Eva's 8

Why is time flying by? It seems so slow when you're a kid. Once I hit senior year of high school I started to notice time would go by so fast. Now it's like you blink and your daughter is eight years old and has decided to get baptized, tells you how she wants to cut her hair and you can have actual conversations with her.
Eva is becoming my pre-pretween...sigh.

We must have taken this picture about 3,000 times! Not one had her eyes open. Oh well. DSC_0113 DSC_0114

One of her favorite breakfast treats is the sausage biscuit from McDonalds, so Jeremy got up early and got her once for breakfast before school. DSC_0120

Eva's presents. She's obsessed with the Fur Real animals- I think those are the only toys she kept from the ones I got rid of. DSC_0125

At class- I made cake pops the night before, in her favorite color, orange. DSC_0126

No one is allowed to eat until she takes her first bite! DSC_0129

Eva requested baked potatoes for dinner. DSC_0131 DSC_0134 DSC_0135

JJ

JJ has lost so much baby weight since these were taken.
:(
Isn't is the cutest!

Jeremy's sis Anna and her husband Sam were in Oregon over the holiday's and they came for a visit a few days before Eva's birthday.
Isn't she gorgeous?! She's a model in New York.
Don't mind my super greasy face in this picture...someone get me some skin products stat!

Christmas 2011

I am so behind on updating the blog!
Sorry to everyone who actually relys on this blog to see pics of the kids!

This Christmas Jeremy and I made a decison to not buy any toys.
Several months ago I got rid of all of the girls' toys. I got SO sick of hearing myself say, "Clean up these toys!" That I decided to clean them up- forever.
And the really sad part is that they didn't even care! The only "toys" we kept were a few stuffed animals and some pet shop pets.
The girls make up their own games, they like to do crafts more than anything and play with boxes!
I feel like and idiot for ever buying toys past babyhood.
Of course now JJ is getting older and the toys are starting to spread- mostly giant legos.
It has begun. I'm  hoping to keep it in check this time around...third times a charm right?
Here's our Christmas in a few pictures:

We stuck to our making giant gingerbread men tradition. Here's photographic proof of Elle's crazy eye:

Christmas Tree Hunt 2011

AKA- JJ's first tree hunt, this was more or less his feelings throughout the whole process.
We found it!
Everyone takes a turn cutting it down.

Even the Jayster did his part

Look, I was there too! Just like last year only JJ's on the outside and my boots are much less new looking.

Early Christmas

Before our big move the girls were living in a little bit of chaos...
then we moved and their room was still in a bit of chaos...
So Jeremy and I decided to get them an early Christmas present...a "new" room.
We had them pick out some bedding that they really liked, Jeremy and I built a trundle bed that I found on Pinterest (if you don't know about Pinterest, you should...let me know if you want in, I have a few invites) and I organized all their clothes from the move and got their whole room in order.
The before:
The After:
It's not perfect but we did our best and tried to get them a new and comfortable room in our new place. They've taken to it well, they are doing a great job taking care of their new things and I already have a million more ideas running through my head on how to make their room even more special for them.
Happy early Christmas Eva and Elle!

JJ's 8 months!

*He's signing milk
*turns out I may have the only baby in the world that prefers gerber food over "homemade" baby food...I've tried everything and he always gags after a few bites...but give him some gerber and he's over the moon. (first picture is from some homemade chicken noodle soup...he was done after 3 bites)
*he sits up pretty well but we still like to put pillows behind him just in case
*he's starting to get up on his knees...but his chest is always one the floor when he does it.
*he's talking a lot more...sometimes he sucks his thumb, but only sideways.
*when he rubs his eyes it's the cutest thing I've ever seen
*he's starting to arch his back and throw fits...so turns out boys throw fits just like girls do, it's mostly when you take something away that he really wants...usually the remote or paper that he's trying to eat.
*he loves it when Elle slaps him around...sounds weird, but she's the only one that gets away with it slash, the only one that actually slaps him in the face...she will literally slap his cheeks around and he just laughs and laughs. must be a brother sister thing I don't get.

JJ lights up all of our lives, I can't believe he's 8 months already...I wish he was little still, of course little for JJ was about 10lbs ago and then he was still huge...but I can't believe how quickly it is all going by. I already miss him but I'm trying really hard to live in the moment day by day.

When you move...

...Elle has a chance to go through lots of boxes...boxes in which old baby clothes have been for many years.
But in Elle's eyes it's just new pieces for a wardrobe of her own styling.
This is a 3-6 month onesie complete with a diaper cover...and yes, she's been sporting these looks for about a week.

Hmmm, look familiar:
