Trick-or-treat

Everyone seemed to pull a tricky last minuet change of costume this Halloween. I made Natalya a beautiful ice princess costume at Grandma Borup's house in September when we were living there. She was all set to wear it until she had crazy hair day at school and we did her hair with the butterflies. The funky hairdo inspired her to create a funky butterfly fairy costume all on her own. I really can't discourage creativity. She did let me paint the monarch on her face, however. Ethan's television costume lasted just around the block then he ditched that in a hurry when he realized that he couldn't see the candy well enough to make an educated decision. He wore a hat shaped like a Hershey kiss the rest of the night. Eric wanted to be a skeleton, I thought he must be "tricking" because that is way to easy. He wouldn't even let me make it because he found one at D.I. that he wanted. Curse you independent children! I love it.

I LOVE FALL !

Fall is absolutely the BEST time of the year. The trees put on their flashiest displays like girls in frilly frocks at prom time. Then the leaves fall and expose bare architectural winter branches, hopefully not just like girls at prom time.

Eric is loving Preston. He loves going outside to ride his bike, build forts and help with the yard work. Country life really suits this kid! He spends a lot less time on "boy T.V." (P.B.S. Kids) even though we have 3 stations that play it now.

Natalya

Natalya is always very co-operative for a photo opp.
She is just as sweet in person as she is in her pictures. A teacher at school told me that she was having a
really hard time remembering Natalya's name. So the teacher decided to remember it it like Na-Towel-ya and she
pantomimed drying off with a towel behind her back. Natalya politely smiled and said "you can just call me natty, if that's easier for you." The teacher was laughing. "It's Natalya's first day of school and she is consoling me!"
