Nursery Furniture

We finally decided on and ordered the nursery furniture today! It is the Urban Collection made by Munire in Espresso color. I love the dark wood color! After much thought and measuring, we decided to purchase the Lifetime Crib (converts to a toddler bed and full-size bed), 5 drawer dresser, and nightstand. Our hope is that the baby will have this furniture for a VERY LONG time. And, this way, if we are blessed with a second child, they will get their own new furniture.

Here it is converted to the full-size bed. It should be arriving around Christmas!

Now that we know the gender, I really feel like we need to get moving on things. Next step is registering, which we are doing tomorrow. Then, deciding on and ordering the bedding!

20 weeks...halfway there!

Today is a pretty big day at our house. Not only does it mark halfway in this pregnancy, but we also got our big ultrasound today. The baby is still measuring about 5 days ahead, weighing in at 14 ounces! Everything looked great - brain, kidneys, heart, stomach, etc. We saw the baby sucking and bringing one fist up to it's face. I am still amazed that I don't feel the baby moving around in there considering how active he/she is. Thankfully, the baby did cooperate when the tech was trying to figure out the sex.The tech got lots of great pictures for us. We had two envelopes...one with pictures showing us the sex and one that she wrote the sex. After the ultrasound was over, we went to the store and picked out two outfits - one for boy and one for girl. The sales associate opened the envelope and put the outfit that matched the gender in a box. We had it gift wrapped and then went to dinner. At dinner, Jason opened the box with the outfit to tell us both the gender! It was so exciting...I was so giddy!! I'm sorry that I can't share the sex just yet.

Congratulations, Tori & Justin!!

Tori & Justin got married on the 10th in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and we were blessed to be able to celebrate with them on Saturday night! Jason and Tori used to work together when they both started at their insurance company...almost 9 years ago.

Chicago & St. Louis in one weekend!

Yep, you read that correctly. Jason and I headed to St. Louis yesterday with friends to see the Cardinals game. Just a reminder that we are NOT Cardinals fans...Go Cubbies! Anyway, we went along just to go. I hadn't been to the new Busch stadium yet, and I have to say that it is very nice. The weather was beautiful! I even got a little burnt.

Mark DeRosa!! I was so sad when the Cubs traded him in the off-season. He's playing 3rd base for the Cardinals now.

Today, I was in Chicago all day for a meeting. And, now, we're relaxing on the couch waiting for the Bears game to start.

18 weeks!

Hard to believe we are this far already...18 weeks seems like such a long time and, yet, it feels like we were just told that we were pregnant! Things are starting to come together. We've narrowed down the choices for the nursery furniture (Munire) and bedding, and I think I have my list of things together that we are going to register for. We are so thankful to Jason's sister who let us buy her pack & play, bouncer, jumperoo, and activity mat! They all are only two years old and just used for Caden so they are practically brand new.

We have our big ultrasound in just two weeks. Yes, we'll be finding out the sex, provided that this little one wants to cooperate with us that day! But, we are not announcing it until the showers. I'm just going to have to remind people not to leave comments on Facebook about the sex until my last shower!

Speaking of showers, I think they are pretty well set. We have such great friends and family to celebrate with us that I think we are having 4 showers - my family/friends up North, Jason's family, friends, and then my neighborhood girls! It's going to be so exciting!!
