Adventures in Bowling

Maacha and Grandpa Stapleton took everyone bowling the day after Christmas and the boys loved it!!  They were almost strong enough to carry their 6 pound ball as well.
Watching the ball return was almost as much fun as pushing it down the ramp.
Tutus can now be found in the pro shop of every bowling alley.
Yea!!!

Ogilvie Christmas Program

This wasn't part of the Christmas program, but a cool picture nonetheless.
Every year the Ogilvie clan puts on a Christmas talent show of sorts.  I didn't think the boys would participate but they happily performed the Hokie Pokie and loved the little kid singing time with their second cousins.
My dad was thrilled to have them participate and he made his own appearance on stage for the first time.
Both the boys loved the music, dance, and poems.
This is my second favorite picture from Christmas.  My aunt had all the kids take turns choosing a paper with songs/activities on them and Seth chose the Jack in the Box song, so this was his costume and he was less than thrilled, but can you blame him?

Christmas morning with the Ogilvies

If you haven't guessed, the boys love trucks.

Christmas Morning with Stapletons

It's a good thing that Dan and I gave our gifts to the boys first because the book about trucks that aunt Nancy gave stole the show.
The boys love to help us clean the floor so we got somthing more their size.
This is my favorite memory of Christmas, I just wish it was a better picture.  This is Sofia vacuuming the floor wearing her house slippers and talking on the phone.  She did this for almost an hour and it was hillarious.
No breakfast would be complete with the Stapleton clan without diet Pepsi on the menu.
Dan converted some of Grandma's old camcorder videos to DVD for her to watch and she was thrilled.

Christmas Eve

The Stapleton Christmas Eve tradition is to play Bingo.  Here is our JV league in an intense game.

Brad and Seth won a fire engine complete with siren.
All the cousins: Maya with Ellie, Sofia, Timmy, Seth and Brad

Daily Ramblings

Fun in the snow
The boys are obsessed with making piles of their toys.  Here is nearly everything from the family room at the bottom of our stairs.
And here is the start of a stack of books in the kitchen.
So I bought these potties a few months back so I could be prepared for whenever the boys seemed to be ready for potty training.  They have no interest in using them as a potty, but enjoy pushing them around the house or reading a book while I shower.
Surprise!  The boys have a triplet sister.  No, but their cousin Sofia could play the role.
Ride 'em Cowboy!

Play Time

I don't know whether to feel proud or extremely disappointed.  Dan's coworker loaned us the complete set of Baby Einstein DVDs and the boys paid no attention to them.  That is Brad sitting in the chair reading a book.  So I guess that's Hello to at least several more months of a disheveled house.
Seth knows what the camera is and comes over insisting to have his picture taken.
I had to return some fabric swatches to Gardner Village (ordering a couch has taken some major time and thought) so I tried to make it worth the trip for the boys.  Here is Seth enjoying his "honey boy" cookie.
That is a duck on the left that came up and talked to the boys.  They loved it.

Just Like Daddy

Wearing Daddy's soccer jerseys they found in the closet.  What a sweet boy Seth is!

My handsome boys.  This is before we went to the blessing of our new cousin Ellie.

This video clip was sent by my brother as a tribute to Dan because in his words "wearing your cell phone on your belt is the fanny pack of our generation"

Cleaning House

These boys are obviously their father's child.  How many other 18 month olds do laundry?

The newest craze at our house is throwing things away.  They fight each other over who gets to throw away their dirty diapers.

Outdoor Fun

Brad on his truck
The boys obsession with sweeping is not limited to our kitchen, they also tried to clean the driveway.
Seth
I didn't realize that we lived under such busy airspace until the boys started pointing it out.
Whoa!! Airplane!
While Dan and the boys played outside this is how I spent my afternoon, painting the front room.  It's a very dramatic change and bold but we think we like it we just need furniture.  We're open to any ideas.

Thanksgiving

We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Dan's parents, grandma, and sister Robby's family.  Here is the "grandkids table".  The meal was excellent and the best part was that I didn't have to do anything, Dan made our assignment of stuffed mushrooms.

Basement Update

Dan took the boys downstairs the other day and they loved turning the lights on and off.  This is the main room, just as you enter from the stairs.  It's all painted and the cabinets will be installed this Wed then carpet the following week, yea!!

The boys giving each other a hug in their future bedroom.
This is currently my favorite part of the basement, the storage room.
