Adoption Day!!!!!

Sept 20, 2010
This is Judge Davis - He actually performed the adoption for Daniel 10 years ago.

Every one who came to the adoption. I feel outnumbered - being the only girl.

We had to be there by 8:30 - you would have thought he wouldn't be so tired yet.

Food Tastes of a 3Year-Old

We have had to deal with Daniel's picky eating habits for over 10 years now. He hates peanut butter, loves trout, and sucks on lemons and peanut shells. Now we have a 3 year-old that seems to have a bottomless pit for a stomache and loves everything we put on the table. We're not sure how to handle it. Simon's favorite sandwich right now is buttered toast and pickles. We're not sure where that come from, but his grandpa Jones is loving it! He wakes up and wants a corndog or Spaghetti-O's and then finishes the day off with a bowl full of guacamole! Whatever. He has learned how to heat up his own corndog and even gets out the ketsup himself. I definitely don't have to worry about him starving before I get dinner on the table.

Webelos Daycamp

He's the one in the back on the right.
He has loved this section every year of daycamp.

This is my favorite shot - so patriotic.

You'd never know he had so much fun
with that scowl on his face. I think it's because
they made him tuck in his uniform.
This is Daniel's last year in Cubs and is so close to getting his Arrow of Light. Most of the things they worked on at day camp were for the Scientist badge - which he just barely earned, so it didn't help him, but it did help the other 5 boys in his den. He is the only boy that is consistent in going and I will attribute that to me making sure he got there every week and now to Vince, since he was called as the new Webelos leader 6 weeks ago. He had fun at camp. They rowed boats, climbed, made rockets and shot bb guns. All the things 10-year olds love to do.

My Boys are Growing Up

This is how I found my boys at nap time. As you can see, there is no jealousy here - and definitely no napping.

Jacob at 4 months

All 4 of my boys - watching tv

Simon has been wearing boy boy underwear for at least a week now- with no accidents. I guess he finally decided he could be the big boy now. We were almost there when Jacob came and so we're glad that we no longer have to buy 2 different boxes of diapers everytime we go to Costco or Sam's. Along with that Jacob is now 4 months old! Can you believe that?!? Where has the time gone? I don't have any stats - his dr's appointment isn't until this week, but he definitely is filling out and we're seeing an emerging joyful personality. He wakes up just cooing and smiling until we change him and get a bottle to him then he continues to coo and goo and spit up. I hope that stops soon. I'm tired of changing my clothes 10 times a day.

Our Lagoon Staycation

Simon Had to Try Every Ride - He Could Not Get Enough
Daniel liked this ride with his cousins

Tubes and hot weather go great together, don't you think?

Even Jacob enjoyed his first trip to Lagoon

With Vince and I both having the same day off - which is unusual, we decided to have a quick trip to Lagoon. My sister and 2 of her girls met us there and we closed the park down. They had to keep telling us which direction the exit was - as if we didn't know. Simon loved the rides - and did really well, but did get scared on one of the rides. Daniel liked the Wild Mouse so much he went 8 times. I mostly watched the baby but did get on a few rides and got wet at Lagoon A Beach. The kids were sound to sleep before we hit the freeway.

Independence Weekend

.
The Jones Family
.
the tallest and shortest grandchildren - 6'2" and 2'6"
>.
All 16 grandchildren - if you look closely, Tipper, the dog, had to join in the photo op too.

Some of the cousins in the red wagon. This wagon became one of the 'rides' for the kids. The joy of living on a hill.
By the time the night was over - the boys didn't last long enough to even crawl in bed

As you grow up and move out on your own - you see your siblings less and less and then if you see more than one at a time - you feel grateful, so when all 5 get together - it's almost a miracle. My sister came up with her family to pick up their son from EFY, while my brother, came east to have their annual summer break - and they just happened to be here the same weekend - so I quickly organized a BBQ at my house and for the 1st time in almost 3 years - we were all together with all 16 grandchildren! We thought this was a great photo op. The kids did not, but at least we got a few with them and then just us siblings - no whole family shots - hopefully, we'll all see each other again for Thanksgiving and maybe we can get some more family photos.

Need to Catch Up

So, in March - Vince and I became new parents - again. It was fast and we weren't ready for it, but we know it was meant to be. It is Simon's full blood brother and he have named him Jacob. The ward has been very generous and have donated tons of clothes and Simon and Daniel love him very much
