Drakes travel basketball team

Drakes travel team had their last games of the season.  We were missing three kids for the last games and ended up losing to the number one team by two points.  They were fianlly starting to get it all figured out.  Jay was the coach so I didn't get to much of his games because of the COVID restricitions they had on it this year and with Elly playing basketball up there sometiems at the same times. Their season was alittle rough going 1-9 but they did improve and will come back next year.

Drakes team was Brodie Bernard, him, we picked up Nate Yost for the last game, Garett, Cam Huntionton and Dreyden Omen plus the three boys wewere missing were Trey Neilson, Alex Martines and Jaxton Smith.

Tyler State Wrestling

State wrestling this year was in Richfield but only a one day tournament so that changes how they can do a bracket.  The boys are only allowed to wrestle five times a day so now if you lose you don't have the chance to wrestle back to 3-4 or 5-6.  It really stunk and hurt us in the end. Tyler won his first match so that put him into the quarterfinals.  He was wrestling his kid good when the ref decided Tyler was pinned.  It was a bad call and everyone thought so too.  We all thought he was calling them out of bounds so we were surprised nd ticked when he raised the kids hand.  So that put him into consolation side of the bracket.  He won his next match and needed to win the next match to place.  He had the kid pinned and the ref didn't call it so they kept wrestling and Tyler ended up losing the match.  It was frustrating to see him lose because of refs and not himself.  So he didn't end up placing at state this year.  He had a great season and worked so hard.  He went to pretty much every morning practice.  We were hoping the season would have ended like he wanted it to.  He improved a lot this year and it was fun to see it all coming together.  There is next year and he will come back stronger!

S

We love this team and these caoches.  They push each other to be better and work harder.  These are a great group of young men led by great men that love these boys and want them to be successful.  They had a great season and ended up taking third behind Morgan and Juab winning it.  Its hard to beat these big schools but our boys gave it a great try.  This was the highest our team has ever placed.  We had three kids take state which has never happened in one year and nine others that place, also a first for us.  So proud of these boys!

Drakes jr jazz 1st place

Drakes Jr. Jazz team went undefeated this year and won the Championship.  I didn't make it to all his games because I was with one of the other kids but the games I got to he played really good.  Drake is very competitive and wants to win.  He loved basketball this year.  Some days we played four games in one day but never complained about it or acted tired.

The fourth graders on his team were him, Dreyden Oman, Jaxton Smith and Brodie Bernard.

Jay was his coach this year

This was all of us that made it there to watch his semi final game and the Championship game.

Dreyden is one of Drakes best friends.  They are such good friends and have so much fun together.

Dreyden is a twin and we always tease Drake about liking his sister, Payten, so we thought it was funny to stick her in a pictures between these boys.  Cute little kids!

Tyler 5th at Divisionals

Tyler had divisionals at South Summit this year.  The bad thing was they were in two gyms so you couldn't watch your whole team and they would only let you have two people for each wrestler so we had to figure out what to do with the little boys for two days.  The only nice thing was we could really just sit and watch the boys wrestle all day without having to run kids to the bathroom.  I live streamed all Tyler's matches so I didn't get any pictures.  Luckily there was a mom there taking pictures and got a few of Tyler for me.  Tyler wrestled really good this weekend.  The two kids he lost two were pretty good.  I really think and so does he that he could beat them both if he got to wrestle them again.  He did lots of good things this weekend.  It was fun to watch him to so well.  He ended up taking 5th.

The team took first by along way.  The team wrestled so good.  We had 25 kid qualify for state.  We have never done that as a team.  They have a good chance of placing pretty high when we go to state in two weeks.

Drake district spelling bee

Drake won his class spelling Bee so he got to go to the district one.  He forgot about it until  about ten minutes before it started so we were running to get him there. He spelled his first word right which was "schedule."  The second round of words were mostly words we have never heard of before.  They started that round with 20 kids and ended that round with 6.  The next four rounds no one could spell a word right  The fifth round the last kid spelled his word right and then got the next word right so they had the first place kid but still had to get the second and third place kids.  After two more rounds of the kids not knowing how to spell any words they went back to third grade words to finally get the second and third place kids.  It was kind of a joke.  Those kids got words all the kids that got out on could have spelled..

Tyler at Layton wrestling tournament

Some of the wrestling tournaments this year have not allowed parents to come so we get no pictures and really only get to see how things are going on track wrestling.  So this tournament they went to in Layton this is what we saw.  Tyler ended up taking fifth!  Pretty exciting and awesome for him.  I wish we could have been there to watch him.

We did get a team picture of all the kids that place at it after it was over so that was nice too.

Tyler vs. North Sanpete

This dual was probably one of the most fun ones we had this year just because of how bad we beat them.  We wrestled North Sanpete at their place.  Everyone of our kids including JV won their match.  I think all but three kids that day pinned their boy.  I don't think we have ever done that to a team.  Tyler pinned his kid.

It was awesome to see the scoreboard look like that for us!

Family ski day and Tattons first time!

We were all so excited when Dad finally said he would go skiing with us.  So I bought tickets for all of us to Eagle Point before he could change his mind.  Tyler and Mason skied together all day.  They came past us once I think.  Elly and Drake skied together all day.  They started the day with us and then would be gone for a bit somewhere else and then ski with us for a minute to check out how Tatton was doing and then they would be gone again.  Jay and Kenyan skied together all day and were on the same runs as Tatton and me so we saw them a lot.

I tried to get pictures of the kids as they came past so I would have some.

Tattons first run down the hill was kind of rough.  If I told him to turn he would just sit down and stop.  Then when I would get him up and tell him to go he would tell me "Stuck mom, really stuck." Even though he didn't even try to move his feet to get going.  He cried a couple times because I was frustrated with him not listening to me. So the first run was rough.  Once we finally got on the lift he was happy and loving it again.  I think the lift was the highlight for him.

Each run he got better and better and started liking it more.

Elly and Drake came by one time and so I had them ski in front of him to show him how to do it so I could stay behind and help him when he needed it.  He did so good when he could just follow them.  but they only lasted half the run before they wanted to leave.

Tatton feel asleep on the lift twice.  The first time I just picked him up and carried him off and then he woke up and skied down the hill.  The second time we decided to go to the car and get lunch.  Jay and the other kids were there eating, other than Tyler and Mason.  So we grabbed something to eat and then headed back to ski.  I grabbed a picture of us before Elly and Drake took off.  This time I grab a harness for Tatton.  He did really good with that on.  I could tug on one side and tell him to turn that way and he would and keep him from going to fast like he wanted to do.

By the end of the day when it was time to go we finally saw Tyler and Mason again.  Our phones were all dead by then so we had to have some random person walking by take a picture of us and send it to us so we could have one with all of us.  We had the best day!  We heard lots of funny stories of all their crashes and major air all the way off the mountain.

We never eat in Beaver after because the kids are all passed out by the time we get there so we go on to Richfield and eat Costa Vida with a quick stop first to grab KFC and tacos for the younger kids.

Then back on the road for home and the kids pass out again.  The kids kept saying how much fun they had.  It was fun to get to go ski together as a family and all of us get to go.
