The Post That Never Happened

I took this picture early in the day that London was born. I wasn't really satisfied with the picture, so I planned on taking another one later and posting it on our blog, but I never got the chance because London came. If you can't read it, it says "what's your name?" in mirror image (so London could read it). Many people want to know how we possibly came up with the name London for a child. Believe it or not, it has been done before. We had been trying to decide for several weeks between the names London and Elizabeth. We loved both names. Actually, we didn't truly decide on the name until the lady came by with the birth certificate form, then we were forced to decide. It was really nothing more than just making the decision to do it. When we got the print out back and actually saw the name "London Elaine Jensen" on paper we knew that we made the right choice.

London is Calling!!

For those of you who's ears my voice has not reached, our baby was born yesterday (December 15th). Julie's water broke at our house at around 8pm and we rushed to the hospital. Her contractions began getting real painful and close together at around 9:30. She was not able to receive an epidural like originally requested because the drug dude was busy, combined with the fact that the delivery was real short. The baby was born at 11:15pm which made the ordeal about 3.5 hours long all together. London Elaine Jensen was born 7lbs 10oz, 19.5in long. What was real interesting is that she hardly made a peep after coming out. The doctor tried to make her cry to make sure she was OK, and she gave out a short little cry which lasted about half a second just to put the doctors concerns to rest. This was all we heard from her for a long time. She would just move her eyes around the room as if she could actually see anything, checking things out and trying to make sense of it all, unsuccessfully I think. The feeling is equally powerful the second child around, like I expected. Julie is super excited to have the baby out. London shares a birthday with my grandfather, Gerald Becker (deceased), which has great significance to my side of the family. She looks a lot different than Avery did in my opinion, but the verdict is not in yet whether she looks more like Julie or like me. You decide. What I have noticed is that most people who know Julie better than me say she looks like Julie, and those who know me better say she looks like me. I guess because she has resemblances to both of us. Anyways, enjoy the pictures.

Slow Motion Fun

This is mostly a Thanksgiving compilation and mostly of Avery. Most other people did not want to be filmed. I am saying "most" a lot aren't I? After watching this you may never let me film you again. Avery, as previously stated, loves to dance. I think she is mimicking the contemporary dancers on "so you think you can dance", and if a 2-year old can be this entertaining with the contemporary dancing, it must not be that hard. ENJOY!!

Getting with the program

Most people are probably saying "its about time they stop being hermits". We are staying busy and just now finding time to start our blog, so we can update people on our lives. So here it goes.

Julie is large with child, (eight months large to be more accurate). She is hoping that the baby will come early since she is getting poked and prodded in every direction most of the day and night. For those of you who are wondering what the name will be, we honestly have not decided yet. Its not just a secret. We are looking forward to our second little girl.

Our first Little girl (Avery) is getting so big. She is in gymnastics right now and she looks forward to it all week long. Her instructors are very impressed with her abilities (more physical evidence of our awesomeness). She continues to grow and learn and we are surprised by her every day. She keeps trying to convince us that she is five years old so she can go to school. Lets hope that enthusiasm continues for the rest of her life. Recently she is liking ballet. She has seen ballerinas on TV and stuff and she tries to mimic their moves all the time, and does pretty good.

This months favorites
Color: pink
Animal: Titty Tat (Kitty Cat)
Food: Ikeem tone (Ice Cream Cone) & Buhtay cake (any sweet kind of bread)
Thing to pray for: Pumpkins and good poo poos
Book: Fiona's Fairy Magic
Dance: Avery's own version of what she sees on Dancing with the stars (resembles contemporary)

As for me (Gene) I am still out finding and fixing leaks every day. I am within weeks of acquiring the Commercial Pilots License. This is a kind of a stepping stone to becoming a flight instructor which is a stepping stone for becoming an airline pilot. For a breakdown of what it takes to become an airline pilot, stay tuned. Other than that I am just trying to put together a nursery (under Julie's direction) and playing with Avery when I am home.
