Life in the past 9 months

So... life sure has been interesting over the past umm 9 months! lol Wow I'm bad at this whole blogging thing. I'll keep it more up to date! No promises, but I'll try. I don't have much time right now to update on what's been going on, but I will soon. :)

Surgery

I went to my Surgery Consultation yesterday and met with Dr. Tittensor. She is awesome! I'm glad she'll be doing the surgery. She said the results from my HIDA scan concluded that my gallbladder is not functioning properly. I don't remember what the percentage stood for, but she said on average people are at 37% and I was at 12%. That's not good... So they have decided to remove my gallbladder and hopefully that will solve most of the problems I've been having. I sure hope it does! My Surgery date is Monday, August 11th. I'm not sure what time yet, but I'll be pretty out of it on Monday and probably Tuesday. It will be done laproscopic. They'll make 4 incisions in the right abdomen area. Fun huh!? I'm just looking forward to being out of pain. I'm sure I'll be fine. Drew is taking Monday off to be with me and take care of me. He's such a sweetheart. I am very lucky to have him!

House

Drew and I have been looking into buying a house. We've looked at maybe 10-15 houses and we narrowed it down to 3. The more comparing we did and the more talking about it, we decided on a house in Payson. We are supposed to go look at it again in more detail tomorrow night and hopefully we will be making an offer on it. :) Woohoo!! We are so stinkin excited to be in our own house that we can call ours! The house in Payson has a huge back yard with tons of shade. Beautiful deck and it has 5 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms I think. I'll keep you posted on this subject when we find out more.

Lava Hot Springs

So this past weekend Drew and I went to the Lava Hot Springs in Idaho for fun, but for Drew's birthday too. It was SO much fun!! We went up to Tiffany's family's cabin. Tiffany is Scot Stanger's Wife. :) A couple of their friends came too. Amy & Andrew, Kenzie & Mike and their 2 little boys Aiden & Kale. Aiden is 2 and Kale is 6 months. They were so much fun!! We got along with everyone which was awesome! We just hung out Friday night and talked and played games. Saturday we got up and had a huge breakfast. Then we watched a movie and played more games. Around noon we went to the olympic sized pool that has 2 water slides and 3 diving platforms and an indoor pool with a rock climbing wall in the pool. We hung out there for awhile and swam and played volleyball. We had lunch there. We all had enough sun so we went back to the cabin to relax and hang out some more. We had dinner and watched a movie and then went to the hot springs. Coolest thing ever!! There are probably 3 or 4 different hot springs that are different temperatures. The coolest one was hot enough for me. :) We came back Sunday and went straight to Drew's mom's place for her birthday. We definitely had an enjoyable time and met some new friends! When I get pictures I'll add them.

Surgery

So I'm not sure who all knows about my recent health issues, but I have been through some tests at the Doctor to find out what's wrong with me. I recently found out I have to have my gallbladder removed in the beginning of August. It should be a simple procedure and I'm sure I'll be fine. It just sucks in the mean time because I have sharp pains in my stomach from time to time.

UPDATE

Here's my update! Today is my first day blogging... Woohoo!! Whats been going on in the past 7 or so months you may ask? Well, here you go!

• January 15, 2008 - Drew got into a car accident which he's getting blamed for and was not his fault... I should know, I saw it in my rearview mirror. Don't worry, he didn't get hurt physically, but he is emotionally because he's getting blamed for it. We are still dealing with it all and its one major headache. There's really nothing we can do now. It's out of our hands. We really appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts. We can feel them for sure!
• May 21, 2008 - We went to court for Drew's ticket. Our Lawyer met us there and took care of everything. He went in with the information we have that says Drew is innocent and the prosecuting attorney said this was news to her and said she needed more time. Shocker! They didn't even have a statement from the woman involved in the accident who's fault it really was. Lovely system we have here.
• May 24, 2008 - Got my hair done at Aunt Peggy's. It's short and blonde! I love it!! She did a cute styled haircut which means I really should style it every morning... If you know me well enough I'm never up early enough to do that, but I do my best.
• May 31, 2008 - Drew and I graduated from Provo college!! Woohoo! I thought the day would never come, but I look back and it seriously flew by. Drew got his Associates in Graphic Design. I got an Associates in Accounting. It was in the morning at the Provo Tabernacle. What a beautiful building! My whole family flew out from California to come. I was so excited!
• June 9, 2008 - Drew took me to a Blaze football game. It's indoor football. It was awesome! We won too!
• June 10, 2008 - Happy Birthday to me! I turned 24! Woohoo!! I feel old... haha jk :)
• June 13 & 14, 2008 - We went camping with our friends Kristen & Daniel. They were so cute!! Neither of them really do much camping so this was a treat for them. It was our first camping experience with our camp trailer that we bought for $500. It's a '69, but it's in really good condition. We love it!
• June 17, 2008 - Drew and I have been married for 2 years!! Can you believe it!? Time has flown by. Since we just finished school and actually have time to spend with eachother we really feel like we just got married. We're enjoying married life and just taking in every moment together.
• June 18, 2008 - Grandpa Pickett passed away. He had been sick for a long time, but is finally out of pain. I spent a lot of time the following week with Grandma and Mom. She was in town and was able to spend some time with Grandpa before he passed away, which was really good. I think she would've had a really hard time if she wasn't here. Things do happen for a reason and I am so blessed to know that we will see him again. I know that he is in Heaven catching up with family and friends. Grandpa knew lots of people so I'm sure he's still catching up to this day. I love him so much and he will be missed. Until we meet again Grandpa...
• July 4, 2008 - Drew and I went up to Clinton and spent the weekend with Grandma, Peggy and Gary. It was nice just to relax and have a good time.
• July 11 & 12, 2008 - We went camping with Steve & Jess & their 2 girls Carly & Sage, Mike & Nicole & their little girl Morgan, & Curtis & Robie. We had a lot of fun with this group! Drew used to work with Steve and currently works with Mike and Curtis. We've been hanging out with Robie and Curtis a lot. They're fun and we're glad they're not sick of us yet. We also went fishing Saturday morning and I caught 1 fish and Drew caught 2 fish!
• July 17, 2008 - I had a Work BBQ at the park in Mapleton. We were celebrating the final testing of the Box Beam which is part of the wing on the plane. That means I get a raise! Woohoo!! We like those.
• July 19, 2008 - Drew and I woke up Saturday morning and got a phone call from our friends Brett and Ashley. They had 2 extra tickets to go see The Dark Knight movie that afternoon. Their friends that were supposed to go with them went into labor. So we got to go with them. Good movie!!! We loved it!! Definitely going to buy that one. Heath Ledger was amazing! That night we had Kristen & Daniel & Curtis over for dinner. After dinner we met up with Robie and went to the $1 theatre and saw What Happens in Vegas. Cameron Diaz & Ashton Kutcher did a great job! I thought it was hilarious!

That brings us up to date. Drew and I are currently working full time. Drew works for Neways as a Graphic Designer in Springville, UT and I work for Rocky Mountain Composites doing Accounts Payable in Spanish Fork, UT. We both love our jobs. We live in Provo in a 4-plex. We are waiting to get pre approved to possibly buy a house around here. We plan on living in Utah for a few years, but eventually want to move to California. We'll see what happens. I'll add some pictures next time!
