Kyle and Wendy's Reception

What a perfect night and beautiful location! So fun to see Kyle and Wendy so happy. We sure love them both and are thrilled to have her join the family!

Photo recap: Kyle and Wendy's dance was so sweet, Kyle's dance with Kendra was very special, Wendy's bouquet dedication to her mom was beautiful, the kids loved the candy toss (Maddie had the brilliant idea to store her candy in her sweaty shoe), Anderson fell in a pond and was soaking wet from head to toe, the boys take any opportunity to wrestle and then they folded and stacked most of the chairs. I feel so blessed.

Cedar City, UT

We had a full weekend of fun and celebrating Kyle and Wendy's marriage. We went to Cedar City early so we could explore and have some much needed family time. We realized pretty quickly that we could have easily spent a week exploring. We went on a hike Friday and Saturday and the kids were troopers. We really enjoyed the pool at the hotel a couple of times, too. This was Abrahm's first time in a pool. He thought it was fun. We also enjoyed the food and thoughtful service at All American Diner.

The teeny tiny flood

At the beginning of July, we replaced a faucet in our kitchen.  It turns out there was a faulty valve involved and a tiny little drip occurred for about 24 hours.  You couldn't see or hear anything, but I noticed it when stepping on the kitchen floors and water squished out from the grout in the tiles.  I also noticed the foundation was wet on the exterior of the house all the way from the siding to the sidewalk.

Then we went downstairs to the bedroom below the kitchen and found pockets of water in the ceiling and water damage halfway across the room.
Such a mess.  We have been in construction ever since.  The mitigation process is looooong.  Jared is doing the repair work, and it has been turning out great.  Because he is doing the work himself, we have been able to do more of what we want.  We are excited about the results so far.

The tent to keep the air contained and drying the subfloor.

It was like this for a week or so.  Then they gave up on the subfloor and tore the rest of it up.

The bedroom downstairs.  The fans didn't cut it, so they had to bring in a huge de-humidifier that drained through a hose out in the basement living room.

Choosing flooring was a bigger process than we anticipated.  Hard to commit!

The dark green tile we found under the pergo in the kitchen.

The flooring stripper that still took 4 1/2 hours to "remove" the tiles.  Then we had to scrape and pick the pieces of the sticky subfloor.  This was the worst part by far.

Before the subfloor.  We had some incredible friends stop by Friday night and paint the living room and dining room and lay the subfloor for 3 hours.  We were so grateful to wake up Saturday and only have laying floor to do.

 Seeing how it would look.

Getting started in the kitchen.  Lots of fun angles and corners.

Finished kitchen.

Finished dining room.

Finished living room.  With furniture, even! :)
