Hog Hunting!

Last year for Barry's Christmas present I purchased in a Texas hog hunt.  Before we even left we thought it would be fun to bring the boys down along with other family members.  Now it's a year later and we have our boys along with Jerry and Matt.  Good times!

Unpacking...

This is not a peace sign but a sign for dos - the ranch is called Dos Plumas Ranch.

Sitting in a blind waiting for the sun to come up.  The first morning we sat with the boys, Barry/Cody and Mom/Cameron.

FINALLY the sun starts to come up.  It seemed like we were sitting out there for hours waiting for it to rise.

I see pigs.  I had my bow and Cameron had the gun so I let him take a shot.  He missed.  Oh and he was so frustrated and bugged about it too.  Just because there is a feeder does not mean it will be easy.  They are moving around so much that you have to be ready to take the right shot.

Matt was the only one that had success that first morning.

The evening hunt was much more successful for the rest of us.  Barry and I both got a pig with our bows and Cameron and Cody with their guns.  Jerry shot one with his bow too.  We followed a blood trail for a long time but then it stopped.  We never recovered his pig.

The boys learned how to skin and clean a pig.

During out stay a hog trapper came to sell Dos Plumas some more hogs.  It was fun seeing them jump out of the trailer.  They even came with one flying hog.

Barry the movie star.  Matt found these sunglasses while hunting.

Cody hit a pig that morning but never recovered it.  His hunt was done.  I think h was tired.

Cameron also was a bit tired.

That evening Cameron was the only one to get a second pig.  Matt got one during the morning hunt.

This is Barry's second pig.  Seriously, it is.  I will have to get him to type out the story and I will cut and copy.  He is the only one that can really do it justice.

Packed up and headed to Abilene for the night.

THE END!

Christmas 2011

How is it that it was Christmas again?! I really dislike how time just flies by.

This is a little sad:
Sierra and Creed decorated the tree by themselves because no one else really wanted to.  Merry Christmas?

Christmas Eve Dinner

Ham, turkey, potatoes, stuffing and asparagus.

We even got out the good china.

Everyone opened one present on Christmas Eve - Thanks Bubba for our presents.

CHRISTMAS MORNING
The grinch came and knocked over our tree and took all of our presents that were under the tree.

He did leave the Santa gift thank goodness!

I think they liked it. :)

PRESENTS ARE FOUND
The presents were found in the van.  The kids opened presents as we drove to Grandma & Grandpa Johnson.  We had to leave early so we would make it to their church.

Our kids draw names and this year Sierra got Cameron.  She did a little pay back for when he got her the grandma underwear for her birthday.

Quick stop for a photo...

Grandma & Grandpa Johnson's house for Christmas Dinner
After dinner and presents we headed over to Dorthy and Terry's to visit them and Aunt Glaudies.

Cameron is always in style. I don't think Grandma was very amused.

Jerry seeing if his apple peeler could peel that giant orange.

We hope everyone's Christmas was full of the Spirit of Christ and loved ones.
