So my day start off at 1pm, half an hour after I woke up *smiles innocently*.
At around 1:20pm, I received a surprise phone call from Sin Yee. A couple of thing came into my mind.
- She needs me to help her with something or...
- She wants me to be her taxi driver for the day.
However I was wrong! Haha! That's why I say it's a surprise for me.
She sounded as if she's like a kettle that is waaaaaay over the boiling point. In short, she sounds stressed up. So I try to listen to her properly while playing WoW (hehe!). Apparently, she had a bad morning and wants to devour food to release her stress. Ahh...ok, sounds like a lunch invitation...but then she added that if I've already taken my lunch (breakfast pun tak makan lagi..=P), I can go and drink water while she makan. Hmm...I wasn't given any option but to go as a scapegoat for her to pour the boiling water. Nah I'm just joking about the scapegoat part. Anyway I'm really really glad that this invitation is given to me as we haven't had any real talk with each other for sometime already. As in we didn't update on each other's life with one another.
Well, I picked her up at around 2pm...been trying to think of a place to go to but the time isn't on our side cause most makan stalls are closing around that time. I asked her where she wants to go and she says somewhere that she haven't been to before. Instinctively I drove towards town since there's a higher chance to find a makan place (also to buy more time for me to rack my brain to find a place to fill her criteria & our stomach). In the meantime she was telling me about her rough day she had while at her final year project discussion. Unfortunately, she & her lab partner aren't working together at the same frequency. Their calculations couldn't tally and Sin Yee was trying to explain what could be the cause but partner & the lecturer couldn't quite understand what she's saying.
That's about the time I've figured out where to go makan (after she say she wants to makan laksa). One place that I've been wanting to bring her, Kah Wai & others there. I've forgotten what's the name of the road but it's somewhere near Jetty. There's just 2 stalls there, a laksa & a drinks stall. It's quite famous for it's "ai gaik" or "or gio" (no translation for English). There's shaved ice (think ice kacang or chendol), a slice of lemon (probably like 1/10 of lemon) and some jelly-like thingie. It's really unique if you've only tried chendol and ice kacang. Excellent to consume when you're thirsty during hot weather. You'll feel the burst of lemon in your mouth. The texture of the jelly is firm but soft that blends really well with the lemon flavour and ice. How I wish I've a digi cam with me, my 0.3MP on my phone just wouldn't do. As for the laksa, there's nothing much to shout about but one thing I like about this stall's laksa is that you can see chunks of fish meat amidst the soup! Overall the 2 dish are able to satisfy your stomach for a total of RM3.30, RM2 for the laksa and RM1.30 for the "or gio". Oh and Sin Yee just couldn't resist when she saw a "roti bak gua" stall nearby.

Later on we proceed to Gurney Plaza, hoping to catch a movie. We sort of decided to watch....
Resident Evil : Extinction! We look at the show time, only 2 are suitable for us, 4pm or 4:45pm. We look at the time, 4pm.
Sin Yee, "The starting trailer takes up 15 minutes right?"
Me, "Right...then we watch 4pm wan lah."
Sin Yee, "Eh! I didn't take out my student card!"
*stares at each other for awhile*
Then we both dash down the escalator towards my car, grabs her student card an run back towards the counter. Whew! I haven't run around shopping complex since when I was like...15? @.@
One of the best part was, I don't have my student card. Sin Yee's student card is attached to her matrics card or something so it looks as if there's 2 pieces of student card there. When I told the lady, "2 tickets for Resident Evil...4pm", and at that same time Sin Yee shows her card. The lady took 1 look at it and then she click there 2 student tickets! Whee! I got to watch the movie at student price without my student card! Alright, you all might think it's lame or cheap but things like these are a bonus that makes your movie experience special. The surprise doesn't end there, inside the same auditorium, I bumped into my old course mates back in TARC (Ah Ping and Ah Zhuang). What's more, they are just sitting right next to me in the cinema! Now this is like 2 rare chance in a day.
About the movie, the show gives you very little room to rest your heart. However the scary scenes are pretty much predictable, you can almost know when exactly the zombies would jump out to make you jump out from your skin. One of my favourite scene was...
*WARNING SPOILER AHEAD*
when the black guy was sitting down on the bed after popping off a zombie in a room, he look up and saw another zombie in front of him. He stand up and shoot at it, however, what he just shot was just a mirror...so I leave the rest for your imagination. =D
*END OF SPOILER*Mainly the show is catered for those who played the game or those who loves wicked cool slicing technique ala Combo-Hits-With-A-Cool-Finishing-Moves. It ends with an open ended ending. My guess is there's gonna be another episode somewhere next year.Overall IMO:-▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▫▫▫ (7 out of 10)
