More Winter

We went bowling one afternoon after school.  Papa Stapleton was able to join us.
Brad and Dan
Seth came in last, which is unfortunate since he is a poor loser.
Apparently Seth would like one sister and 100 brothers.  I'll let Dan break the bad new that it is a wish that is not happening.
Dan was getting stir crazy with all the cold weather.  So I cured him of that and had him tile our entryway and the boys bathroom.  It looks great and a special thanks to Tim.  While we were at it we went ahead and replaced the carpet upstairs.  It was a major project moving all the furniture, but definitely worth it.

Dan finally got to go snowshoeing with the boys yesterday.  We did Temple Quarry in Little Cottonwood Canyon and it was great.  We arrived with the storm.  As soon as we got geared up it started to snow.  Driving back down the canyon was a little intense.  It was our best time snowshoeing, but a lot of work for 25 minutes of fun.  Later in the day Seth told me his favorite part of the morning was reading his new library books on the drive home.  Luckily I took pictures to document all our effort.

Taking a little rest.

Winter

My New Year's Resolution was to get the boys to eat more varied foods.  This has resulted in some agonizingly long dinner times and some unhappy boys.  On the bright side, they are eating more.
Their friend Vince has his mom save recyclable items and then he "makes cool stuff".  The boys wanted to do the same.  These are their robots.
I cleaned out the art drawer and discovered my old chalks.  They were a big hit.
This is a Pinterest idea that I copied from a friend that actually worked.  The boys colored a shower curtain with markers and made their own city with roads for their matchbox cars.
Happy 11th Anniversary!  We've had a good streak of celebrating our anniversary by taking a great weekend trip.  This year we spent it by both working 12 hour shifts.  Dan did step it up and had flowers delivered to the pharmacy.

Snow Fun

It has been a bitterly cold winter, but we were able to have some fun regardless.  I went skiing with my brother Mark on Valentines Day.  Dan was able to go on two overnight winter camps.

There's a great sledding hill behind the elementary school the boys attend.
We got the boys show shoes. Our first trip out I had to do a lot of coaxing with Brad.  This is his "I'm sooo tired!" look.

We went a second time with their friend Vince and his sister.  Eliza is a bit more adventurous, so the boys got into it more.

It snowed when we went with our friends, it was the boys first picnic in the snow.
