Stapleton Family

We bought backpack carriers for the boys and Dan and his mom tested them out this week.

Does anyone else have a child who sleeps with their bum stuck straight up in the air?

Brad was a big fan and apparently didn't think Dan was feeding him quick enough, so he tried to get closer to the source.

Easter

Easter is one of my mom's favorite holidays.  For the past six years or so she's had all the cousins come over for an Easter feast and egg hunt.  The first year was my favorite because we all just humored her for the hunt, except for my brother Mark who was the only one who knew that the eggs each contained a dollar bill.  With his tall lanky figure he ran all around the yard while we just laughed at him, until we realized that he had about a $10 lead on us, so he got the last laugh.  There was a junior division this year and the boys got to crawl across the room for a new toy.  I took video of that and I don't know how to load it on the blog.
When the boys wake up we put them in the family room where all the toys are and they quickly leave for either their bedroom or our bathroom.  I caved in today and found a basket to put a stash of toys in their room.  Here is Seth playing with their night-light (it's really a wall light from IKEA, but I just haven't hung it on the wall.

Visitors

Uncles Jimmy and Mark came to the house to day to help load our lumber into the basement.  That's right, we (meaning Dan and his dad, Tim) are finishing our basement this Spring.  The boys are here with Jimmy wearing the shirts he brought them from his mission.  He served in the student ward for North Carolina State.
Dan's grandma has a deep vein thrombosis and is in the hospital.  She's doing great, but we went to go visit just to make sure.  The boys thought all her hospital paraphinalia sure was cool.

Beep!! Beep!!  Coming through, even if you're in the way!  Hopefully they'll figure out that they can go around obstacles and not always over them, especially if it's their brother.  :)

Any advice?

The boys love to hang out in the kitchen and their current favorite is to chase around these balls.

Any advice would be welcomed.  This picture was taken last night about 12:30 and if I look mad, that's because I was, and this is the most flattering of the 3 pictures Dan took.  For the past week our boys have been waking up almost every night at either 12 or 2 in the morning.  They don't want a bottle, they are just wide awake and want to play.  I tried to let them cry it out last night, but after 20 minutes I'd rather just get up with them.  They're super happy once they get out of their crib and just want to play.
The boys playing together, or more likely trying to make mischief.  I'm already starting to get worried for when they can climb up onto chairs.

Life on the Homefront

I thought the boys would enjoy their first outdoor experience of the year, but I guess I should've waited until after nap time.

Brad looking super cute in his hat.  A thank you to Aunt Joan for this outfit.
The boys had a check-up this week and Brad is 30 1/2" and 22lbs 14 oz and Seth is 30 3/4" tall and 23lbs 11oz.  I thought there would be a bigger weight difference because Seth is a tank, Dan keeps calling him a tuna.  They're both 95% for height and 75th or a little higher for weight.  I told Dan that it looks like we'll have some basketball players and he quickly corrected me that they will be soccer players.

Messy baby!

So I've discovered why the boys haven't been crazy about pasta- I've only served it plain.  Put some cheese and sauce and they're all over it, actually, it's all over them.  We have a babysitting swap with our friends every other week and she's a picky eater and wouldn't eat her dinner, but no fear because it didn't go to waste.  The boys polished down the rest of hers and this was after they had already eaten what I fed them.  It's a good thing Dan wasn't there, he doesn't do well with messes, as we all know.
Triplets!!  No, just watching our friend Miley.  I do feel like I need a star on my forehead though because I did it by myself for 3 1/2 hours.  Needless to say I felt exhausted this morning.

Winter camping

Dan went with his Dad on an overnight winter camp-out with the scouts last weekend up in the Uintas, ironically none of the scouts or other leaders could come, so it ended up being a father/son extravaganza.  Tim packs great food, ie TGI Fridays mozarilla sticks, so needless to say they had a great time.

Jazz Game

I received an email for a Creighton alumni event and felt so important for even being invited that I jumped at the chance.  We attended the Jazz vs the Denver Nuggets last Saturday.  Being in a sky box was great, but even better was being taken down to meet Kyle Korver outside the locker rooms.  For those of you who don't know, Kyle was a star player for Creighton from 1999-2003 and currently plays for the Utah Jazz.  So, now when I tell you that I got my picture taken with him you can at least fake awe at my brush with the rich and famous, my bubble of excitement keeps getting burst. :)
Looks like Dan is tall enough to play for the NBA.
At the game with our friends from pharmacy school Maren and Kevin Baumgartner.  Maren was in my graduating class, and Kevin was in Dan's.  They lived in Village Green townhomes with us in Omaha.
