Just the two of us!

After about a year of saying we needed to get
family pictures done, we finally did. We haven't
had any professional pictures done since our
engagement shoot 3 1/2 years ago! We had Emily
Clark do our pictures. she is one of my sweet clients
and I consider her a good friend. She did an amazing
job, and I'm so glad we have these pictures to remind
us of our life today.

I love Jason so much! We have so much fun
together, just the two of us! He is not only
my husband but my best friend. He fits into
my family so perfectly. I couldn't ask for anything
more! Thanks Em, we love them!

Remember when...

Remember when we actually went Trick
or Treating. Trunk or treat? What was that?
Me and my sister had one of these awesome
Halloween flashlights... Did you?
Remember when McDonald's did themed
Happy Meals for every holiday? They even
gave them to you in a special little bag or box.
Eating out, even at fast food places was not an
every day thing. Remember?

I would wear these fangs around for days, although
made of wax we sure did look cool! Did you do that?

Garbage Candy. The container was a garbage can
and they had candies in them shaped like an old
sneaker or fish scales. Weird I know, but I still
remember them!

McDonalds upgraded from a plastic Halloween
bag to these Halloween pails. You had one right?

Back when we use to go Trick or Treating people
would not just throw a pixie stick in our Halloween
pail but they had special treats in these cute little
bags waiting for each ghost and goblin. Remember?

And last but certainly not least, did you ever
watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown?
Best Halloween movie of all time! In fact I watched
it the other day! Still just as good as ever!
Every year Linus would right a letter to the Great
Pumpkin.
Then on Halloween night, he would wait
for his big arrival. ( He never came) but
that ol "blockhead" would continue to do it
every year.

When Charlie Brown and the gang went
Trick or Treating they each got candy, gum,
and popcorn balls. Charlie Brown always got a
rock. Remember?

I know i'm far from old but things have
changed so much! I sometimes miss the good
ol' days when the biggest decision of your life
was rather to be a witch or a fairy for Halloween.
I love reminiscing about old times. Even though
it was just a few short years ago, things are oh
so different! Do you remember some of these
memories or do you remember some memories of
your own that you use to do for Halloween? If so
leave a comment I'd love to read them!
Happy Halloween everyone!

Estes Park 2010

For Jason's Birthday this year I surprised him
with a trip to Estes Park Colorado. We went there on our
honeymoon and loved it, so we decided to go back
in the fall this year rather than summer. We had so much
fun, it was such a RELAXING vacation. I can honestly say
this is one of our favorite vacations to date! We started off
planning to go over Rocky Mountain National Park but to
our surprise the road was closed due to 3 foot drifts of SNOW
in the road, so we had to go through Denver instead (added
hour and a half.) There was even snow right out of Steamboat!
I was singing Over the river and through the woods to Estes Park
we go! haha I have to admit I kinda liked seeing all that snow,
knowing I wouldn't come home to it! It felt so Christmasy! In
Estes park it was an average of about 40-55 degrees. It was chilly
but so much fun! I will warn you there are tonz of pictures, I use
this as my journal So I wanted as many pics as I could to remember
this fun trip.
Snow, snow and more snow!

The WHITE mountain in the distance that you
can hardly see was out original path to Estes
Park. :) oops I guess in my planning I should
have checked the weather forecast!

This was the night we got there it was COLD...
about 40 degrees!

Our first stop the next day was of course the
Christmas shops, They sell Christmas decor and
play Christmas music year round! We loved it,
as you made your purchase they would hand you
your bag and say in a cheerful voice MERRY
CHRISTMAS! We actually went there 3 times in
3 days.

They had candied and caramel apples everywhere.
They were So yummy!
Jason and Santa, I've turned him into a Christmas
fanatic just like me! haha

There was the cutest old fashioned candy shop,
right on main street. I was in Heaven!

Cherry Tree was down the mountain on your
way to Fort Collins. It had all homemade ciders,
syrups, candies, Jams, and pies. We sampled
everything from cherry cider to peach to grape,
they were super good!

This is the Silver Moon Inn where we stayed. It is
tucked right off main street in the trees. There is a
river that runs right outside of your room.

Me and Jason at the Spruce House.

They had chairs and swings that lined the river
outside of our hotel. We sat there for a couple of
afternoons and just drank hot cocoa and enjoyed,
the brisk fall air! It was so quite and relaxing.
We had to laugh because we didn't get 1 picture
of us together besides this one that we took our
selves. As we were out side I looked at the people
reading books, napping, and knitting along the
riverside and said, who should we ask to take our
picture the napper or the knitter. haha
We went to the movie theater there it was so old
fashioned. But one thing they had over our theater
is they sold Dippen Dots! Despite the cold weather
we couldn't resist.

All in all it was an amazing trip. We relaxed the
entire vacation. When it was time to go home, we
were sad to leave knowing it would be a few more
years before we would return. If you haven't gone
to Estes Park GO! It is a vacation you won't forget!

Back to School...

School has officially begun! Although I don't have
kids going back to school my brothers and my mom
went back. Ryan is in 6th grade, Matt is a Senior and
my mom is a secretary at Davis Elementary. I can't
believe my "little" brothers aren't little anymore!
Every year for back to school my mom would make us
back to school cookies and little goody bags with gum,
tick tacks, and mints, then when we got home from school
she would always have a plate of warm back to school cookies!
So this year since my mom works at a school now I thought
that she deserved some back to school treats along with my
cute brothers. I made these adorable back to school "apple"
Cupcakes, aren't they just to DIE for!
Up close

It was so nice knowing that no matter what kind of day we had
at school we always had a loving family to come home
to! This means more to me now than ever! Thanks Mom and
Dad for such a great childhood!I have SO many fond memories
that I will always cherish! Happy Back to School Everyone!
