Is it that time already!?

I've been thinking for weeks that it's probably time to start potty training Haleigh. Afterall, Ali was 15 months when I started training her--Haleigh's near 17 months. She's constantly trying to take off her diaper, and today when Ali went in to potty little sister followed her. Ali's able to go to the potty all alone these days, so when I heard her giving instructions to Haleigh I knew I must go check this out.
She's such a good big sister, always trying to be motherly to Haleigh; I love it! So, I'm thinking it's time for a change for Haleigh. Potty training, here we come!!!

Out for ice cream

Last weekend Josh came across a local soft serve place, so we decided to try it out. Super tasty, and the girls LOVED it. Strawberry flavor was a must-have for Ali, and she so lovingly shared with her little sister.
Haleigh had a bowl of her own, but decided she'd rather steal MY cone!
I've never seen Ali devour anything as quickly as she did her ice cream!

15 Months!

I can't believe that my sweet Haleigh Mae is already 15 months (as of the 17th of this month!)! It seems like yesterday she was born! She had her check up yesterday, and weighed in at 20.5 lbs (1.5lbs heavier than Ali at that age) and is 32 inches tall (same exact height as Ali at the same age)...tall and skinny babies I have!

She's saying lots of new words lately (doc, seemed pretty impressed by how much she was saying!), obeying pretty simple commands, practically running, and just staying BUSY! I've been contemplating starting the potty training--Ali was 15 months when she started--and also will be transitioning her into the big bed soon--Ali was 17 months when she moved out of the crib.

Time is sure flying by, and I feel so lucky that I was picked to be the mommy of my two adorable gals!!!

The anticipation is just too much for two little girls to handle!

After five months of Josh being in DC and, me and the girls being in IN, he's FINALLY coming home tomorrow. Not for good, but we'll all be back together as of tomorrow evening! After this weekend the girls and I will be heading back out to DC with him......till he gets a job back here in IN. Pray that this happens SOON!! :)

I try not to tell Ali things too far in advance, or else she just WON'T stop talking about it. I decided that I could go ahead and break the good news to her today, that she'll be seeing Daddy tomorrow. I knew she'd be excited about him coming home, but when I told her she threw her arms up, and screamed "YAY! I've REALLY missed Daddy!"

There are times when it's been hard on her to be away from Josh, and for that I feel terrible, but I just LOVE to see her get excited when he comes in town. I'm sure Josh loves that even more!

Of course, Haleigh is excited to see him too, but she just doesn't quite get it yet. Even with her being so young, I know that being away from him has been hard on her too.
I just can't wait to see their little faces light up tomorrow night when he gets in town!

Celebrating SIX years!!!!

Six years ago my Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and every year since then we've participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It's just amazing how MANY women are effected by this awful disease! I thank the Lord EVERY day that I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have to lose my Mommy!

What a beautiful SURVIVOR!!!!!

Nightgowns only, please!

Ali now has quite the STONG opinion on things lately, and most recently is her preference to wear ONLY nightgowns to bed! We have two new ones, and if they're needing to be washed she has one heck of a meltdown! So, Mommy went to Target tonight and came home with a brand new nightgown! Of course, that only leaves us with three....the other four nights a week, a certain little 'princess' is just gonna have to learn to cope! :)
