We had so much fun this past week, it really is nice when all of the little Jedi's are home and we can do things on our own schedule. We started the week off with a bike ride at the park, finding a geocache and some Texas sugar cookies. We decorated them for our FHE activity on Monday night.
Jonev enjoyed putting the sprinkles on all by himself.
Jontu was especially happy because the cookies were his idea. Everyone got to pick one to eat that night and one to save, all of the kids chose to save their biggest cookie for the next day. That surprised us.
We went to the library and listened to Mr. Victor read books about bugs, and brought home lots of books to keep us happy for a few weeks. We rode our bikes around our neighborhood and down to the school. The boys love riding around the carpool circle at the school and chose that over going somewhere else. The boys were able to keep themselves happy and busy with some new pearler beads while Jonli was napping. They made 10 in all and lined them up by type. We used almost every bead from the new package. It had been awhile since we played with them.
Thursday we went camping at Huntsville State Park with our cousins. We found this cool bug on our hike the first day. (It's the green thing on the boardwalk below Jontu.
The next day we went on a much longer than expected hike looking for geocaches, we were gone a little more than 2 hours.
The kids did really well, they were pretty tired by the time that we got back to camp.
Jonli loved riding in the back pack and was able to take a nap in it too. She didn't want to get down, it was pretty cute.
Jongr by one of the controlled burn areas, it was neat for him to see the new trees growing up where they had burned. Right now in science he is studying habitats and so this enhanced his understanding of it.
Jonli decided that this log looked good enough to get out of the back pack for. She and Jone enjoyed sitting on it while we waited for a few of the kids to walk across the creek and find another geocache.
Boys and fire, need I say more? They were so tired after the hike that after we ate lunch we drove over to the big Sam Houston Statue and found another geocache and then bought the kids a Sonic drink. It did the trick to perk everyone up again and then they were ready for more fun by the time we got back to camp.
Yes, we still had cell coverage at this beautiful park.
Roasting extra large marshmallows for our yummy smores.
We finally got around to some fishing on Saturday after breakfast, here's Jongr putting his own worm on.
It was pretty sunny and therefore a little warm sitting out on the dock without any shade. Jonev loved sitting and holding the fishing pole, when he got a chance. None of our party caught any fish this time, but we were able to watch someone bring in about a 10inch bass and a large crappie.
We all enjoyed a ride in the canoe too, thanks Brandon for all of the fishing and boating fun. They even saw an alligator out in the canoe, good thing it was on the other side of the lake from us.
