13DEC2006 Departure KE642 to Seoul Incheon Airport..
6hrs flight journey!! scary take off.. heavy rain! >.<" Dinner onboard Bibimbap meal with ice cream!
14DEC2006 Arrival Incheon!
First destination! Experiencing Kimchi Making..
Lunch = Bibimbap.. I just ate onboard plane >.<".. and Shabu-shabu!
Gimpo Domestic Airport for departure to Jeju Island.. KE1231.. Another scary take-off and very "nice" bumpy ride -.-".. Normally plane move off in a straight path along the runway.. somehow the plane move off in zig-zag kinda manner.. >.<" and due to the direction of flight against the air flow.. so it's very common to have turbulance! so i've a nice time going "up's and down's".. "shaking left and right".. but miracle that i didn't have motion sickness?! haha..
Jeju island is famous for 3 sights.. Rocks.. Women.. Strong wind!! so I've seen lots of "rocks" during the 2days stay at Jeju.. >.<"
Mysterious Road.. just a stretch of road with eyes pranking surrounding.. it look like it's going up slope.. but somehow equipments showed that it's a down slope road.. vehicles will move up slope without engine on.. tried running along that stretch of road.. and indeed.. going up slope was easier than going down slope.. proving the mystery! =X too free lah..
Dragon Head Stone..
Dinner = Korean Style Steamboat
Cheju Underground Shopping Mall.. Bought a pair of boots there.. hmmz.. on thinking.. it's kinda ex?! haha..
Accomodation for the night = Cheju Crown Plaza
15DEC2006
Westernized breakfast at hotel
Mt. Halla - tallest mountain on Jeju..
Seogwipo - "All-In" Filming Site
Songsan Sunrise Peak
Had lunch near Seongup Folk Village.. it was claimed that there's 3 No's in this village.. No main door.. No thieves.. No Beggers.. So peaceful eh!? had a short visit around the village after meal.. on Jeju island.. they've their own dialect.. so they introduce us the way they call miss, mister, mrs and mr.. mister = Tong bali.. miss = Pi bali.. mrs = Neng bali.. mr = Wang bali.. sound kinda stupid?! haha.. their main gate have these 3 sticks thingy.. the number of sticks removed indicate certain meaning.. walls made from volcanic rocks hold together by....... horse dung!! Ewww... outdoor toilet! >.<" within a pig sty.. yucks!! it means after doing the "business".. the pigs will go eat!! and those pigs are the source of food.. aiyer!!!
Along the way.. stop by Tangerine orchard to have a try on harvesting fruits.. supposedly each of us can only harvest 2 tangerines.. somehow.. by judging from the pics that doesn't seem so.. =X
Oedolgae.. another see "rocks" site.. haha.. there's a myth of saying this wife waiting for her husband to return from fishing till she turn into rock.. that's why the rock have human face look alike features facing the sea..
Jusangjeolli Cliff.. Still "rocks" seeing site.. haha!! natural occurance cliff formed by rods that's hexagonal in shape..
Dinner not provided for the night.. free and easy night activity! we explored the nearby shopping streets.. due the the language barrier.. literally "chix and duck" talking.. and most of the shops somehow catered for BBQ or steamboat.. I know it's winter.. but that doesn't mean every shop gotta turn into BBQ-steamboat shop right!? >.<" ended up gotta eat Maggie mee!! so poor thing!! =X
Accomodation for the night = Cheju Crown Plaza
16DEC2006
Departure Jeju Airport
Arrival CheongJu Airport.. This airport seems old.. but the toilet so nicely decorated?! haha.. took quite alot of photos of that toilet =X LOLX!! somehow the toilets in korea are well cleaned.. and confirm have toilet paper!! =X lolx.. some even have those high-tech automated kind.. you know those press button then will help u wash ur butt!? =X lolx!!
Strawberries & Tomatoes Orchard.. kekez.. since it's not the strawberries season.. so we can't harvest strawberries.. but that doesn't mean there ain't some ripe strawberries.. =X since when will SG-reans be that obedient?! NEVER!! haha.. so ended up we still plucked few strawberries for our own pleasure.. =X and it's so darn sweet!! even better than those Aussie's strawberries!! As for the tomatoes.. we didn't harvest them ourselves too.. haha.. becoz those left we those lousy very ripe kinda.. so we go fill our box with those the workers harvested.. =X SECRETLY.. lolx..
DongDaeMun District - Dotta Shopping Mall.. ehz.. something like the "Far EAst"?! kekez.. near gathering time.. it started Snowing!! YeaH!! Haha!! not that I never seen snowing before.. but i'll never get tired of seeing snowing! kekez.. such a nice view..
Accomodation for the night = Novotel
17DEC2006
Nami Island - Winter Sonata Filming site
This place is really beautiful!! luckily it snowed the day before we visit.. making it even more scenic.. and I noticed they photoshop the Winter Sonata pics to making "beh Yong Jun" holding ice cream while hugging the girl.. fainted.. -.-"
Chuncheon Myong Dong Shopping - Winter Sonata Filming site
Just s short stretch of shopping stores..
Supposedly 3hrs journey to Muju!! due to the snow aftermath.. the travelling time increase to 4hrs~! >.<"
Accomodation for the night = Muju Resort Tirol Hotel
This hotel resort is seriously damn nice.. they import wood from oversea to build the hotel.. so the room is filled with smell of the timber.. kinda red wine-ish?! and the room setting is very danish.. the best 5* hotel for the trip.. FYI all the hotels we stayed in are 5*.. 3* and below refer to the motel and kinda.. little 4* mostly 5* hotels in korea!!
18DEC2006
After a night of good sleep!! Time to do some exercise!! Skiing!! Kekez.. so fun!! The ski equipments are kinda heavy eh?! and having a long time trying to equip them and walking around.. Great time falling.. gettting up.. and banging onto people!! =X Hmmz.. i spent about 5mins to get up with the ski attached.. to save time i removed the ski and spend about 10mins to climb up slope.. 5mins to get my boots attached back to the ski.. 5secs to "ski".. some times "roll" down.. haha!! >.<"
Accomodation for the night = Muju Resort Tirol Hotel
19DEC2006
Apgujeong Street = High end shopping district.. >.<" since it's high end goods.. there's nothing much to say.. just window shopping!! and for the first time the whole group of tour members assemble at gathering place on time.. or should say earlier than stated time..
About 30mins ride to Lotte World.. had dinner before entering the themepark.. grr.. this dinner seriously sux.. buffer at canteen kinda place.. obviously for those worker to dine in place.. -.-"
Muahaha.. Adults take Carousel (Merry-Go-Round) too!! haha.. =X
first time staying till the themepark closing.. there's a ending laser show followed by indoor fireworks.. nice and cool display.. but I wondered.. they're not afraid of shooting their roof down?! =X
Accomodation for the night = Renaissance Hotel
20DEC2006
last day of the tour package! had our breakfast at hotel cafe.. set off to "BLue house".. the place where said to be holding meeting with those oversea big shots visiting korea.. bought handphone accessories there.. it's really quality = cost.. comparing those street stores and those boutiques.. the quality obviously differ lots.. so whoever going korea gotta believe that they don't chop tourists.. they really charge accordingly to their goods quality.. visited the Amethyst Factory.. bought a clover design pendent.. bargain from USD200 to USD100.. pro?! haha.. and we still influence other tour group member to bargain for that price too if they wanna buy the same pendent design.. lolx!! poor store.. next.. Ginseng Showroom.. bought this set of 6 bottles of Ginseng in powder form.. USD350++ i think.. so clever of them to charge in USD.. luckily USD rate now dropped quite alot.. Bought my Ginseng Mud Masks.. Honey Youzi Tea.. Kimchi.. at their Local Provision Shop.. all things in!! NOte! All stuff paid by Aunt.. =X so that's all for the last day itinery! last destinatiion.. Incheon Airport! kekez.. luckily our luggages never overweight =X Flight KE641 sent us back home!! haikx! no more cold cold weather.. =X

Woohooo!! my grades are out.. so daring me to check it out the first thing early in the morning today.. lolx.. the possibility for spoiling my mood for sentosa is 50-50.. either good or bad grades.. lolx!! well.. it boost my mood then.. haha!! an average of H1!! yeah yeah!! but low average H1 -.-!! haha!! so if the people there ask "how high did I score for my H1?" i'll faint for them to see.. LOLX.. sadly.. i scored the worst for "Functional Genomics"!! that's really sad case.. something which i studied b4 in NYP.. somehow that turn out the lowest grade.. followed by "DEv. Genomics".. which is of no grumble.. but that turned out to be quite a surprise.. i expected a H2B or H3 for that.. becoz i totally dun understand that module?! -.-!! haha.. next will be "Proteomics" and highest "Hormone & Neuro".. haha.. i'm still better with those pathways memorizing work eh?! but of coz after exams i throw everything out of my head though.. =X okiez.. i'm ending here to prepare for my "Sentosa" trip!! yeah yeah!! byebye!!

Cabin crew for this trip is alittle disappointing.. haha.. old and not pretty!! except for 1.. there's even 1 that's hunchback!! >.<" Onboard meals ain't that nice.. kinda yucky actually.. anyway time passed kinda quickly onboard.. learning japanese.. also tried writing a mail for Yoshi!! I'm gonna e-mail with him to improve my japanese.. Drank few cups of alcoholic drinks onboard.. first.. "Singapore Sling".. Then 2 cups of Red Wine followed by 1 cup of White Wine.. so that made my night passed with a good sleep till morning..
Went "Vivo City" today.. hmmz.. nothing much?! main aim was the GAP.. but kinda disappointing.. nothing nice and so ex?! -.-" heehee.. got a cup of BOOST - Mango Magic drink.. haha.. a drink originated from Aussie.. just few cents cheaper here.. haha.. anyway.. there're other Aussie found shops here.. AHhh!!! I'm going home tomorrow!! ~>.<~ haha..
Anyway.. some updates for the past few days..
On sunday.. we went "St Kilda beach" early in the morning.. there's "Sunday Art & Craft Market" located along "Acland Street".. stuff there are darn ex! and kinda unbelievable to be hand-made goods =X lolx!! saw this bag.. nice.. but selling at crazy price.. AUD$55 for that small sling bag.. -.-" There's a mini theme park here called.. "Luna Park".. but!! it's was booked for some private event!! sad case!! can't go in and hop on some rides.. -.-" anyway.. "St Kilda Beach" isn't that nice.. so we moved on to "Brighton Beach"..
If u guys did watch those TV show introducing must-visit places in Melbourne.. "Brighton Beach" is one of the must-visit beaches.. Well.. After going there.. i felt that Tv reallly have the enhancing effect.. actually it isn't that great afterall eh!? haha.. "Brighton Beach" is known for the different themes of the bath house.. although it's really colourful.. but i don't see any theme?! more like design.. and it's locked!! can't see what's inside.. had a short sun-tanning session.. haha.. and that short 15mins can be equivalent to 45mins tanning in SG?! did i mentioned that i applied sun block lotion before tanning session?! hahaha!! who on earth wanna get tanned and apply sun block lotion?! i guess that's only me.. =X but i still get kinda tanned!! grrr!! i didn't want that much tanning!! haha.. over-tanned.. =X

Great OCean Road
YeaH Yeah!! "Great Ocean Road" Trip success!! Nice and enjoyable trip.. Start off from "Melbourne City" at 6.30am!! Return back to City at 5.30pm.. Wahaha!! very long journey eh!? Uncle Richard's work is tough.. about 11hrs of work!! for about AUD$400 salary for the day.. each of us paid AUD$79 for the trip..
Route taken from Melbourne City (Gratten Street) -> via West Gate Bridge to Geelong -> Drove along Princes Freeway (a.k.a M1 route) to Anglesea -> Lorne -> Apollo Bay (bypassing) 12 Apostles -> Loch Ard and Blow Hole -> Port Campbell (Late lunch) -> Drove along A1 freeway during return journey passing by small town like Colac (short stopover) -> Winchelsea (bypassing) -> Geelong (bypassing) -> Melbourne City (Gratten Street)
"Melbourne", "Geelong" and "Lorne" considered the largest town in Victoria, Australia.. with "Melbourne" conferred as the City of the state..
Setting off from "Melbourne City" via Princes Freeway to "Geelong".. about 1hr ride!? to our 1st destination.. visited this de-commissioned port.. took several pictures.. was told that the name of locations that doesn't sound english.. originate from Aborigines word.. that means.. Geelong is a Aboriginal word.. and that was true becoz it was once populated by the Aboriginals..

After a short stopover at "Geelong".. we continued our journey to "Great Ocean Road"!! i was kindA surprised that Uncle Richard knew that i like "Mini cooper"!! i don't know him well.. definately i'll never tell him this neither he have my blog url.. and he can also guessed that Sughim is a clever student in school! Scary huh?! -.-" it's was actually kinda easy to drive to our targeted destination.. along the way there're lots of signboards.. just follow the signs and it's basically straight road most of the time!! except for the "Great Ocean Road" ridges.. "Shipwreck Coast" is located along "Great Ocean Road".. where ships crash frequently around that area.. our 1st stop at the "Anglesea".. nice beach! with artificially added fine sand.. in fact most beaches here were composed of artifically added sand except for "Gold Coast".. haha! the "Great Ocean Road" was actually a result of Volcanic eruption whereby the molten lava flow down and solidify upon contact with the cold sea water.. over time with more and more lava piling up and erosion.. there's where the ridges.. extended rocky seabed with a short area of flat platform.. and apostles arise.. Now there's no more volcanic activity but there's still minor tremor! maybe one day while sightseeing along "Great Ocean Road".. there is a possibility of feeling the tremors if u're lucky eh?! Along the way to "Anglesea", we did a short detour to visit the "Split Point Lighthouse".. took alittle closer look at it.. it's still in function of coz.. about 125years of history! moving on.. looking at the sea from far.. nice Turquois colour with different tone of bluish with distant from the shore.. the deepest point of the sea will be of a Royal blue shade.. At "Anglesea", there's a Memorial Arch built to commemorate the workers for building the driving road along the edge of the land.. forming the "Great Ocean Road".. the project started around 1917 and completed around 1933! "Anglesea" is located at the south beach.. and is a common surfing zone for surfers.. A short stopover here for photo-taking session with the arch as a memorial for coming to "Great Ocean Road" and also a trip to the coast.. nice cooling sea breeze! and cold sea water.. too bad that i wore shoes instead of slippers.. that stopped me from going into the water.. but i still can feel with my hands though.. very cool water and i picked 2 stones from the sandy beach =x haha.. as a memorial?! the sand there were that fine till having some trouble walking through.. ended up quite alot of it went into my shoes!! ahhh!! haha.. and that short stopover resulted in the van dirtied with sand from our shoes.. =X
Wordings on the sand as follows.. "Jastina & Friends is here on 01DEC'06"..
Due to the curvy road condition.. i gotta change my seat to the front.. if not i'll definately puke!! =X but i got a better view of the whole trip too!! haHa.. popped motion sickness pill too.. but the road is really that narrow and swirling till i think the pill doesn't really help.. signboards stated to drive at about average of 40km/hr.. somehow i look at the speedometer it's 70km/hr.. -.-" and by closing my eyes making it worst!! for the whole ride i gotta open my eyes wide and look at the sceneries.. but this makes my $ worth paying for this trip.. =X and also i get to see alot of sceneries which normally can't be seen.. wind down the window.. the salty sea smell is so strong! but no choice.. i need constant fresh air to help ease my motion sickness.. the path along "Great Ocean Road" linked to the western part of Aussie.. so it's possible to drive along and reach "Perth"!! Gum trees found in abundance along the sides of the roads.. i wonder are there any wild koalas!? since the Eucalypus leaves are their source of food.. and those trees only grow in Aussie! Koalas in oversea zoo eat imported "veggies".. so high priority =X
Reaching "Lorne"! the largest town along "Great OCean Road".. very famous and over-populated town during the summer vacation.. now it's kinda quiet becoz vacation haven't start yet.. had a short break of about 20mins for breakfast and toilet break.. alittle photo taking session too.. dropped by "Andrew's Chicken Joint".. Yasmin and Bernice grabbed themselves a drink and off we go towards the coast for photo taking.. with the nice sunny weather and the clear blue sea.. sparkling sea surface.. the scene was what i thought it can only be seen on tv.. but now i've finally get to view that actual scene with my own eyes..

The tormenting journey starts from "Lorne".. while heading towards "12 Apostles".. So many curves!! highly curved and angled road.. like taking roller coaster?! just that it's at a slower speed.. OMG!! really fainting!! Along the way.. there're scenes of owner playing with their dogs along the coast line.. old couples holding hands strolling along coast.. so tv drama eh?! but that's what really happened here.. and Bernice's creativity of taking pic through the car side mirror.. nice pic Bernice!
amazingly beautififul sceneries at "Great Ocean Road" but also a very torturing price to pay back.. the horrible road turnings!! i'm sort of enjoying the nice.. sunny weather.. and calm sea.. with motion sickness in me wrecking havoc..

A short stopover at "Cape Patton" for a breather.. At here.. there's no artifically added sand.. the big boulders were seem to be kinda rough.. this is the true view of the nature work.. Clear sea.. seeing through the to bed.. the smudged horizon formed by the sea and sky.. and few patches of white clouds.. just contrast so nicely.. heavenly feel!! Now i finally understand that natural geographics are actually something really very incredible.. amazing how the way nature shaped all these wonders.. the bad thing about summer is that you'll get fly attack where ever when ever you go.. those flies here are really slow and fat!! u can actually smack them easily.. and they're that stupid in that they fly and crash right onto ur face!! lucky i wore my shades.. can u image them crashing right into my eyes!? -.-!! grrr!!

Moving on.. along the way.. there's lots of Caravan!? it's kinda common here eh?! drive along the long stretch of road with no worries about accomodation! just sleep in the car.. =X there're lots of different types.. foldable.. or fixed..
Saw Lamahs along the way.. resting under the shades.. heard that they're kinda fierce animal..
Bypassing "Apollo Bay".. just a small town.. had another very short stopover for a breather before commencing another 1.5hrs journey to "12 Apostles".. The 1.5hrs journey was more inland.. bypassing "Otway National PArk".. bascially just large area of forest! on both side of the road.. -.-!! along the way there's farms with sight of their cow herds.. horses.. sheeps.. grazing freely on the field.. or resting under the shades.. very peaceful feeling.. and becoz we're travelling more inland.. the road condition isn't that curvy..

I'm seating in the front passenger seat.. so i got an addition task of entertaining the driver.. so that he will not fall asleep during the driving!! Along the way while the rest behind sleeping.. he got my attention to several sights and explained what're they and stuff.. also got to know this "Cruise Driving" control thingy.. driver doesn't have to constant step on accelerator.. just set the car to auto mobile.. cool eh?! like the plane auto pilot function.. got to know "Ship wreck coast" lie along "Great Ocean Road".. it was given that name becoz lots of cruisers crashed around that area..
Finally we've reached "12 Apostles" site!! ermz.. seriously the flies here loves attacking whatever in range.. this time the attack was much more worst! can't stand it! kept banging onto face or land on where ever possible on u.. had short toilet break before we continued.. there's a tunnel leading towards the coast.. right now there's only 8 left.. 1 had just collapse not long ago.. with the exceptionally great weather.. the sight here was totally unbelievable!! heavenly! standing on the barricaded viewing platform to view the scenic.. didn't get to go down to the coast.. there's a great height from the bottom to the top.. so gotta climb lots of steps down and up again.. time restriction can't go down.. else i don't mind climbing though..

Just travel slightly further down the road.. ate TimTam along the way.. =X we reached the viewing site for "Loch Ard Gorge".. there's also "Blow hole" and "Thunder cave".. Still classified under the "12 Apostles" site but with another point of view of the natural geographic structures.. "Loch Ard Gorge" was just site where this large tall masted ship had a very fatal crash with only 2 survivors at 1878.. so they name it after that ship.. and bodies from the ships was found near the "Blow hole".. When there's strong wind.. water squeeze through thin channel and emitted into a wide area at high pressure so it's possible that water blast out from the "Blow hole".. it's quite a big and deep "Blow hole" eh?! i wonder how strong can the wind get.. There's a phenomenon of "Eerie purple light" emitting from the "Blow hole".. with the knowledge of science.. it's fluorescence from phosphorous composition of the rock.. Don't ask what's the yellowish swirl thingy.. i've no idea..
"Eerie Purple Light"
Top view of the "Blow Hole" opening..
Due to the time factor.. There're many other scenic sites like Thunder caves and Loch Ard, which we're unable to visit.. too far away.. these different structures arised due to the different mineral composition of the rocks, angle exposed to and strength of eroding agents.. to conclude they're just nice art pieces completed by nature..
AFter the whole sightseeing trip.. we proceed on to "Port Campbell" for late lunch before we set off for home.. although i've packed food.. but somehow just not hungry.. the motion sickness uncomfortable feeling was still in me.. and the flies just attack u non-stop! grr.. due to the fact that i'm in Science course.. i'malittle picky with the hygiene too.. the flies around totally turns my appetite off.. and with them circulating and landing on ur food doesn't seems to be good.. so i went walking along the coast line taking photos and pick up few more stones =X haha.. looking at the stone walls.. sea.. cove and bay.. arch.. apostles.. all these remains me of my geography lesson.. didn't realise they're actually that beautiful from the pictures in the textbook till u really get to see them real with ur own eyes..

Via A1 freeway, we bypassed "Colac" with short stopover at BP for refilling petrol, "Winchelsea" and "Geelong".. along the way there's still the same old farm sight repeating and repeating.. but i didn't sleep.. i insisted on keeping myself awake.. such sight can't be seen frequently.. large patch of field with herds of cows of different species.. black.. black/white patches.. brown/white patches.. ermz.. alittle different from those tv milk advertisement with clean contrasting black/white patches cows.. haha! i must've watched too much tv.. =X there're also horses and sheeps.. dead kangaroo at side of road.. sad eh.. must be got knocked down while crossing the road.. -.-" Snacking Smith's chips along the way to keep myself awake.. ans i've somehow became Uncle Richard's maid?! gotta keep passing him oreo cookies to keep him awake too.. -.-!! I also saw a Gunshop along the way home! scary eh?! I think that's for sale of hunter's gun.. not the ermz.. gun.. haha.. we reached back home at about 5.30PM..
Yarra River/Crown
After the whole long tiring "Great Ocean Road" Trip.. rest for abt 2hrs.. we went "Yarra River"!! Haha.. so energetic eh?! strolled along the bank of the river.. the weekly metlink ticket gonna expire by tonight.. so shouldn't waste it.. and the furthest possible place is Yarra.. look at the night life there.. so different compared to Clarke/Boat Quay.. they're really crazy here.. and hyper-active.. look at the Crown fire display.. i think this is the 4th or 5th time i'm watching it.. haha!! after the display went walking around inside Crown.. the cakes there actually kinda reasonable price? about AUD$6-8 per big slice?! about the same rate as normal cafe at other places.. went Safeway after the finish exploring the place.. and bought Homebrand Neapolitan Ice cream!! haha.. Sugar craving?! =X 4L volume for AUD$4.. cheap eh?! but it's darn fattening!! high milk fats content!! >.<"
CollingWood Children Petting Farm/Scienceworks
Now alittle about "CollingWood Children Petting Farm" and "Scienceworks"..
At "CollingWood Children Petting Farm".. we've concession rate for entry fee!! haha.. ermz.. since it's a farm.. don't except that to smell good eh?! and i'm not that a animal lover.. so i gotta run around when ever the animals come close.. -.-" There's those school kids too.. and they're looking at us like weirdos?! like we're so old already yet still here visiting the farm.. -.-" entered the lawn where animals were free to move around.. haha.. somehow i'm the only 1 screaming and running around.. lolx!! =X tried feeding the horses.. pony!?.. goats.. somehow they're kinda fussy pot!? doesn't wanna eat!! or only selective eating.. so i threw the grasses back at them.. lolx!!

The "Scienceworks" is just a nice place! located at kinda secluded area.. amongst the industries building.. gotta walk quite a fair bit into the industrial park area to get there.. but it's much more interesting than expecting.. especially the planeterium..
Hmmz.. upside-down?!
trying to control Nasa landing.. somehow i always crash?! haha.. i don't know how to play.. too old for that..
Muahaha! At the "World of Nitty Gritty" section.. This actually allow kids below 8yrs to hop on.. and i'm on it taking photo! =X
The whole day trip actually got me alittle tanned.. -.-!! i didn't apply sunblock.. grrr..
Tomolo will be a day of resting and packing.. maybe going to the newly opened "Direct Factory Outlet" (DFO) branch in the city.. if we're too free.. but that gotta walk.. no more tram ticket -.-" okiez.. end of the darn darn darn long post! =X
