Tonight we went with Eli to a "So You Want to Serve a Mission" fireside. It was so great to hear from President Hansen and Julie and Andrew Brooks and get an idea of what to expect and how to do it. Even though we've started the process with Eli already....they gave some great tips and reminders! Also, Jackson opened his call this week too! It's so surreal to watch Eli's friends get their calls and become these men instead of little boys! Love them all!
We had our annual Young Women's Friendsgiving again this year at our house. We did a Mexican Fiesta theme! We ordered Mexican food, got Juaritos glass sodas, churros, and then talked about our Tender Mercy moments and recognizing them in our daily lives!
Poor Jared! I keep promising I am done with little house projects...but then I keep becoming inspired and I can't help it! I wanted to add board and batton to their bathroom and paint it blue! Jared knocked out the wood part super fast, I didn't even have a chance to help! Then I spent forever painting it! I love it! The twins...well they just wished I would have done something to their room instead - ha ha! They forever live in the ugliest room in every house we own - oops!
We finally got around to pumpkin carving this year (a couple of days late, but worth the wait)....but we tried it using the pressure washer....we learned 2 things....Eli is the best at it and pumpkin guts make Jared gag! I have 5 videos of the boys chasing him and him trying not to gag! All in all, it was a great night had by everyone (Even Emma got in on the action because we facetimed her and she was cracking up the whole time!)...except for maybe Jared!
Halloween looked a little different this year! At Aspen they decided for everyone to be cops and robbers, but then I suggested we just buy everyone matching orange jump suits so we did and we all dressed up and lived our best thug lives! I had to dress up for work on Tuesday and Thursday and Wednesday was our ward Trunk-or-Treat so I borrowed Dr Matt's costume and Jared wore it with me! We had another pumpkin contest at work and I won again this year...Bob Ross for the win! The twins went with their friends to the JV football game and then afterwards they all headed to Addie's and did some trick-or-treating and hanging out! Eli went to Seth's house and hung out with Brasser and Kelson! I do miss taking the kids trick-or-treating! But everyone was happy that night so that's all that matters!
On Sunday after church Katy and I needed a some caffeine so we went to circle k together (because I was driving her home) and as we were heading out Ireland shouted my name in the parking lot and she was there to get some drinks so katy and I went back in and bought her drinks and then texted Dr Hunsaker because he hates that we both go on Sundays and the fact that we were together was even better! Then the Stake YW President called me to give me a compliment on how great our girls are and how kind they are and asked me what I was doing to make it like that and then she mentioned how her daughter liked our ward too - so we took her a drink as well! Sometimes you have to minister to the girls with Circle K on the sabbath and it's worth it!
Then the boys all went to Jenn's house at night for hair cuts and Tyson was walking around in the backyard on facetime helping a friend with their school project and wasn't paying attention and the dingleberry fell into the pool! He saved his phone, got all wet, Nate and Jenn took the video from their security camera and then obviously I texted it to people and then Tyson said on the group chat with me, him, Katy and Quinn..."We have beef Carol" ha ha!
Today I had the honor of taking Eli down to an early voting place to exercise his rights and privileges as an 18 year old American citizen! First time voter 2024! Eli voted for Trump.
