Around the Neighborhood

We finally took the training wheels off for Jonev...
he is so happy and he didn't miss a beat.
He did have one mishap, but that was because he was showing off.  He got up and after he calmed down, he still rode the bike the to school to get his brothers.  He's a tough cookie.
Jontu hanging out on the playground toys at our neighborhood park.
Jongr showing off his keychain that he made this summer at cub scout day camp.
The school had a Muffins with Mom event, we all enjoyed chocolate milk and muffins before school.
 Jonli and Mom
We found a neat park near our new house and had fun riding the T-Rex.

New things for Us

How fun that the moving truck we rented was the Ohio one, we had to take a picture.  We stuffed the truck full and still made quite a few trips in the van.  We were blessed to have help from both the ward that we left and the new ward to move.  We are so grateful for all of the help.

The week after the move was spent finishing up things at the old house and getting the boys ready for school.  We took advantage of the JC Penney free haircuts in August and all 3 boys were able to get their haircut. Jontu above and Jonev below.

Here is the after picture, the ladies did such a great job and the boys sat still and enjoyed the experience.   It was the first time that Jonev and Jontu have had someone besides mom cut their hair.  Jonli is saying cheese in her funny wrinkle up my face way that we see so often when we try to take her picture now.
First Day of 4th Grade - Jongr
(I don't know why he and Jontu decided that they needed to wear pants the first day, it was hot)
First Day of 1st Grade - Jontu
Jonev and Jonli in on the first day action too, we always take pictures of all of the kiddos the first day.  There were lots of jitters and we almost didn't get them taken.
Jontu posing impromptu in Jonli's tutu.  He thought it was funny to put it on and I asked for a ballerina pose and this is what he did.  Silly boy.

Uncle Ben had to come to Houston for work so we got to see him and he got to see the new house too, just a week after we moved in.  It was GREAT to have him here just for a bit.  We are glad that work brings him to Houston sometimes.
Another cute picture of Jonli before church last Sunday.  We love this sweet little girl!

Oh what do you do in the Summertime...

Here are a few pictures of some of the things that we have been doing this summer.  I thought that I would post this today, since we are going to be without internet for about 1 week as we move to the new house

Go to the beach.

Eat snow cones at Kahuna Joe's on your way home from the beach.
Put on the hole armor of God for FHE. Jonev
 Jongr
 Jontu

Wear sunglasses and enjoy fun packages from Grandma.
Play on the iPad while waiting for mom and dad to sign papers on the new house.
Have water day in the back yard with your friends.
Have to say good-bye to dear friends who are moving out of state.
 Dress up pretty for church.
Move to a new house.  Play with the wonderful things that Grandma's send for the in between time when all things are packed and ready to move and nothing is moved yet.  I promise to post pictures of the new house soon, once everything is a little more settled (i.e unpacked and hooked up again).  :)

4th of July and other fun things

This year I made shirts for us to wear on the 4th of July.  The boys love the big lone star because it also works for TX they say.  Here are a few pictures of us wearing them.
Jonli and Mom, she loves to have her hair done now and it is so much fun!
Jonli and Jontu, she also got a skirt to match her shirt, it's fun to make girlie things.
On our recent trip to the zoo Jonli kept finding all of the purple flowers and saying the they matched her shirt, this time she also asked dad to take a picture.  It's really cute!  She also says her favorite color is purple, but she likes pink too.
We made red white and blue drinks for the 4th of July dinner this year, it was a fun experiment that we could eat, I think the best kind.  The science behind it is the denser liquid will stay on the bottom.  The boys liked their drinks mixed all together, silly boys.
We made green monster smoothies with bananas, peanut butter, and spinach.  Jongr and I both enjoyed them, but the other jedi's not so much.  It tasted just like bananas and pb, delicious!  Everytime we make a smoothie Jongr asks for green now.  It's also his favorite food to make, I think.
Jonev has discovered that he can make lego creations and he kept changing them up and then asking for a new picture this day.  He is such a little cutie!

We went to the zoo

Filmed on location at the Houston Zoo. Filmed on my phone. Edited on my phone. Uploaded to YouTube from my phone. My phone is smart and useful.

We enjoyed seeing the animals today. Old favorites and rarely seen species. It wasn't too hot but it was humid. The jedi's all released a good amount of sweat during the filming.

Jedi show offs

Jongr and Jontu shared some talents at their spring piano recital. The both played individually and also decided to play a duet. The song is "Do As I'm Doing."

The Girl Jedi

In a family dominated by boys, our cute little girl stands out. At times when we are out strangers will comment to us, "Three boys and finally a girl." Yes, we did it. And she is unique. Tough enough to wrestle with her brothers and girly enough to enjoy dresses and all things pink and purple.

The many faces of Jonli
Ever since her hair was long enough we wanted to put it in pig tails. At the time she did not like it but recently she can't go a day with out her pig tails.

What a Spring Break!

We had so much fun this past week, it really is nice when all of the little Jedi's are home and we can do things on our own schedule.  We started the week off with a bike ride at the park, finding a geocache and  some Texas sugar cookies.  We decorated them for our FHE activity on Monday night.
Jonev enjoyed putting the sprinkles on all by himself.
Jontu was especially happy because the cookies were his idea.  Everyone got to pick one to eat that night and one to save, all of the kids chose to save their biggest cookie for the next day.  That surprised us.

We went to the library and listened to Mr. Victor read books about bugs, and brought home lots of books to keep us happy for a few weeks.  We rode our bikes around our neighborhood and down to the school.  The boys love riding around the carpool circle at the school and chose that over going somewhere else.  The boys were able to keep themselves happy and busy with some new pearler beads while Jonli was napping.  They made 10 in all and lined them up by type.  We used almost every bead from the new package.  It had been awhile since we played with them.
Thursday we went camping at Huntsville State Park with our cousins.  We found this cool bug on our hike the first day. (It's the green thing on the boardwalk below Jontu.
The next day we went on a much longer than expected hike looking for geocaches, we were gone a little more than 2 hours.
The kids did really well, they were pretty tired by the time that we got back to camp.
Jonli loved riding in the back pack and was able to take a nap in it too.  She didn't want to get down, it was pretty cute.
Jongr by one of the controlled burn areas, it was neat for him to see the new trees growing up where they had burned.  Right now in science he is studying habitats and so this enhanced his understanding of it.
Jonli decided that this log looked good enough to get out of the back pack for.  She and Jone enjoyed sitting on it while we waited for a few of the kids to walk across the creek and find another geocache.
Boys and fire, need I say more?  They were so tired after the hike that after we ate lunch we drove over to the big Sam Houston Statue and found another geocache and then bought the kids a Sonic drink.  It did the trick to perk everyone up again and then they were ready for more fun by the time we got back to camp.
Yes, we still had cell coverage at this beautiful park.
Roasting extra large marshmallows for our yummy smores.
We finally got around to some fishing on Saturday after breakfast, here's Jongr putting his own worm on.
It was pretty sunny and therefore a little warm sitting out on the dock without any shade.  Jonev loved sitting and holding the fishing pole, when he got a chance.  None of our party caught any fish this time, but we were able to watch someone bring in about a 10inch bass and a large crappie.
We all enjoyed a ride in the canoe too, thanks Brandon for all of the fishing and boating fun.  They even saw an alligator out in the canoe, good thing it was on the other side of the lake from us.
