Two more weeks at Duck Creek

Shelbie and Caleb had so much fun sleeping in a tent. Caleb loved using the flashlights, as you can see he has both of his daddy's big flashlights.
So cute, they are holding hands......Shelbie is a wonderful big sister. Sometimes I think she thinks she is the mom. She has given Caleb spanks before when he acts up or teases her.
Jeff likes to fly fish. This is at Asay Creek. He caught a huge brown trout, 18 inches long. We were lucky enough to have been there to see it. We made him leave soon thereafter. We like to whine and complain throughout the entire trip.
Oh my goodness Caleb, what do you see? A lion, a tiger, a bear?

Oh, It's just Shelbie.......

Another visit to the ER

It's hard to believe but just over 1 month ago we were in the ER because I had a kidney stone, and we were back again because of an accident that happened in Duck Creek on Cedar mountain. So here's the story.........We took a little weekend trip up to Duck Creek to go camping and fishing with the kids and Jeff's family. The kids and I were in the trailer doing puzzles, and once we finished I said, "ok kids lets go into our tent now." Caleb ran for the screen door, pushed it open and basically flew out of the trailer, skipping the steps and flipping onto the rocks and pavement below. We spent about 3 hours in the ER. Luckily Caleb was asleep for most of the long wait. And trying to be optimistic I told Jeff it isn't very often we get so much quiet time together.....Anyways, the nurse and doctor were both really nice and they glued Calebs head and underneath his nose back together instead of stiches. Once they brought the bord in the room that Caleb was to be strapped onto, I had to leave. I stood in hall, closed my eyes, plugged my ears, hummed and cried, and I could still hear my little buddy screaming for me. It was so sad. I still don't know how Jeff stayed in the room, but that is what daddy's are for-protection. He said he wanted to make sure the doctor and nurses took good care of him.

Wedding Bells Anyone?

So Jeff and I purchased a wedding business this past month. A good friend of mine used to own it and is sadly moving up north for her husband to go to school and didn't want to take it all with them. I've been doing wedding flowers for a few years now, and thought it would be fun to be able to offer backdrops, table cloths, trees, centerpieces, etc.... We are still trying to decide on a business name, but I think we like Floral Designs & Events. Our back drops are very comparable to what the other wedding rental places here have in town, and I believe our prices are better. So, if any of you know of anyone tying the knot, please send them our way!

Happy 4th Birthday Shelbie!

It seems like all I have been posting about lately is birthdays! June, July and August are busy months for us. Shelbie's birthday is actually tomorrow. We celebrated last night with my side of the family, and tonight we will celebrate with Jeff's side of the family, and tomorrow we just might be too tired to celebrate on her actual birthday!
It's hard to believe that my little girl is growing up so fast. She is so much fun, and a total princess. She says the most profound things when she prays. She has such a special little spirit, I feel like I have so much to learn from her.
We were in Michaels last week with my sister and mom looking at cupcake stands for my sisters wedding when Shelbie spotted this cake and really wanted it for her birthday. It actually wasn't that hard to make! I was quite nervous....but once I was done I really enjoyed making it! It looks nothing like the picture on the box since fondent isn't my forte. But I think that it turned out good, and Shelbie liked it so that is all that matters. I would really like to take a cake decorating class sometime.
