It's a long story which I won't bore you with. But due to my stupidity, among other things, our blog has a new location. All future updates will be here:

Mamma's Little Helpers

I made rolls the other days and the girls were super duper excited to "help". I gave them my extra dough and let them play away.

 

 Do you like Ava's hairdo? She did it herself!

 And don't Sadie's rolls look great?

Sadie got bored after 15 minutes but Ava played with the dough for nearly an hour.  Totally worth the wasted dough!

Halloween 2012

Another Halloween come and gone. It came as no surprise when Sadie wanted to be a repeat of last year (cowgirl riding a horse) and Ava wanted to be a princess. I was sort of tired of the princess thing though so I talked her into being a bride instead. (It didn't take much persuassion. She was super excited!)  Grace however didn't have a choice and she did not like mine! I got her an adorable poodle costume and she cried the whole time she had to wear it.....

The trunk or treat (pictures above) was last friday and the girls came home with tons of candy. Halloween morning we went to trick or treating downtown (sponsored by the library) and got ever more candy. I decided it was enough and we called it good. I'm sure it will be the last year I have that option becuase by next year Ava will be well aware that Halloween is done at night.

 The most important thing is that they got to use their costumes more than once. And came home with lots of candy....which I will of course eat half of.

Fall Into Winter

 

A few short days ago our grass looked like this:

Fall was definintely here but there were very few leaves on the ground.

 We got our first snow of the year a couple of days ago and with it came all the leaves off the trees. Enough to finally make a few piles for the girls to play in.

 Ava made a bed....

 While Sadie quickly destroyed her pile by throwing the leaves in the air.

Then they did it together.

 Aren't leaf piles the best part of fall? That and the colors. And the cooler weather.

This and That

Just a couple of random pictures from the last few weeks....

 This picture reminds me of my sister Krista....I'm 99.9% sure there is a picture somwhere of her just like this.

 I'm having anxiety about her teen years. She's such a diva.

For our family night activity tonight we roasted marshmallows around the campfire. Sadie burned her hand and had to come inside and lay down. In an effort to make her little sister feel better, Ava gathered all of Sadie's favorite horses and piled them on top of her. Then she came running into the kitchen saying "mom, you just have to take a picture of this!" And she was right. Very cute. Oh, and it did make Sadie feel better.

"Love-a-bye"

It's how Sadie says lullaby. I think it says what a lullaby really is just perfectly.

"The Switzerland of America" {Ouray, Co}

Chris's brothe Mike and his wife Alicia invited us on an overnight trip to Ouray a couple of weekends ago and on a whim we decided to go. It was worth it. It's a short 3 hour drive that takes you to some of the most beautiful mountains and scenery in Colorado.

We started our mini vacation with a trip to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool. Then we headed over to Mike and Alicia's campsite for dinner and s'mores. (You can't go camping and not have s'mores!)

 Saturday morning we all went on a hike up to see a beautiful waterfall.

 Chris held Grace for me because otherwise I wouldn't have made it! :)

 We also took another trail that went up even higher and led to an extremely high bridge (in my opinion!) and a very cool tunnel.

 On the way down Superdad held Ava and Sadie both because they were too tired to walk.

 This picture does not do Ouray any justice but its the only scenery picture I took.

 

 

After the hike we had a nice picnic in the park, headed back to the pool and then headed home.

"Daddy's Little Helper"

Sadie goes to work with Chris probably 80% of the time.  She told me the other day she's "daddy's little helper".

 

And it's so true! She even wears her cowgirl boots and hat.  He's such a good dad to let her come. And I'm so grateful to live in a place where my kids get to go to work with their daddy.
