WE ARE PREGNANT!!! This is probably not new, news to many of you but I have really slacked on my blogging (in case you hadn't noticed). Since we are sure to have many exciting adventures to come I decided I should try to blog about it. We will see how long this lasts!
So, here's how it all went down. We have gone back and forth for a while now about when would be a good time to start a family. With Jeremy in school and me in a fairly new job we decided there was never going to be a perfect time. We agreed October would be a good time to start "trying". We both thought that if it was in God's plan we would hopefully be pregnant by the first of the year. Much to our surprise October was all of the "trying" we got to do. We were both SHOCKED to discover we were pregnant so quickly. I am very thankful that this was a very easy process for us, God knows all too well how impatient I tend to be. The first few weeks were fine, I continued running and doing my normal routine but little did I know that was about to change. Around week eight the constant nausea and extreme fatigue set in. I never knew tired until pregnancy. I felt like the most worthless person EVER. Jeremy was great though, he literally waited on me night and day. He was amazing! I also had a few complications early on. I developed a hemorrhage in my uterus which was not fun, and my progesterone was low so I had to start medication. It was all very stressful until about week 12 when everything normalized. PRAISE GOD! It was also around week 12 that I started feeling like myself again. I was starting to think that day would never come. Looking back I really didn't have it very bad (compared to some people) and I tried to maintain and attitude of gratitude for this incredible gift from God but some days it was hard. Today marks week 14 and I thought things were really going my way until last night after work. I started developing severe abdominal and back pain on my way home from work. I went straight to bed when I got home and did not move for a solid 2 hours but the pain continued to worsen. Jeremy finally convinced me to go to the ER. VERY GLAD I DID! I passed a kidney stone around midnight last night. CRAZY HUH!? Baby is fine though. Moving around like a wild person and all my blood work is fine. Thankful that experience is over and don't want to do it again. Today has been a better day. I feel like someone punched me in the right side of my abdomen but other than that I am fine. We are so excited for the adventure to come. Thought I would share our latest ultrasound picture from last night.
