all enjoyed the short time together. We took some fun pics and laughed a lot. Family time is always fun with the Jeppesen's!

Jordan's Promenade's
My children's Junior year is always so much fun especially because of Prom. This was our first experience having a daughter go to prom. Looking for dresses was so much fun. We were so pleased to see what she chose to wear. She looked so beautiful and elegant. We will always remember "The Way You Look Tonight".
ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER PROM
These pics are from her second prom which was in Las Vegas. She was asked by a boy who she met at EFY last year. We drove her down there to kill two birds with one stone....a prom for her and a weekend getaway for Garen and I.

Mom's Favorite Day
This, by far, is my most favorite day of the year. I don't know why but I absolutely love Mother's Day. I think it is partly because all of my growing up years I dreamed of being a mother. Now that the kids are all older, I am seeing the fruits of mine and my husbands labor. Our kids are so good to me and treat me with great respect. My son's are so kind and respectful of me and my daughters are the sweetness and beauty in my life. I couldn't of ever asked for better kids. Another reason why I loved this Mother's Day so much is because I got to talk to our son, Tanner, who is on a mission. He sounded so wonderfully happy. He is loving what he is doing and that he is serving the Lord. I often think of this scripture....
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth" 3 John 1:4

OOO You Make Me Live!
This past month has been a crazy busy one for me and my family and I have neglected my blog because of so much going on but I will catch you up on all the exciting stuff going on in our lives. I spent the last week in March with my college buddies. We have an annual trip to Ventura. My dearest friend Stacy is always so kind to let us come to her beach place. We love going there. We just have a relaxing time....talking, watching movies, tennis, shopping, mani-pedi's, eating...you get the picture. My friends, Penny, Sandi, Laurie, Stacy, and I have been close friends for more than 25 years. It is always so much fun to have our reunion and we look forward to it each year. Thanks so much you guys....You are my Best Friends!

A Week We Will Never Forget
This has been, I think, the toughest week our family has ever had. But through these mortal experiences we can learn from them and let our understanding and faith grow. It has brought teaching moments everyday for our children. If you click on this link you can understand the heartache we have experienced this week that was very close to home. It was difficult for them as they were interviewed by the news station in our home. You never know how your children will be when something like this happens but I saw so much courage and strength and deep faith that you sometimes don't get to see in your offspring until years later. I know we will make it through this moment of time and always keep an eternal perspective in our hearts and minds. We Love You Kat and know that we will someday be with you again.

I've Got the Music in Me
I stuck this picture in because these keys know me SO well. I am a story teller through music. When I start a new song, that is all I can focus on until it is done. I LOVE to write MUSIC. The only way that I know how to explain it is...it is like giving birth. It is a process of ideas and melodies rushing through my head and fingers and I cannot leave it until it is finished. I don't know how other song writers are inspired but mine is like a labor of love and the end result is so rewarding.

Wow How Time Fly's
It just seemed like yesterday that Jordan was going to the cute little cheer clinics at the High School. Now she is teaching them and Mckenna is being taught. These years seem to just fly by. I can't even barely blink because then I might miss something.<>
Look at these girls, they are just about ready for Competiton Cheer!
