Trauma with RC Willey

I hate complain about the basement since it has been a blessing to be able to finish it, but it has come with some very stressful moments.  One of the worst was that our couch didn't fit down the stairs.  Two delivery attempts and a visit from the salesman/decorator to our house and the end result was a broken window, but now we have a couch!!
You're all invited over to watch a movie, or take a nap, it's really comfortable.
This is a bad picture, but the other trauma from RC Willey.  The Entertainment center and table and chairs where delivered in Dec and I recieved a call from the delivery people saying "We're about two houses down the street and can't make it up with the snow, do you have a neighbor with a truck?"  So, Dan, neighbor Chris, and the delivery people hauled the stuff up from two houses down, and they didn't set the stuff up since it took so long and turns out the table didn't come with the hardware.  Aaarg!  It's all better now and I'm ready to spend the rest of the winter watching movies.  I signed up for Netflix in anticipation. :)

Daily Ramblings

The boys recently started dropping their books between the table and wall.  Here are all of their books from the bookcase "reorganized."
What happens when little boys refuse to fall asleep until after 9pm, and wake up at 5am?   Any suggestions for toddlers who are afraid to fall asleep?  Brad does great when I rock him to sleep but seems scared to fall sleep, forces himself to stay awake.  He does great for naps though.
Seth loves to wear my marathon medals around the house.  He jingles wherever he goes.

Dinosaur Museum

I bought a season pass to Thanksgiving Point this week and we went to the dinosaur museum twice.  First with my friend Sofia and her kids and then with Dan.  It was pretty awesome and if you come with me as a guest you'll get in for half price!
Digging for fossils.  The museum allowed for plenty of opportunities to play in the dirt and was thus a big hit with the boys.
Look how smart Brad looks touching buttons on the computer.
This is the erosion pool.  The kids get to build dams and canyons, or in the case of Brad and Seth, throw dirt into water.

Into the cave, out of the cave, into the cave, out of the cave....

New Tricks

Seth came into the bathroom while I was blow drying my hair with a mangled plastic cup and a very wet shirt.  I asked him to show me how he got the water and unfortunately he's learned a new trick.
Reorganizing (or destroying, take your pick) the pantry is still a favorite.
Here's our proof that we exposed the boys to historical moments during their lifetime: inaugural coverage.  Also proof that my family room doesn't always look like the pictures from the previous post.

My Crazy Boys

So, my boys like to pretend to go to sleep, but the last two weeks they have been horrible sleepers.  Brad has to be rocked to sleep and has woken up every night between one and three am.  He'll sleep just great if you bring him into bed with you which is what we've done the last few so that Seth won't be woken.  Today I thought I would try not giving them a nap so that they'd be exhausted tonight.  While reading up on the internet how to deal with toddlers who won't sleep, I left them unattended and this is what I found:I asked Seth where Brad was and he showed me this tuckered out little boy.

At Christmas one of my aunts asked if I ever took a nap while the boys played since they're so tiring.  The answer is no, for the above obvious reasons.

Yea for the Basement

The carpet and cabinets are in as well as most of the furniture so it is now a functional space, Hooray!!
Dan asked what my favorite part of the basement is and my answer was the carpet- because now we can finally enjoy it.
We need a lot more books- ebay here I come!!
