GIRLS CAMP 2013

was OZsome!

(Anyone that is visiting this site for ideas for their own girl's camp and have questions please feel free to email me at Utah.Life.CE@gmail.com I'm happy to help!)

I was so excited to be the camp director for our ward this year. Here is a run down of how much fun we all had!

Thank you to our wonderful characters from our ward that came up for the evening value walk!

Welcomed to camp by our YCL munchkins on the yellow brick road that handed out lollipops from the Lollipop Guild!

The Munchkins sang us a lovely song written by our YW President to "Welcome us to Girls Camp!"

Dorothy baskets with golden bricks (Hershey almond Nuggets) from the yellow brick road were on our beds when we arrived to the cabins.

The cabin was beautiful and marked clearly for Oz Camp with the poppy field in front and the yellow brick road under the rainbow!

Banana boats for dessert!

Before our value walk they got little snack baggies of animal crackers with this tag :)
Our value walk was based on the characters of the Wizard of Oz. We had members of our ward come dressed up as the characters and had them hide around the grounds and give their little talk.

Thanks again to all the leaders that helped with the walk it was so great! Another thank you to Brother Felstead the Good for coming up and making us laugh so hard playing games!

We got everyone a shirt and I wanted it to be groovy so I tried my hardest. I put all the girls names and some sayings etc into an outline of the Wizard of Oz characters...

A list of all the words and names on their shirts...

The girls had so much fun with the extra clay I brought up for them to try out... they did awesome!

Bishop was able to make it and the girls made him some swag to wear!

We did several gifts for the girls but here are the cute retro glasses we got for them with the quote to go with it...

The girls had a blast and spent lots of time down at the pond. They would come back with fun stories but said it was freezing! I never even went down to the pond!

We have great leaders and support from the ward and parents!

Because we have such amazing girls!!!

I made peach dump cake for the girls the last night. It's my favorite!

Not sure if the girls ate much of the cake but the whipped cream was all gone!

One of my most favorite and surprising moments was listening to Hannah and OP sing to her ukulele.

Second favorite was giving Brother Smith a hard time about putting the fire out with the shovel!

Skits were great. We gave the groups of girls a bag of random items and told them they had to come up with a skit that had something from the Wizard of Oz.

Here is Brooklyn in her footie pajamas acting as the Scarecrow in purple spandex, pointing the right way to go.

Toothpasted up for some snipe hunting.
