PTI Blog Hop October 2014- take 3

One last project for the hop!
I've used vintage ornaments (stamps & dies) various inks & the woodgrain embossing folder. Also signo pen to hang the ornaments :)

I've added some stickles- doesn't show much....
no ribbon!?
WHAT?!
Here's the inspiration-
such a literal girl :)

Thanks for stopping by- happy hopping!

PTI Blog Hop: October 2014 take 2

I've got one more tag to share for this month's PTI hop!
For this one I adhered ribbon & then die cut the tag- I like how it turned out!

The ribbons I used were:
and of course another snowflake!

PTI October 2014 Blog Hop

This month for the PTI hop there is photo/color inspiration to use for starting our holiday crafting-
I used my new PTI die for the base & the tree die as a mask to stamp the background basics chevron.
I don't have all of the exact colors, but pretty close. I used a clear copic marker (the only one I own!) to outline the image- kind of gave it definition.
I added the snowflake, as I'm so literal....

Here's the inspiration pic:

Off to a busy day- looking forward to hopping tonight!

MIM #184: Gold Dipped Die Cuts

Late Sunday night- the week's sure are flying by!
I've got a card for the MIM challenge- such a pretty technique!

I used the die/stamps from Pretty Peonies for the butterfly & a fancy flourish image stamped in Delicata. I love how when you clean the delicata ink off your stamp there are bits of gold dust left on your fingers!
The butterfly is stamped in Fresh Ink limeade.

I've nearly made it through the vortex of PTA/school commitments for the month! HA!
 I could use a nap! :)
Thanks for stopping by- have a great week!

A Handmade Christmas Card Hop

I've got a fun card today that is VERY ribbon heavy, and I think even postal friendly!!

I've embossed my card base with the herringbone stencil by dreamweaver. I topped that with the new 2.5" blend in the holiday snowflake pattern. Satin cutout snowflakes are topped with red 5/8" twill ribbon that was stamped (with Staz-On Opaque ink) a PTI sentiment & heat embossed with white powder. Two more snowflakes anchor that twill :)

The giveaway: 2 prizes of 2 spools each (one each day) from our Christmas Section.
Don't miss any stops- here's the list!

MIM #183: Dry Embossing over Heat Embossing

This week the Make It Monday Challenge was to dry emboss over a heat embossed image.
I went with a CAS thank you card- heat embossing the stamped image with white powder.

I stamped on a woodgrain patterned paper from  DCWV, and ran it through with the woodgrain plate from PTI. Wish the texture showed more in the picture...
Kraft Baker's twine finishes it off!

Have a great week!

MIM #182: Mason Jar Stamping

It's Sunday night so it must be time for me to post a last minute MIM project!
This week the challenge was stamping on Mason Jars- SO FUN!
I painted my jar (an upcycled salsa jar!) with off white acrylic paint & waited very impatiently for it to dry!
I chose an image from Guidelines 2- one of my first PTI sets. It is heat embossed with gold powder.

I tied some May Arts jute (which I'm not finding in the catalog, but this would be a great substitute!)  ribbon around the neck and then tied on snippets of 3" metallic gold ribbon, 3/8" crochet trim in natural, and 5/8" satin scallop edge in ivory. A tremendous tag cut from MME paper is tied on with ivory burlap string.

I didn't make a single card for WCMD! Boo. I did get a handle on LOTS o' PTA projects, and that's a good thing!
Thanks for stopping by!

Coffee Lovers Bloghop

Happy National Coffee Day!
Well when two of your friends mention a coffee blog hop, you've got to listen, right?
I had plans for hitting the hay early (5:30 am comes so early on Monday!), but that's what coffee is for, right?!
grin.
I've stamped my image on a piece of 2.5" plain cotton blend ribbon (pure heaven in itself!), then stitched it on the fun paper from BasicGrey's 'fiction' line. I love this paper & I'm so proud of myself for USING it!

The cup is from PTI's 'warm happiness too' & the sentiment is from 'latte love'. I heat embossed the 'power' part of the sentiment for an extra kick.

I will have a long day at work while this fun hop is happening- but looking forward to checking out the java inspiration tomorrow night!
So fun!
Thank you ~amy~ & Erin for encouraging me!

MIM #181: Paper Casting- take two!

Yes, I made two projects for the challenge this week- and this one has been nearly done since Tuesday. I guess I am destined to be the Sunday night poster....
Sigh.
I used a 'flip note' from the Queen Bee collection by Pink Paislee. Super old- happily I still like it & in my effort to use what I have, well here it is! I cut my panel with a spellbinder die before paper casting the tree image.

Trees & sentiment are from 'through the trees'. There is a 1.5" moss wrinkled ribbon around the base (which is embossed with the woodgrain plate); the button was cut with my new dies & DCWV chalkboard paper & tied on with gold metallic string.

Sympathy cards are always so hard to make. :(

MIM # 181- Paper Casting

This week the challenge was to make a paper-casted image- and the great thing was that Danielle showed how to do it with toilet paper! The hardest part was waiting for it to dry!
For this tag I used my new tag die, the mums from 'mums the word' for the casting & the smile sentiment is from 'latte love'.

I may have gotten carried away with the gold sheer shimmer spritz. oops.

This was a fun technique & definitely adds a neat texture!

September 2014 PTI blog hop

This month the challenge at PTI is a lovely photo- here's how I was inspired:

vintage cream card base, smokey shadow panel (embossed with herringbone stencil by dreamweavers). Focal panel die cut with spellbinder die, stamped with 'wreath from all seasons".

Always amazed how fast the month goes!
Happy hopping!

May Arts + Authentique + Imagine Crafts

Welcome to Day 2 of the May Arts, Authentique & Imagine Crafts Hop!
I had a ton of fun working with these products! I was given product from the Harmony line to work with from Authentque, so that is what all of my projects feature!

First up- this pretty card :) I sprayed the left side of the card base (which I'm so in love with- card bases ready to use in gorgeous paper? YES, PLEASE!) with irresistible texture spray in wedding dress. I used momento luxe ink in morocco to drag my white frayed flowers across so they would match the pretty flowers in the card base.
.

I added some 1.5" pink tulle around the focal panel for some extra texture! The irresistible spray is so cool- subtle, but you can FEEL it!

This next card I sprayed the card base with Fireworks Tangelo- hard to capture in pics, but there is a ton of shimmer!

I used a sticker for the detail on the top & bottom of the focal panel, tied 5/8" salmon faux canvas around the base & popped the element on top of it all.

Last I've got another fab card base. I sprayed my 1.5" white solid/wrinkled ribbon with Fireworks Summer Sky to tie in the blue in the focal image (from the card stock sticker sheet). I also spritzed some on the 'life card' before tying that (now) blue ribbon around it & adding the focal element. The 5/8" dark silver satin pleats add another pretty detail. :)

That's it for me today- but be sure to check out the inspiration all week! Details on the giveaway are below!!

MIM #179: Emboss Resist Using Diecuts- Take 2

One more for the challenge at PTI this week- Erin sent me too many fun cover plates & dies to only make one card! :)
This one I used delicata gold ink over the resist, then sprayed the 'hello' with sparkle- so hard to capture the shimmer on this card- but it's LOADED!
(I've added a couple of different angles below with the hope of showing the shimmer!)
Red 5/8" glitter elastic makes it all pop!

Thanks again to Erin for getting me creating today :)
That's it for me!
Hope you have a great week!

MIM #179: Emboss Resist Using Diecuts

Ah,,, Sunday. Where has the week gone?
This week the challenge was to use diecuts or cover plates to create a heat embossed resist for our background. I still don't have any cover plates.
WHAT?
But my ever trusty friend & owner of many a cover plate saw to it that this fact did not stop me! Erin not only sent me some cut out cover plates & dies, she sent them in this week's No. 1 card- talk about happy mail!!
So in honor of Erin I've used a cover plate AND a die :)
This one I used some fresh inks in blues & faded down to the silver delicata in the lower right- hence the silver metallic string under the 'thanks' die. (I brushed that with ink too)

MIM #178: Back to School Easel Card

This week the challenge was to make an easel card using a die from our stash.
I went with a Spellbinder label die; the base is embossed with the PTI woodgrain plate.

I used vintage cream ink for the chalk look & the wonderful words 'teacher' set for stamping/teacher die.

This is a really fun technique & I had such great intentions of making several cards this week, but here it is after 11pm on Sunday.
*sigh*
I do have a fair excuse- THIS happened this week:

WHAT?
HOW did this happen?
More of that fab DCWV paper with REAL chalk for our sign!
(yes, I did coordinate the ribbon with her outfit for the sign!)

And yes, she IS nearly as tall as I am already.
Chuckle.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great week!
