Dance Festival and Last Day of School

I barely made it in time for Katie's dance festival.  Her class danced to Rockomotion.  She was so cute.  They gave out red bandanas for literacy week that they were supposed to wear.  Well, she didn't like hers so as you can see, no bandana.
She was looking for me so I'm glad I got there in time.

Last day of school!  She spilt all of her stuff out of her box when she got off the bus.  Thanks Madeline for helping her.

So happy for summer to start.

All the kiddos just off the bus.

Our friends the Clarks had a fun after school party.

Gotta get some chow down.

Going down the huge water slide.  She loved it.  Thanks for the invite Jane.

Later that night I went to Trevor's graduation.  Gonna miss this kid when he leaves to Liberia in a few months.

Kindergarten Graduation

It was a little over a year ago that I registered Katie for kindergarten and walked out of the school in tears because my baby was growing up way too fast.  And now she has graduated from kindergarten.  And I am so excited for how much she has grown over the past year.  She has learned so much mentally, socially, physically and emotionally.  She is such an amazing little girl.
Here's the banner that was up in the gym.

They did this whole program of stuff they learned every month during the year.  They sang lots of songs.

The back of Katie as she shakes hands with Mrs. Ross.  (I could've moved over to the parent feeding frenzy on the other side, but I was a too lazy).

Katie with her teacher Mrs. Nuttall.

Katie with her best classmate friend, McKayla.

Our little graduate.

So grown up.

This is her classroom.

And of course we got to get a picture in front of the school with her holding her certificate.  Congratulations Katie.  We are so proud of you.

Katie Turns 6!

Katie turned 6 this year.  It's so crazy to think that she is already 6.  The years are going by too fast.  We went miniature golfing for her birthday activity and then to the Pizza Factory, but I didn't take any pictures.  Boo.  I did get pictures of her on her actual birthday though.
I have put a toy on her birthday cake every year since she turned 2 and she now expects it.  She's starting to get old enough that I think it will be somewhat a challenge in a year or two.  Right now she's into Sofia the First.

Blowing out 6 candles takes a lot more air than 5.

Opening gifts.  Thank you everyone.

We love our little 6 year old.  She is beautiful and so much fun.  She can be rather independent and confident when she chooses to.  She is getting better at riding her bike and doing things she's never done before.  She loves to play pretend family with her friends.  She likes chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup and caramel all over it.  She's a little rabbit, with all the veggies she chows down on.  She is learning to read and I'm sure next year will be a pro at it.  We love you Katie!

Henry's Blessing Day

I am hoping to get caught up on blogging soon.  So we'll start off with May, which was a bit of a crazy month.  We began with Henry's blessing.  He is such a joy to have in our family and it was nice for our family and friends that could make it to celebrate this day with us.
Our little family before church.

I'm so happy to have such a worthy priesthood man as my husband and father to our children.

I so love my new little guy.
In his blessing outfit on the blanket that Aunt Mikkel made for him.

He is such a smiley baby.

Children's Discovery Museum

So about a month ago we went on an outing to the Children's Discovery Museum at the Gateway with our good friends Jeff and Lindsey and their little family. We were there for hours enjoying the museum and could have spent even more time than we did.
We started out at Rumbi's for lunch.  Yummy.  Jason got himself some chopsticks and Katie had to try them out for herself.

Playing music.

Katie and Lexie played with the babies in the cute little house for quite some time.  They are such good little mommies.

Then off to the grocery store.  I have to say that the full basket of random items is pretty much how real life would be if I allowed her to actually shop when she goes with me.

The grocery store was definitely popular with these two.

Because everyone stops to smell the flowers whilst riding horseback.

Out for a drive with Carter.

This is how Henry hung out in the museum.  Jason was holding him for a couple of minutes and someone asked to hold him.  He was polite and said no, but seriously, who asks a stranger to hold their baby?

Putting on a play.  Katie was the director.

The news area was also very popular.  You can't tell me that you wouldn't watch the news if these two cuties were behind the desk.

Doing the weather.  I think Katie was more excited to be dancing on the camera.

This was a simulator for a hurricane.  At one point, Katie's hair was flying straight up.  They loved it.

Even Jason and Jeff found some toys for themselves.

Piloting the Life Flight Helicopter.  It was rather loud.

He's soooo strong.

They worked so hard to build a fort or something and I missed getting a picture of it before some other kids destroyed it.  To say they were a little put out is quite an understatement.  We left the museum soon after the wrecking occurred.  It was such a fun day.  Thanks for the invite Jeff and Lindsey.

Spring Break

We had quite a fun spring break this year. I was feeling bad that so much attention had been going to Henry so I wanted to make sure that Katie had a nice, fun week. The first day we just chilled at home and we all got some much needed sleep. On Tuesday, we hung out with Uncle Trevor (I didn't take any pictures) eating ice cream and playing with his Wii U. On Wednesday we headed to Thanksgiving Point with our Robb cousins, Ellie, Hailee and Kason. We waited in line for about 30 minutes just to get in.

They had colored some of the sheep's wool for Easter and so we had to take a picture with the pink one.

In jail.

Such a pro that she didn't want to hold on.

On Thursday we headed back to Thanksgiving Point, but to the dino museum. This time with our good friends the Hawleys. Katie and Lexie are just two peas in a pod.

Digging for dinos in the water and sand.

She could have stayed here forever that day

And we always have to pose with the shark

This is how Henry spent spring break.  Asleep in his carrier.

Digging for more dinosaurs.

And one more picture with the big one at the entrance.

On Friday Aunt Jordan was in town and Jason left work early so we went bowling.

Guess who got a strike. It was a great week and it made us all anxious for summer.
