I'm back!

Wow what a terrible blogger I am.  So much has happened since the last time you found me here.  Um to name a few:
We celebrated our 5 year anniversary.  Love you Joseph.

Ruby celebrated the big #1. She was so cute. She loved her cake and the lame-o little party we had (presents and cake with mom and dad count as a party right?).

Joseph got a new job at the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson as the teen director - and he rocks that job and loves it.

I finally got my hygiene license in Vegas and got a job the same day I activated it.  I work one day a week and love the office and love my co-workers.

Joseph presented his master's thesis at Cambridge University in Cambridge UK, so I tagged along and we celebrated his accomplishments and a job well done by enjoying a much needed baby free week long vacation in London.  We were there the week before the Olympics which was a fun and busy time to be there.

My little bro Kevin stayed with us for a couple of months - which was a very good time especially for Joseph who had someone to talk college football with 24/7.

Now school has started and we are finally into a rhythm, well kind of.  Ruby has had a horrible month filled with a bad cold which turned into an ear infection which turned into a full body allergic reaction to Amoxicillin which we finally got rid of and now she has what seemed like the flu but is actually a UTI (urinary tract infection).  Poor little honey.  Hopefully she is on the repair now.

Beardy the cell phone talking soccer player

We love bubbles!
Thanks for the jersey Uncle Kevin.
I just like this one!

Recap of the last 2 months

We've been busy. . . I think!  At least it would appear that way.  Let me give you an abbreviated version of the last two months of our lives.
In mid March my parents and two younger sister's came down for a visit.  We had a great time shopping, going to Bonnie Springs petting zoo, hot tubing, peeking out the window one night while a drug bust or something went down across the parking lot (I need to tell that story) and just hanging out.  Here's a few snap shots from Bonnie Springs:

Me and Ruby
Joseph eating with the deer, sheep and goats.
Cruising in a mine car.
This donkey loved my mom. . . or at least the food she had.
My mom and Jess on a merri-go-round. . . they still make these?

Whitney afraid of the fat white pony?

We also had spent a week in Utah visiting our families.  Which was so nice.  I love having other people around to hold and entertain Ruby for a bit.  She is so spoiled.  For some cute pictures of Ruby that my bro and sis-in-law took click here.

We also just visited Joseph's family this last weekend for his nephew's 12th birthday.  It was a blast!  Here is some photos of Ruby (thanks to my mother-in-law).

Practicing Mozart.
Tutu
Uncle Will
"I just can't seem to get this orange on this fork."
Ruby started giving kisses. . . this is her attempt to kiss Daisy
One more thing. . . or maybe two.  I got this Burger King crown at church one Sunday and Ruby tried it on, funny thing is she is the queen in our house.

Ruby fell asleep eating the other day.  Daisy was so distraught that Ruby wasn't feeding her like she usually does so she whimpered to try to wake her.

So sleepy!
There is Daisy not so patiently waiting.

Happy Easter

I love spring and especially Easter.  Ruby wore a beautiful dress today I thought you might like to see.

Oh yeah and I chopped my hair.  It's not super short but it certainly seems so.

You have got to read this!

You know those books you read. . . and LOVE. . . and are sad when you finish because the story is over?  This totally one of them:

My fantastic sister-in-law recommended it and so Joseph bought it for me for Christmas.  When I opened the book and saw the format it was written in I thought, "a book written in letter format? Well that was a waste of money."  But I gave it a try anyway and I absolutely LOVED this book!  Please read it. . . . I promise you will love it.

Also Ruby has teeth. . . and CRAZY hair, but what's new?

One year older and wiser too!

Happy birthday to me!  Yesterday was my birthday. . . and it was a wonderful day.  The weather was awesome.  I participated in Bountiful Baskets, Joseph made me breakfast and then took me to the outlet mall.  It was also free pretzel day at Auntie Anne's in honor of me.  I got 3 pairs of pants (including some orange skinnies) and a shirt. . . and a water bottle cage for my bike.  We finished off the day with a late afternoon nap and dinner at Chili's.  The day was fun, the company fantastic, the gifts are just what I wanted, and I'm finally old enough to drink :)  A good birthday!

My love/hate relationship with WinCo

A WinCo Foods was just opened next to my house. . . literally next door.  I can throw a rock from my porch and hit the WinCo Foods.  I have been looking forward to the grand opening since the day we moved here.  I've been dreaming of the ease of shopping and the ability to run next door to grab some eggs if I'm out or grab that one ingredient that I don't have on hand for my meal.  Today was the grand opening.  Today?  Today.  Sunday.  I've shed many a tear on my ad listing the great grand opening deals they have going on today.  I spat out my window at the many cars coming in and out of the parking lot on my way to and from church.  No grand opening day for me.  I hate you WinCo Foods for opening on Sunday. . . .but I love you all the same.  It's a shame that we have a relationship like this and we haven't even been properly introduced.
