Card Recipe 123

Good morning,

I'm back today with news of the next challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz - this week we have a CARD RECIPE for you. We would like to use one of something, two of something and three of something. Here's my DT inspiration ...

My clean and simple card uses 'one sentiment', 'two stamped images' and 'three adhesive gems' to make up my card recipe.

There's more inspiration over on the main blog if you want to pop over and take a peek.

Fantasy Stampers Challenge 11 - Wedding Bells

Good morning,

It's time for our next challenge over at my challenge blog -

For the next two weeks the new theme will be ...

One of my best friends is getting married this weekend, hence the choice of theme - so we would love to see your 'wedding' makes this time round. Please remember to include some stamping to be eligible for our Top 3.

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I actually made this one for my friend - it's 8x8" in size and I wanted to stay pretty neutral in colour, apart from the little touch of blue. It has a plain ivory layer at the back which I pierced all the way round for extra effect. The second layer has been popped through an embossing folder and glittered around the edge. The main image is 'Fizzy Moon Wedding Belles' and is coloured with my Promarkers and I printed the sentiment on my pc. A piece of ribbon and a few added pearls to finish off.

Why not pop over and check out what my teamies made for their inspiration.

Anything Goes at My Besties UK

Happy Monday to you all,

Well, I have had the most fantastic birthday weekend with my family - but now it's back to the real world that is work.

It's time for a new challenge over at My Besties UK and for the next two weeks we have an 'ANYTHING GOES' theme. Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

As I've had such a busy weekend, I decided to keep this one 'clean and simple'. I printed out my image (which has to be one of my favourites) - 'My Little Dimples image 934' which you can buy from Sherri's Etsy store HERE.

She is coloured with my Promarkers, but I kept to one colour tone to make the card monochromatic. The edges are also distressed with my scissors, but it doesn't show too well on my photo. I then matter her onto brown cardstock to compliment the colour scheme.

Promarker Colours Used:
Skintones - almond, blush, dusky pink (sunkissed pink cheeks)
Hair - tan, cinnamon, cocoa
Hat, Dress and Shoes - tan
Cardigan - march hare, morning mist
Jeans and Band on hat - tawny owl
Flowers on hat - sunkissed pink

Hope you can pop over to the main blog and check out what my teamies made too - there is some fantastic inspiration for you.

Across the Sea

Hi there everyone,

I'm back today with the next challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week Helen has chosen the theme of

'NAUTICAL'

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

This one is an A5 landscape and the background layer is made of kraft card which I stamped on using a compass stamp and 'Frayed Burlap' distress ink.  I added a map paper panel which has a couple of eyelets and some twine tied through it. The main image is a digital image and is coloured with my Promarkers - I added a little punched out section to highlight and a couple of metal brads. The tag is also stamped in 'Frayed Burlap' and I also added a little metal anchor charm to fit the theme.

I hope you can join us this week for what I believe will be a popular theme for men.

Fantasy Stampers Challenge 10 - Numbered Birthday

Good morning crafty friends and followers,

It's time for a new challenge over at my challenge blog -

For the next two weeks the new theme will be ...

We would love to see your projects for those special birthdays - it could be a child, an 18th or 21st, an even bigger number or even 100! What will you choose? Please take care to include some stamping to be eligible for our Top 3 winners.

Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

This one is actually made for a friend celebrating her 40th this year (I wish!) I used background papers from my stash layered onto kraft card. The image is called 'Fergus with Bouquet' from Wild Rose Studio and is coloured with my Promarkers and a little added glitter to highlight him - isn't he cute! Added embellishments include a piece of olive green ribbon, some paper flowers (inked around the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink) and some die-cut swirls. I also stamped and coloured the numbers to make the little '40' badge.

Why not pop over to the blog and check out how my teamies interpreted the theme - see you there.

G for Gorgeous Gowns

Good morning,

Well, that's another busy work week over for me and today I can enjoy my day off.

I'm back today with news of our next challenge over at the Alphabet Challenge blog and this time it was my choice of theme for the letter G. So for the next two weeks we would love to see your

'GORGEOUS GOWNS'

I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to use when I chose this theme - so here's my DT inspiration for you ...

The stamp is one of my favourites as far as dresses go and is from Kanban - I stamped in Vintage Sepia ink onto buttermilk cardstock, then stamped again three more times onto some scrap design paper leftover from the background to the card. It's not easy to see on my photo, but the bottom half of the dress is cut out and decoupaged to form three layers of ruffles.

Background papers are from my stash and embellies include some of my favourite polkadot ribbon, a stamped 'thanks' sentiment and a few card candi.

I shall look forward to checking out all your gorgeous gowns over the next couple of weeks - I hope you don't make it too hard a decision for me to choose my Top 3.

Bingo for Men

Hi there,

A quick post from me today sharing the new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week our theme is a bingo challenge - here's what the board looks like ...

TWINE
BRADS
EMBOSSING
DISTRESSING
IMAGE
SENTIMENT
DIE-CUTS
BLUE
BUTTONS

Simply choose one row or column (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) and use just those three items in your chosen row - I found this harder than it looks! Lol. Here's what I made for my DT inspiration ...

I used the right hand side vertical column - embossing, sentiment and buttons. First, my patchwork embossing folder on olive green cardstock with an added touch of 'Crushed Olive' distress ink to highlight. Then a sentiment printed on my pc, finished with three little co-ordinating buttons.

Why not pop over to the main blog and see which elements my teamies chose.

Colour it Purple!

Good morning and Happy Bank Holiday Monday,

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend and the gorgeous weather on Saturday.

I'm back today with news of our next theme over at the

But first I would just like to say 'thank you' to everyone who joined us on our new look blog last time with a little bit of Hollywood Glamour - we had some fab entries and you can see the winners over at the main blog.

So, onto our new challenge - for the next two weeks our new theme will be

'THE COLOUR PURPLE'

Well, needless to say those who know me will know that I lurve purple! So here's what I made for my DT inspiration  ...

I decided to make some Tag Art this time and used my 'go to' shaped base tag which is covered with design papers from my stash - I find this is a good way to use up some of those little scraps we all have lying around.

I used Sherri's gorgeous image 313 for my focal point and coloured her with my Promarkers - you can find this adorable little girl at Sherri's on-line store HERE.

I also added a little sentiment which was printed on my pc, together with lots of purple die-cut flowers, some ribbon and fibres, and the lettering 'Dream' - I believe everyone should have a dream! Lol.

I hope you can come and join us for our new challenge - why not pop over to the main blog and check out what my teamies made for their DT projects, there is some fab inspiration and another special priced digi image available for your projects - just click HERE.

See you there,
Hugz, Jan xx
