Summer Activities

Some pretty cool dudes. Highland Splash Pad, unfortunately it wasn't a huge hit, they were too nervous with all the crowds, but it was with some of my high school friends, so I loved it.
Not a great pic, but a bunch of the neighbor kids came over and they all had races with our shake and go cars.
Hike with neighbor friend the Gardners
My best garage sale find of the season, Thomas the Train.
Primary wants a pic of all the kids with their families in front of the temple, so here we are.
The boys helping their Macha deadhead flowers at the Draper temple
Liberty park water playground.  I was one of the parents who didn't know to have their kids come in swimsuits.  The kids float boats/toys in the water and under bridges.

And this is why we all should be blessed with a twin, you have a partner on the teeter totter.

All boys camping trip- with girl jackets

Dan took the boys camping overnight in the Uintas with his dad.  I didn't want to buy rain jackets for one night, so we borrowed the cousins, and yes, the ranger asked if Seth was a girl, and yes, Dan has been searching backcountry.com for jackets ever since.
The boys took all of these pictures themselves.
The homemade gaters Dan made out of garbage sacks.
I asked the boys if they caught any fish and Seth excited answered "no, just seaweed!!"

Swimming

I took the boys to a family reunion and one of the second cousins had goggles and diving rings and the motivation that sometimes only a child can instill and the boys went underwater!  I was so excited I went home and ordered goggles and we've gone swimming several times since.  They are doing so well.  The love to dive for rings, play tag, jump in the water, and even jumped off the diving board into our arms.
They don't know any strokes, but they're at least trying to actually swim now.
We have diving rings and sticks and they love them.  I know their getting better at not swallowing water because we're not having to make quite as many trips to the bathroom as before.

Dan Canyoneering

Dan's brother Scott flew in for a visit and Dan, Scott, and Janice went to Zions for some canyoneering.

Great-grandma's Family BBQ

Grandma Brown's assisted living had a family BBQ and the boys loved it.  There were balloon animals, cousins, a magic show, and surprisingly they were really excited about the big band concert, they even danced a little.

Now that the boys can take pictures by themselves, I may be making more of an appearance on the blog.

Field Trip to Odgen

We spent the day in Ogden visiting our friends the Baumgartners from pharmacy school.  We stopped at the Hill Air Force Museum on the way there.  When we got there Brad asked me if I knew much about airplanes, which I don't and he later told me "You learned so much about airplanes because I taught you, huh, mom!"
 Cool dress ups

We then went to the Eccles Dino Museum

We went to eat at Roosters, a pub that was awesome.  I'm already craving the onion rings again.

Start Them Young backpacking trip

We took the boys backpacking for one night to Cecret Lake at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon with our friends the Hites.  This was the beginning of the hike and I asked who was going to hike the whole way without complaining.  They all did really well.  We had to work in some motivational bribes, but they all make the mile hike up and then around the lake, all while carrying their own clothes and water.
 Seth
Brad was so tired and fell asleep before dinner.  I had to wake him up to eat and even then he hardly ate anything because he was so tuckered out.
 Breakfast
The kids loved playing in the dirt and throwing rocks into the water.
They all thought they had wont he prize for getting the dirties, but I think Mylie was the winner.

 The hike back down.
The wildflowers were in full bloom and absolutely beautiful.  The boys have recently learned to take pictures and they took a lot of the flowers.
